I'm soon to be moving, not sure when it could be tomorrow, Tuesday, etc but this week we're moving. My dog gets separation anxiety when he is in new places and is separated from me. I want the move to be smooth and my dog to know it's a good thing and there's nothing to worry about but how do I do this? When we go to new places and we separate he tries to rip up carpet, runs around the room, etc emotion_facepalm

can you get a secure crate to put him in to keep him safe? or a friend who can watch him for you?

if not you can always try doggy day care at your vet's while your doing all the moving stuff.

also having his stuff already set up before he goes in the house should help him not panic quite so much

I'm hoping to get a hold of a crate. My uncle has had many dogs and I seriously wouldn't doubt if he had like...10 laying in the yard lol so I hope he has one. And As far as setting up his stuff I plan on that and my sister will be in the room with me so I hope she can help him calm down, but he still does freak out when with someone else and I'm gone

the only sugestion i have is get his scent on as much stuff as you can so his scent is in as many places as you can get it. that should help him.
The main thing you need to do is to keep him at your old home for as long as possible until almost everything is moved. Then move him to the new place. If you can get the crate, that is awesome and set him up somewhere calm, but where he can still see/hear you. Get him a special treat to chew on while in the crate, ie: raw/meaty bone. Something that will keep his anxiety to a minimum because he is so focused on the yummy treat.

Yeah I am crossing my fingers for a crate and he loves his bones. But I will not leave him alone with a bone, when I was in the room with him he was chewing his bone, he started to choke on it and I had to shove my hand down and get the bone out emotion_0A0 So instead of a bone, I might go with a squeaky toy and treats are possible, maybe one of those treats he chews on that has peanut butter but take forever to chew?

Yeah, you don't want him to choke on it by accident. What about a kong or another stuffable toy that is filled with peanut butter? Yummy. 3nodding

Oh that's even better. Lately he's had an obsession with peanut butter, I'll try that that'll definitely keep him busy
