Welcome to Indigo Eye Graphics your home for custom signatures, journal headers, thread banners, guild buttons, bumps, full thread layouts, and animated avatars. This shop offers both faux transparent background banners and banners with backgrounds. Banners can be both still and animated. Since I have yet to figure out how image maps work on Gaia that will be one thing not offered here.

Since I've decided to offer a new product with the animated signatures and headers, I felt it best to rework my shop with a new thread. The pricing from the old version of the shop has changed a little but will continue to be affordable. With prices on Gaia changing so much it's an unfortunate step that had to be taken and one that is reflective of the time taken to create a high quality graphic. So stick around, chat, have fun, and do take a look at what I have to offer.

I have my Illyncia's Honor now. However, I want to be at four million in gold again. I don't have anything huge on the radar I just like the roundness of the number. This is where you guys come in. Continue to be customers at the shop and if you'd like to help out in any small way (you don't have to but it's an option) there's always that 25 gold tip jar. ORDERING RULES

[x] Upload banners to your own hosting site: It’s recommended you use Photobucket, Flickr, Tinypic, or Imageshack

Upon completion of each order, a pickup list for all orders will be placed in the first post of the thread with an X after your name linking you to your banner(s). Check the thread often to see if your order has changed from in progress to finished. All orders will be given a three day window. If your trade has not been accepted within that time frame feel free to cancel it and try again at another date. If your trade has been accepted and your order has not been finished yet, feel free to inquire within the thread about the status of your order following the posting rules. Once you have your banner on your image hosting site, please let me know so that I may remove it from my image hosting site.

I'm not a credit whore who will make people put credit for their banners below them. I will not hunt you down and force you to put my name or the name of the shop under your banner. However, I do appreciate a little word of mouth advertising now and then so if you do choose to link back I appreciate it. Also, if you are inclined to give me a tip through Gaia's post tip system please do so at my opening post only. I would like to be able to to keep all shop related tips in one tip jar so I can better track them. Thank you for your business.

There are several things that will go into making your banner, header, and button for use here on Gaia. Colors, fonts, backgrounds, and are things to consider when ordering your banner. Images can be used on banners, however, what you can have on your banners will be limited. Because of Gaia’s rules on what banner shops can offer, images for banners will be limited to stock photography, stock illustrations, Gaia made items, NPCs, and avatars (current or TekTek).

FONTS

Fonts are the most important part of any banner after what you want your banner to say upon it. The list you are about to check out are those fonts that I will be willing to use on a banner. Any new fonts that I download to my computer for use on signatures and headers will be listed on their own with a link to a sample of the font. If I feel the font you choose does not work well with your chosen color pallet I will pick a font closest to your chosen font or tweak the color slightly.

COLORS

So what colors will I be willing to work with? The answer to that is a whole damn lot of colors. I pull my color inspirations from a website full of hundreds if not thousands of colors. I work with a lot of color pallets and individual colors to create my banners. Take a moment to look around the site and find a pallet or individual color that you want for your graphics.

BANNERS

Banners come in three styles: faux transparent text, text with a background, and images. Each style is available in three convenient sizes: Small, Medium, and Large. Small banners are appropriate for such things as guild, charity, shop, and quest advertisement. They can be faux transparent or have a background. Small banners, however, are unavailable with images. Medium banners are appropriate for forum signatures or custom thread bumps and are great for advertising guilds, fan threads, shops, charities, and quests. They can be both faux transparent or with a background and are available text only or with an image. Large banners are great for forum signatures, custom bumps, thread headers, and journal headers. They are versatile as they can be used in more than one location. Large banners come in either faux transparent or with a background and can contain images upon them.

Headers for journals, shops, and threads come in one size. Trial and error with journal headers fitting within the default Gaia profile dictates a one size fits all approach. Headers can be faux transparent or have a background and contain images.

BUTTONS

Buttons for guilds, charities, quests, shops, and fan threads come in three sizes: small affiliate amd large affiliate. Small and large affiliate buttons are good for the affiliate sections of other threads and shops. They can be faux transparent or have a background, however, due to their size they cannot contain images.

ANIMATED BANNERS

Animated banners are good for thread and post headers, journal headers, and signatures. Pricing for these banners will be higher than other graphics offered in the shop due to the amount of time and detail put into making each banner. On each banner it is the avatar that will be animated. At the time being only the eyes of an avatar will be animated. In the future other avatar elements will be animated. Animated banners will require two versions of your avatar in order to animate them. The first version will be your avatar with fully open eyes. The second version will be your avatar with an eye item that closes one or both eyes. If it makes your avatar appear wink, blink, or squint then it can be used to help make an animated banner.

Just as the title says this is the spot for those little freebies that I like to toss out. Freebies will be given to those Gaians who stick around and help keep this thread alive by hanging out and chatting. Don't expect to get a free banner for your signature by just bumping this thread. Get to know each other and talk. That's not to say I don't appreciate a little bumping now and then but I'd rather people stay and chat. If I do pick you for a freebie banner I'll put it on display for a while. Not everyone who comes into my shop to chat and keep it alive will get a freebie so you'll really have to stick around and chat. The longer you help keep the thread alive the greater your chances will be that you'll get a nice little freebie. Freebies won't be animated (for now), however, they can be just as detailed as the third sample in my animated user banners.

People ask me how I do it. Just what is it that I use. What's the creative process that turns the avatar you use on the site into the signatures and headers you make. Where do I find everything that goes on my graphics. If you've ever wanted to know how it's done or where to find something I use then look no further. In this section of Q & A you'll find my answers to your frequent questions. If you have a question that I didn't answer feel free to ask them in this thread.


Q: What program(s) are you using to make your banners?

A: For every banner I make I always use my quite outdated Photoshop CS. Photoshop is on CS5 now and I don't have the money to afford it. If I'm making an animated banner then I send the banner over to Adobe Image Ready CS. Image Ready lets me do the simple animation.


Q: What item(s) do you use to animate the avatars in your banners?

A: I use the dark eye pose of the Chuchip's Blessing to help make my avatars blink. Other eye items that can be animated to appear to blink, wink, and squint include: Angelic Manner's wink pose, Inari's Beads Kitsuneme pose, Dander's >_< pose, Demonic Style's wink pose, and Mona the Platypus smiling eyes pose.


Q: How do you make the avatar animated?

A: One layer at a time. Really that's all there is to it. It's the digital version of a flip book. In Image Ready I turn on and off a series of related images to make it appear that the eyes are blinking, winking, or squinting. Place an avatar with a wink, a blink, or a squint directly on top of an avatar with open eyes and when each layer is turned on an off you have moving eyes. Other items can be made to move by slightly changing their position one layer at a time as well. Turn them on and off fast enough and you have animation.


Q: Where do you find your fonts?

A: All my fonts come from four font websites. My free to download and free to use fonts come from dafont.com and Font Garden. Any paid fonts I legally own and have paid for come from Letterhead Fonts and the P22 Type Foundry.


Q: Where do you find the brushes and other items in the background of your banners?

A: All brushes and C4D renders used on my banners can be found on Deviant Art. A simple search on DA for Photoshop (or GIMP) brushes and C4D will pull up a wealth of resources you can use for your own work.
