Lol, well mabye not in a store like that but instead like a big department store like Walmart or Target. I always dreamed of a job where it was easy and I didn't have to talk to anyone if I didn't want to.
OMG I've been a cashier once and it was the worst!!! The owner constantly yelled at me for the most stupid things like not taking the coins out of the cash register correctly. Plus, I do horribly under pressure and you are required to remember so much stuff like prices. I only stayed for about a month and then quit. What are your horror stories?
Yes, my dream is to get accepted to Rhode Island School of Design and study either fine arts or illustration. Probably the latter though. I didnt graduate yet. I think everyone should use their talents, or else it's just a waste.
Yeah that would actually be nice. I don't like my current job because I feel like I don't relate to any of my coworkers so now I'm treating it well, like a job and not really socializing with people. Just working. But it makes me kinda sad. :[ And I know what you mean about the prices thing! Hahah! People always ask you how much something is! I'm like, "WELL HAND IT OVER AND LET ME SCAN IT!!" There's thousands of items in the store. Like I'm really gonna remember the price of the 24ct. Ibuprofen. neutral !!!
Ahhh well, I had a woman giving me attitude once and I decided to be nice when she was done barking at me and going, "I hope you have a better day." and she got super mad and left the store and called the manager 5 minutes later saying I was rude and that I told her to have a better day in a super mocking tone.
I've worked in a predominately white neighborhood and have had brushes with racism. A man was explaining something he wanted but he was being very vague so I kept repeating a question to get him to give me more info. So then he started speaking slower and he's like "DOO YOUUU NO SPEAKOO ANY ENGLISHHHHO?" I have absolutely no accent and I gotta say, I think I speak English better than the average person. It was so shocking. I held my composure til he left and then I just burst into tears.
But I've had nice people too. I've had people invite me to lunch, a lady brought me ice cream, even one time, I came into work half drunk ( xp ) and a customer must have noticed because she asked if I was okay and I (stupidly) admitted I was a little hungover and she went over to Starbucks and got me a double shot cappuccino. Haha! There's more things but I'll just go on and on and no one wants that. O__o
I really admire that you have your goal set in stone, pretty much. I hope you're able to get in! Should be a piece of cake! You're a great artist!
I don't socialize much with my co-workers either. I work with a bunch of adults, and idk, I just don't feel that confortable talking to them. I get sad too, and sometimes really depressed after I come home from work. I've thought of quiting sometimes because it makes me feel so horrible, but the money comes in handy a lot so yea.
I know what you mean! Some people are just so rude and think the world revolves around them. There was this one woman who didn't want me to help her with changing her children's music lesson times because she didn't trust me and said she would call back when the other receptionist was in. I was just like wth?? What a jerk. People treat me like I can't do anything just because I'm still a teenager.
Aww that's so nice of them. Nice people make me so happy when I'm at work.
Thanks, but it's one of the best art schools in the US so I'm still not so sure. In the end, I don't care what school I end up going to. I just want to be successful.
