I F'ING hate achievements. My system is five years old or older in any case it just annoying and since Gaia failed to fix the pop up link. I just want to opt out of this feature.

This may not help, but I know I don't get achievement notifications and I think this is what I did somehow... I'm copy/pasting this from someone's FAQ answer about how to disable them. You can't disable them but you can disable the popups.

"You can't 'disable' them, you can only stop the notifications from popping up. Next time, when the screen pops up, click the check box that disables them from popping up every time you get an achievement."
