Sakura: np. I blocked herhim, So I don't think she'llhe'll be able to comment in here anymore. It's one thing to disagree with something and explain it reasonably, it's another to try to force it and then harass people and draw pictures. I don't know how many times you have to explain to someone, it's not the principal of a bad layout, it's that they asked ASKED for feedback, when they didn't like what they heard, they ignored it and did what they wanted.

Btw.. if you're in here when someone comments and they don't write -signs- can you remind them for me please? The list is so long now I don't know who has signed or not... and it's in the Petition rules that people have to say it in some way in order for the signature to count.

Thank you, that's a relief. Agreed, it's one thing to disagree and debate in a positive manner... but another thing when you harass petitioners and offend them with pictures. No one wants someone to force their opinions at them, it's not pleasant. I'd much rather hear out what they have to say... without either party feeling pressured. I know, I'm so sick of explaining it as well... If they didn't ask our opinions, it'd be a non-issue. They DID ask us though, then continued on to [with the exception of the PM I found in my inbox today from an admin] ignore us.

Honestly to me? That was slightly offensive, but cynically ironic and humorous. But if you have something to debate, or even build upon in our reasons that can actually bring in new light, or simply shut us up, I do wanna read them. >.>; (No offense to anyone, here). Hence, my posting to you.

But if you're just going to troll (which I know you said you haven't), I don't "shoo" anymore- I report.

Hmm... -wonders about the mixed emotions and awkward situations of the Mods- O.o

To me, Nights was trolling. In the purely indignant way shehe addressed my rebuttals to her points, it was non-productive and borderline harassment. I'm well versed in positive debates myself, the whole NaruSaku VS NaruHina war. I debate in a productive, non-judgemental way regarding Naruto pairings nearly everyday. I call them HEALTHY debates. Nights started out debating in a healthy manner... and merged over to the extreme of non-productive.

Yeah I did notice things seemed to have gotten sour somehow and sort of grimaced at that, hence the slight offense part about the picture thing in the thought it was actually made out of spite, and no matter how you look at it- there's nothing really nice about it. >.>;;

It certainly did go sour, right before the picture. When she posted basically saying, "I don't care what you think, your opinions don't matter." Not in so many words, but that was the gist. That's not debating, that's airing out your opinions. Debating means LISTENING, not just spouting your beliefs. Agreed, it was the spite in the picture that upset me more than anything. It wasn't for humor, it was to offend people. I can't find anything nice about it either... not at all.

I know that there are a lot of people who are upset by the changes and I've been taking action internally (as much as I can anyway). We are gathering everyone's feedback and we'll be implementing some of the suggested changes in the near future (I can't say when because they haven't been done yet). But we're working on figuring out the details.

This site doesn't need a new layout. NONE of the layouts were ever difficult to navigate; and obviously new members do know some of the site, because they find their way into towns easily enough to ask their obvious questions.

The problem isn't the layout of the site. It's the morons that don't want to explore the site for themselves and learn about the features on their own (which isn't hard!).

Gaia is not rocket science, people.

And besides, adding vague symbols to the MyGaia page is NOT going to help people navigate the site (I find the use of symbols a little condescending, actually. I can read, you know). Neither is letting them know who commented who's page, and who updated their profile.

If anything, it's overwhelming for new users.

I personally don't care what my friends are doing to their profile. I'm happy with the basic alert system that lets me know when someone did something to MY page.

I hate Facebook's layout anyway. It's not attractive, and it certainly isn't the best. But it's completely unnecessary for a site like GaiaOnline. This isn't a social network site. It's a forum based site, and we already have ways to keep track of forum posts and friends.

Also: if I wanted to see my house and non-existent car, I would have slapped them on my profile. But I don't. I shouldn't have to look at my house, non-existent car and my avi crammed into a small square in an ugly (IMO) fashion.

Gaia needs to change its priorities a tad.
