Health Protection for an indoor cat?

.~{ question This will be my first kitty and have been looking around and trying to decide which would the the best preventive medicine for a 100% indoor cat and have narrowed it down to four. i'd like a medicine that protects against/kills fleas+tick+lice-and their eggs & larvae, and worms.

Why dose with preventative medicine? Why not simply treat them as they come up (which would be rare for an indoor cat, unless it's in contact with other pets that go outside)?

I still don't know if its necessary, all the other animals (most of them anyway) in the building will have flea meds etc. if they go outside on a daily basis, so I doubt they will be a risk to your cats. We have had indoor cats for 12 years and they have only had fleas twice. We take Honeycake out on lead every summer, and often let Misty out in the yard as well (supervised only) and even though they go outside a lot in the summers, its still very rare for them to get fleas etc.

Having fleas, lice, or other bugs is not pleasant for the animal. A lot of cats and dogs have flea allergies as well, so a couple flea bites can quickly make them miserable. For areas with a high risk of them getting parasites, it's best to use preventative care.

Out of the ones listed, Frontline is my favourite. smile
