Taken straight from the rules. Bolded portion the emphasis.

How do I fight? Is this like roleplaying?
- No, The concept is based on drawings. Meaning if you see something happening or a person posing or taunting you're free to then use any medium you wish to attack and engage that person in battle.
- The picture should show both him/her and you doing your move. Even if you go for a killing move the other person has the right to do a recovery move.
For instance it could be like this:
1) Someone poses.
2) You attack the person cutting off all the limbs with a chainsaw or sword.
3) The person counters by suddenly possesing telekinesis and has his/her limbs launch at you.
The only thing that I can't stress enough is that it has to be a picture showing this. It's okay to add in text for the picture if you draw comic panels to add some dialogue or the likes
Basically, there's no basis for powers or abilities. If you got killed, you could just draw a line of clone pods labeled 1 - 1,000,000 and have #2 open up and start fighting in your place. Or you could pull a rise-of-the-phoenix deal and come back to life STRONGER when you die... And with an explosion to boot. The idea is basically everyone is a powerful or invincible as they want to be in order to give more opportunities to draw and practice action sequences or however one chooses to draw.
There. Hope this helps a bit explain the kind of fight it should be. Swallowing him whole is actually legit, but calling people out on actions for overpoweredness isn't really. Just the way it's done here.
