I think enough time has passed that it would be ok to do it. Of course, I don't make these decisions, so I have no idea if they'd actually do it again. Perhaps as a cash shop item?

Hey VO, since you were there at the time, would you ever support the idea of re-releasing the 05 Grombie skins?
They're rare now, you really hardly see a user with them and many of us want them badly. We all know the 05 event turned out less than satisfactory with all of the user competition and we'd love a chance to earn them once more.

There are Gaians who are quite angry because they didn't make it to the Halloween event and some newbies here are sad because they didn't have a chance to get the Grombie skin. A handful of us were lazy and didn't want this skin, others were lagged out because of the lack of servers back then. A small number didn't even know about the event because they were taking a break from Gaia.
Those that DID partake in the event suffered from the mass human-grombie racism that lead to ignores en-mass from those that didn't collect enough grunny beakers.
Well here's my plea to you admins, could you bring back the Grombie skin? Maybe even in an item form (NOT IN STORES!)? The original event was filled with such elitism and drama, I'm sure it can be fixed if done again properly.

1. How could the admins rewrite Grombie back into the plot?
The G-Virus has been reworked by the remaining G-Corp scientists.
Infection from it currently will turn you into a Glompie.
...and somehow there's Prunnies instead of Grunnies.
So, we'd have to have a time travel mini plot for April fool's or something.
Those G-Corp scientists are always doing crazy things.
Have it locked away in a Zurg vault?
They could be trying to use it to bring back 02 or cure 09?
2. Elitism versus entitlement.
Having something cool doesn't make me feel better than anyone else.
I'm lucky to have had the opportunity to gain my skin.
(However painfully long and frustrating the event was.)
Those with the skin who feel they are do have a higher status than those who do not, should be ashamed of themselves.
Now, I've been troubled by the recent increase in people with entitlement issues.
I know it's a symptom of our generation.
You do not deserve everything to be handed to you with nothing required on your part.
Instant gratification does not apply to all things in life, sorry guys.
To get to a middle ground here could be done.
Though, not through a million gold shop item or a cash shop item.
Those would not start all users on a level playing field, as it was with the original event.
A quest line through Zomg may work.
Collecting a few hundred soulbound drops would be closest to original event's task of posting for a chance for another point.
However, with Zomg there would be the storyline issue again.
3. To re-release, or not to re-release?
The admins stated a long time ago that they would not re-release donation items/monthly collectables.
Since this skin is an event item, and they have re-released an event item before (the G-Pin), this little promise does not apply here.
People whined about loosing gold they had invested in the G-Pin.
Since this isn't a tradeable item, we won't have to deal with all that.
Personally, I'm on the fence with the issue.
If this gets a second chance run, I'd like a second chance at other past events.
Seems hypocritical to let us relive one small part of the site's past but not any other.
Have an Easter event where you can earn the items from the previous years?
Watch and laugh and everyone who bought their bunny and chicky slippers QQ all over the place?
Bring back the Valentine's day hang outs on the top of the page?
So you can go glomp everyone on your friends list, just because?
The main point being: Yes, it could be done.
...but, then again, why rerun old fun when we could all have new fun?
Each event Gaia runs seem to be better than the last.
