I am doing an anatomy guide as a school project.

The thing I'm doing is in a semi-realism style. But I am having problems with the proportion. This skeleton seems fine when you look at it, but when I start drawing a person based on this, there's

(I simply referred to some of the skeleton images I could find on google)

Please, do notice this is a semi-realism. Thus, I am aiming for fairly slim limbs, and a proportion of about 8 heads.

Red lines will be really, really appreciated.

Please help, I'm really desperate on this.

How are you making an anatomy guide if you don't know anatomy?

Anyway, people aren't actually 8 heads tall. That's an idealized (comic) convention. That's probably why it always looks bad.

Here's a far better skeleton. Get yourself some colored pencils and some good reference. Draw the muscle groups in different colors. Boom. Anatomy guide. The method is called ecorche. Here's an example from when I tried it. It's pretty fun, actually. The book is the same one I do my anatomy studies from. They have plates in the back that are really helpful. It's a difficult read, but it's worth reading too.

Aha, yes. I am very aware that 8 heads is a idealistic version, and thus, it is stated as semi-realism. My problem is balancing the whole semi-realism and realism thing...

Thanks for the link. <3 Hm... Judging from the link, I guess that'd make the hipbones of my drawing too big? ...

As for why I am making an anatomy guide? .... I figured out that the best way to learn is by teaching XP

Thank you smile

I agree. When the person already knows something. You really can't guide anyone if you don't understand the nuances yourself. But it's classwork anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter. Good luck.

Lol, I guess it's for people more noob than I am? XD
Well, the thing is, I've learned some facial anatomy through this. And thus, this is quite helpful. Ahahaha. sweatdrop

Well, that's pretty much what I'm doing over in WIP, so I guess I can't fault you too much.
