3-4 hour job...got some nice things going here by accident. The bg and...whatever those wire coils are were just plopped down, but I guess they don't add much. If some parts appear rough, it was because I was trying not to fall into the old habit of overworking the rendering.

Lots of good stuff in this thread. I think Emlan's working with a mouse, you get some neat textures in your pics with your method. (I kinda tried to do something like that that in the raised leg, but didn't really get it) So props to you. smile

Thanks! Just so you know, it's not a straight-to-color drawing, but a greyscale rendering first and then a layer set to color on top of that. It simplifies things a lot for me, and takes a lot of the guesswork out of color value. I would say that it's, at least for me, easier than going straight to color. XD
