I'll sign this.

If down votes are going to be subtracted, then don't show the total number of votes; that makes it seem like twice as many negative votes as are really there. I would like to see down votes not change the number, but add to the number of total votes. Thus we might see 60 of 70 and know sixty out of seventy voters liked a thread. Real quick and easy to tell and it looks right. It appears that ten people did not like the thread, which would be true. Right now such would show as 50 of 70, implying twenty negatives when there are only ten. Not fair viewing.

I sign. <33
As a fellow art-shop runner and auction runner/frequent quester, I know how aggrivating it can be to get </3'd, and it doesn't make sense why people </3 and don't tell you why!
The only voting system that I liked was the cookie one. Users are more "economic" in their decisions on what to use it for compared to the <3/</3 system. I only say this for forums such as site feedback and petitions, everything else shouldn't have a voting system (unless required for something).

I sign.

I do like Tea's suggestion that negative votes shouldn't subtract from the points, I always get misconceptions about the number of </3s until I hover over the number..

And I have to disagree with the idea of "selling/trading <3s being unfair". Giving out </3s is also unfair, helping each other out by voting them up is an attempt at a countermeasure, which then later gets more </3s from trolls anyway.

I haven't accidentally clicked the </3 by mistake just yet, but there have been a few times where I wish I could take back my <3

For example, one shop which I thought was decent and shall remain unnamed: the owner did not keep up contact with a customer and when later asked about the order about a week later, said that she wasn't going to work on the order because she had homework.
Okay, fair enough, real life calls, but at least tell them. That customer dropped by daily to give bumps, and over that past week I had seen the owner online and posting.

But that's not all; she was still accepting orders and happily agreed to do the next order she got.
What?

So just as there is an issue with premature </3s, there's the same issue with <3, although rarer..
