I will follow the rule, but I just want to make a statement regarding this rule. I know you are doing your job, protecting the rights for the people who made it first. However, there is some problems with this rule. It is not going to stop everyone. It is not going to make that huge of a difference. All Gaia is going to do is hurt themselves in the long run. If I am wrong, then I am wrong. Please don't ban me because of this. I am just stating an opinion.
Your full rule confuses me to no end. I try to compare it to other sites and I still don't get what you mean full permission. For example:
Ebay is just like Gaia when we make shops. People have items such as a movie or anime artbooks and when they don't want them any more, they sell them to make money. Some people have bunches of the same thing. They almost have a small shop. The only major difference is that the people on Ebay don't have to contact the original owners. This is because of a "Fair-Use" law that is known throughout the world. Credit is required as long as you don't claim that you made it first.
My question to you is this: Why are you so determine that we get permission. If you don't want us to use any graphics, state NO GRAPHICS ALLOWED. That would end the confusion of this new rule.
If I get banned from Gaia, please let me know the reason. I am just stating an opinion. That shouldn't be against the terms of usage, right?
Oh my, trust me you cannot be banned for speaking against the Gaian Staff or such people. If they do then they may be facing lawsuit against the Freedom of Speech and etc. I can clearly see your reasoning but I think this is different.
You see, you are talking about real life merchandise that is being sold for money that is used around the world and yes you don't need permission to sell those items since you bought it yourself. Furthermore, I may accurately assume that Gaia is a private company that has created this virtual world. They created the rules and we must follow them since we are mere members of their virtual world. Now when it comes to graphics and such, things such as plagiarism come in. You cannot profit from them in any way even its fake gold because it is still currency used to buy other things. Its like claiming you drew the Mona Lisa and you are trying to sell it at your own price when it is clearly made by someone else. All you have to do is give credit to the person who actually made the work. What I'm trying to say is that when it comes to selling things such as arts and such, its technically mentally saying to everyone that you are claiming that work as your own and that is illegal. This corresponds to art publishing and book publishing in real life as well. Does that help?
