Pretty much any kind of amphibian is illegal here unless you have a permit for it, and permits are NOT easy to get. cry

That's the way it is in California over here. Permits are insanely hard to get and expensive. gonk I wish I had space to raise these REALLY bad. It'd be a great experience.

If you can't afford a tank perhaps you could invest in a large bucket? Just get a cheap sponge filter (or several, for even better water quality) and a heater and you're set.

If you can't afford a tank perhaps you could invest in a large bucket? Just get a cheap sponge filter (or several, for even better water quality) and a heater and you're set.

Just be careful buying tanks online... Make sure they are quality and not damaged. Also make sure that the glass used is thick enough to withstand the water pressure when it's full. Having a tank break is NOT fun. I lost an entire community tank of fish when that happened to me while I was away for a weekend. One of the most horrible things that happened to me ever :C I love my fishies.
