Welcome to Gaia! ::

I read that you can use images from Gaia.

Does this mean I can use a brush I created via the image of the Gaia Gold Coin?

I have a question..what if we took a picture on a camera and wanted to use it? For example, we got a new digital camera that uploads pictures on the computer--and say..that I took a picture of an--erm..tree. o.o And I upload it from my camera to my computer. I edit it on a paint program and make it a graphic, is that allowed?

    » Yes, that's perfectly fine. They become your images since you're the artist (having taken the pictures with a camera and all <3). ^^

Thanks. ^^
I see your point. I use renders from fanart that I have permission to use. Fortunately, I'm not asked to credit alot of the artists. Same with my brushes.

Yeah, I don't agree that anyone is profiting from this. It's all virtual. Now, if it was that MMORPG that REALLY DOES have a way of changing their virtual currency into real money, I'd understand completely.

What about photomanipulations used to create custom signatures? I still have to spend time to make the signature/banner, and an artistic element is added to that, because I have to think about what will look good, etc...

    » If you're using photos, images, scans, screenshots and otherwise similar things that do not belong to you or your customer for these photomanipulations, you are still violating the ToS. You're not allowed to sell things that aren't yours by copyright, without the written permission of the copyright holder.
I created deviatart account for the specific reason of asking an artist if I could have a profile made from her work. She said yes. can I use that image now that I have the artist's permission?

    » Did you make sure to tell her that the person making the profile would be gaining a profit of virtual currency from the work? If not, I suggest you do so, just to be on the safe side.

    A lot of people have different views on redistribution of their works, so any kind of detail is the best way for you to make sure you're not violating any of the rules. ^^
I did tell her that I someone would profit virtually from her work. She seemed flattered! blaugh
    » Then you're good to go. ^____^
Do brushes used off deviantart require permission as well? Its been bothering me and I really don't want to get banned sweatdrop . Some of them ask you to link back to them so I guess if you made a banner you would just have to say that I used brushes from so and so site or would I have to include the url in the banner? Also what about brush makers that don't specify anything?

It's always best to ask wherever possible ^_^ A link back is also good once permission is given as it respects the artist who made them.
