In the movie, they don't pronounce Ariel correctly. It's Ar-EE-el, not AIR-i-ul.


How can the movie be wrong? Did Hans Chritian Anderson say it was pronounced that way?


I know someone with the name.


Well that's how the parents decided to pronounce it. I think there's just two ways to pronounce it.

You don't have to be so mean to the musical. It's fine, I've watched the Disney's The Little Mermaid, and it WAS great. wink

As for Little Mermaid, I like how they were trying to pass off that chick for sixteen. And people wonder why the all the Christian associations attacked it so hard. I wonder if they left it like that in the musical, or if they made her a little more legal.

I don't think Hans Christian Anderson even gave the Mermaid a name.

He didn't gave her a name. But, in Disney, they did. And, I'm proud of them for that. wink
