So that's the lineart and below are the ideas I have but I'm not liking them too much. The first features regular colours while the one after that has the colours plus a cloud/sky texture I found on Deviantart.
Like I said I'm not enthused about them and was hoping you guys could help me out a bit. <3

not to be weird, but they sort of look like bobble-head dolls. the heads are remarkably gigantic.

also, did you use a base for the bodies?

Gotcha I'll edit that down in a bit. And no I didn't so the proportions are prolly a bit off...any suggestions for the colouring?

ah, okay. as for coloring, i'm more a realism... er, colorist. it looks like you're doing something of a sharp version of cell shading.

i don't really suggest using textures. if you want texture you should make your own, else it will make the picture look too flat because the texture doesn't follow the contours of the body.

i do suggest some sharper shadows, though. i think it'll give it more of a 3d look.

Thank ya. Yeah the colouring is completely unrefined as it stands now, just a WIP since I'm really not sure thats the direction I want to go in right now.

Unrelated, but my 8-year-old sister saw your signature over my shoulder and inquired about why Mr. Sailors weren't wearing their pants all the way up. I didn't quite know what to tell her, haha. (But I still stop and stare every time~)




Anyways, I'm not sure if you've since made changes, but from what I'm seeing their heads are still huge. Men typically have shoulders that are about 2.5-ish heads wide (the long way), even the really effeminate men. Also, the red-head guy has forearms that seem a bit short and thin, and the curve of the dark-haired guy's right (our left) peck seems really rounded, especially when compared to the shape of the ribcage as it continues from under his arm.

I don't really think you need a texture, at least the one you wanted to use here. It really dulls the colours you chose, and to be honest I can't really even see the effects of the texture very well either.

I strangely like the red-headed guy's knee though. It is very... natural-looking. :3

The bodies are not really proportionate with their heads....
