THE MORE PERIOD CLOTHING PETITION

Hey everyone, I am Dewdew, and I am the Vice-Captain of the Jane Austen Appreciation Guild. We recently had a create-an-Austen avatar competition and it came to my attention that there is a lack of Regency period clothing.
Also I have talked to fellow Shakespearean fans and we are disappointed at the lack of clothes from the Elizabethan era

The request is simple, bring in more period clothing, including, but not restricted too Regency period and the Elizabethan era.

I will try to update the petition regularly but please me patient with me; I do have a life.

Women:

Bonnets:
Gaia Online currently has only one bonnet, the pilgirm bonnet. This looks nothing like the bonnets mostly worn while bonnets were in fashion. Below are some pictures of bonnets that were popular during the Regency time. Note: A Bonnet should really have a bow that ties under the chin. I believe the bonnets on Gaia should be able to be worn with or without the bow.

Elegant hats-there really is a lack of elegant hats, which are still popular even today, espicially at the races Victorian Touring Hat

Dresses: The classical Regency dress. Elegant but simple.

Petticoats: nothing like a little lace peaking from under a maiden's dress to get the men's hearts pumping Petticoat

Hoop Skirts: Sure they are akward to sit down in and no one will be able to get near you, but they sure look lovely. From various periods, making a comback today in many wedding dresses (including my sister-in-laws) they transform your skirt into a big round thing

Bustles:

Corsets:

Men:

Tailcoat: Very dashing coat, in various colours. The army wore red ones, and were hence known as Redcoats. User Image

Boots over pants: While there is a large selection of men’s boots but none of them go over pants. Let us Tuck our pants in, and show off our awesome boots. No decent regency gentleman would not have tucked his pants in! User Image
