i used to work at a tattoo shop.

if you want to be a tattoo artist it's a lot different than doing typical drawings and art. there is a style you'll notice with most tattoos that makes them stand out, and it's not just aesthetic. the way tattoos are made requires understanding of how the skin takes to ink, which is a great deal different than working on paper or canvas. line width and spacing and the way you shade and color are unique and something you won't learn in an art school.

i suggest learning to draw with a pen, also. no pencil or eraser, no rough sketches. try and draw pictures with a pen and once you can do that, try going down to a shop and asking about apprenticeship. bring a portfolio, of course.

YEA i was going to start doing pen drawings, and apprenticeship well, i dont have money for that but hopefully someone is cool enough out there to do it for free hopefully
