Gaia Aquariums Fish Life expectancy (Open, Seeking Banners)

So I logged, excited to see that the aquarium was up and running.
I cheerfully went over to the new shop to buy my fishies.
I looked at the price and thought 'Ouch.'
But what really got to me is that the fish only live for weeks.
Yes, you heard right.
I for one, dont want to pay $7 for a damn pixel that will only last me about a month.
Lets face it- Gaia found a new way to scam us.
Every couple of months they rake in about $14 from anyone who buys these fish.
Lets say 63,924 Gaians bought two fish.
Lets do math here.

63,924
x 14
$894,936 every month.

Thats more than what the average person makes in ten years.

What's my point?

Well, for starters, increase the life expectancy of the damn fish.

Another point is, why waste $14 on pixels that dissapear in some weeks?

It would make much more sense to pay 180 pixels ((gold)) for 9 week pixels.

Oh, hell no! I'm not going to waste Gaia Cash on a bunch of pixels that don't even last that long! That is absolutely ridiculous! I love the concept behind Gaia Aquariums, but what's the use of having fish that don't even live very long? After all, real-life fish can live for more than a month if you take good care of them and don't let them get sick or injured or anything. (I dunno, some species of fish live longer than others; I have seven goldfish in a pond in my backyard and I've had them for about, mmm, maybe over a year or so.) If I want to waste my money on short-lived, degenerate fish, I think I'll buy some real fish and starve them (not that I'd EVER do that; I love fish and other aquatic creatures). Since I don't, however, I'll most DEFINITELY sign your petition! No point in having virtual fish if they die so quickly! scream

hey sry to bother you but i saw that you are of a similar opinion. how bout we pick a day for a bunch of ppl to log off for about... four days? if we got enough ppl to do it, it would be noticed. i plan on going around the aquarium forums and pming ppl that are outraged about this whole fishy cash thing also.

Sky has just signed. I also have the same petition. Well from my own way I think that some people don't want to waste their money on a virtual game that isn't even real. They are asking us cash for non real little fish. Some people also can't afford the money to buy the cash.
