I don't mind auditioning for stuff myself...I mean, I totally get nervous, but it's all a part of auditioning for things. You're supposed to get a little nervous. It's what makes you do well.

Watching OTHER people audition, on the other hand, Jesus Christ! I had to judge for the school musical this year, and every time someone got up to audition, I just kept thinking "DON'T SCREW UP DON'T SCREW UP DON'T SCREW UP PLEASE OH DEAR GOD DON'T SCREW UP."

And it was absolutely NERVE WRACKING!!!

Anyone else feel this way?
I know the feeling. Especially if you know the person audition personally. And also, if it is their first time auditioning then you kind of have soft spot for them. But yeah, I totally agree.
I know what you guys mean. I’ve had to help with auditions before. I watched a lot of my friends audition and I kept thinking, “Why are they so nervous? It’s ME for goodness sakes! I’m not going to throw rotting fruit at them or anything.” I just wanted them to quit being nervous and do a good job. I know they had it in them.
On the other hand, watching auditions from that point of view helps me see what directors are looking for, so I can do a little better and not feel so nervous the next time I’m the one auditioning.
