Okay, here's my question, forgive me if it's been asked before. I am aware that images are forbidden to be used in things to be sold for Gaia gold. Are quotes forbidden? Say, if I wanted to make a 100x100 icon using a quote from Yellow Submarine or Law & Order or Howl's Moving Castle, would I need to get official permission before I sold it for Gaia gold, or are words not part of the copyright? I mean, as long as I don't try to pass it off as my own?

So as long as we contact them and tell them we are earning an online currency and they accept, we're allowed to? so would we need to put in that graphic "image used with permission of...." to make it legit? and would we need to do that if someone asked me to make a banner featuring their avi-art?

Question.... My cousin and I found a site that lets us make motivational posters, like the one in my signature. The picture we used, we found on photobucket. Would it be against the rules, if we used that site, to make these and sell them? A pm response would be highly appreciated.

So, what if I want to make a profile of a Korean band and then sell it? How can I contact them to ask for permission to use their images if I can't even speak Korean? The same with anime companies. There is a language barrier here, too.

And, what if I email them to ask for permission but they reply back saying not to bother them with petty things like this? Then I can't use the image?

Also, if I ask for permission from a certain anime company to use one of their images and they say it's fine for me to use, is this right extended to all of the images made by that anime company?

Hiatus means that they owner is on a break and that nothing can be ordered.

The moderators know more than you do.
Using a copyrighted image to sell and make profit is both illegal on gaia and in the RL. In your signature, you haven't recieved any money for it, therefore you have not gained anything from it.

Now, if you've sold that banner, you just haven't gotten in trouble yet.
