Can I use images off this site: www.narutomania.com ?
In their rules is not said that you cannot use the images, only that you can't claim them as your own. As narutomania.com do not own Naruto, you will need to ask the actual copyright holders of Naruto, i.e. Masashi Kishimoto or Viz Media. Since you are actually using the images to gain profit, this is required. You are of course allowed to make for yourself or others for free.

My question is regarding this statement:
Quote:
In short, you CAN:
* Images off Gaia

This was a profile I made for my mule accounts so it was not sold for a profit, but would using an Gaia image for a purchasable profile, such as the kitty be allowed?

Yes, this is ok.

I dont get it >.> people from gaia have been making profiles and stuff like that for a while....and nobody really gets permision...why does it matter now?
This rule has been in place for quite a long time now. @_@

A question.
if the written statement was a screencap of the actual message.do we have to place the link on the profile//product?
[it might seem a stupid question.but making sure >.>] ninja If you are referring to a statement with regard to having already gained permission from someone, a link to the screencap will suffice at the beginning of the thread.

A good quantity of the photoshopping I do is on either extremely old art (e.g. from sites that have shut down and broken of links to the web long ago) or from art clearly released into non-copyrought protection. Can I still sell my products, even though they are created from either of those two sources ?
In the first scenario you will still need to obtain permission before using them. If you can't find the original artist then you may not use them I'm afraid. In the 2nd scenario, I cannot say offhand but check through the terms of the images and contact the artist where possible. Many artist which offer royalty free images intend on the images only being used for personal use and not for the exchange of money, real or virtual.

may i still send my dolls i made because i have perrmission of the artist who created the dolls
heres a sample of a doll

Yes, this is ok as long as you clearly link back to the website you got them from. Such a shop should be made in the main Mini Shops forum. If you are making for yourself or others for free, no credit need be given, although you can if you want to.

Technically...using a commercial image (Ichigo for example) in a gfx design to sell on Gaia isnt considered monetary gain. GG has no value in the real world.
Technically this may be true but I have spoken to a few artists who have disliked users making a profit, real or virtual out of their hard work. We are protecting the rights of such artists as well as encouraging users to make stuff 100% themselves without using such images.
