Congratulations everybody, and have fun with it! And good luck to those of you who don't know if you made it or not yet. wink I know how ya feel. I just tried out for the community theatre's production of Hansel & Gretel. Mostly singing and dancing, though there's a few lines for the characters. I'd be singing--and acting--if I got in.

I'm almost positive I've got something. There were seven parts to fill, plus there's supposed to be a chorus of kids, and seeing how the less-skilled people are most likely to end up there, they'll need at four or five kids. Only eleven showed up--two were just little kids--they tried out for dancing too, and they were just so adorable. whee Three were considered adults, four more not counting me were high schoolers, and two more were younger kids. There'd be four left who didn't get main parts, and I'm sure they'd need at least that many for the chorus.

I just don't know what part I got. She's supposed to get back to us either tomorrow or Monday. I tried out for Gretel--it makes no difference, really, it's just who you'd prefer to be. Actually, only one part was for a male--the father. Hansel was specified to be a mezzo-soprano. Only one guy showed up, so I guess that fits.

I'm a terrible judge of who I'm better/worse than, because my confidence is lacking--but I don't think I'm much worse than them, if not as good. It's up to the director to decide what's best. I'd think that the older girls would be better for the mother or the dew fairy than Hansel or Gretel, because they're meant to be little kids. For once I'm thankful for not being tall--I'd have more of a chance at Gretel if I was short rather than if I were tall. whee

Heh... sorry for rambling. I really needed somewhere to spill all that stuff. I feel better now. sweatdrop

Just got over a play from my school. Only four shows, but it was really bad because we were usually going till about 0100 and my depression's been bugging me bad lately.

I have to get together my portfolio for my interview at the college. I need to dig up some old poems and stories and write a pitch for a show (I have a good idea, hopefully I can do it). I'm nervous because I hate being judged on my work and I haven't been well emotionally despite having the bestest boyfriend in teh wurld!!!1OMG But if I push myself, and it's more interesting than university, I may make it through for my diploma. Then maybe I'll try a BA again.

Two weeks ago were the auditions at my school for Greese. I really wanted the part Marty or Rizzo. My favorite characters of that Musical (not the movie). This was my frist time to a call back. I was super excited. My director even had my read both of my favorite parts. wink But I wasn't what she was looking for in a Rizzo or a Marty. crying

BUT, I have lots to be happy about. xd I am the props manager of this production, I am going to be apart of the construction crew aswell and this years Vice President of my Senior Drama Executive Board. Plus, I didn't get my favorite part but I am a Background Girl. I love getting background parts because this way I can totally make up a whole character to play. biggrin It all works out for me, in a way. Plus, as an after thought, my plate would be a little bit too full with a lead.

The pointe evaluations are on Saturday!! I then have to wait for up to two weeks for a letter. I'll post again when I get my results.

Sing like there's no one listening,
Dance like there's no one watching.
my first play was called dark of the moon. I was star male role by the title of john the witch boy. this is crazy alright, in themiddle of the first seen, i lost my line when my attention was caught some where out in the crowd because i was caught off gaurd by something i didnt know. after the event happened, i vowed to never leave my place so i could replace my trace. i didnt understand what happened, but at the least we got third during the play, and i was able to at least attain 1st place when it came to one act play. the part came naturally, all i had to do is look the part, with my spiritual unreluctance, leading to the moment of doom, i vowed to stay clean when it comes to my plays. albeit this was when i was a senior in highschool, that moment has never left. it was like being shot three times. the first when i forgot my line, see i knew my line, i just didnt know what three me off gaurd is all it was. second when the lighting got ******** up and the third, when jason chamness left the cd inside the cd maineframe. i never really cared for it, but to this day i grew angry at something toward jason and joseph, but it means nothing now because i can always grow better in esteem.

Good luck and congratulations to all you guys! Have fun with it! wink

:: ninja :: Callbacks for Hansel and Gretel are Sunday. I'm hoping for Gretel. whee It's not exactly a play, per se--it acts like a play, but it's all singing. They call it an opera, but a lot of the music in it doesn't seem very opera-esque. Me is nervous. I shall post again when I find out what's going on, and I have no idea when that'll be. :: ninja ::

I hate you.
