I'm a huge fan of the CSR. The Valjean actor was actually pretty good in my opinion and the Javert was spectacular. Only the Cosette was a bit too whiny for my taste.

Javert was awesome in CSR!!! he happens 2 b the one in TAC! Valjean...not the best. But still pretty good. Cosette is fine, once you get used to her. Btw, if i'm saying contradicting stuff, it's b/c i'm thinking of it in new ways, and dif. ways to phrase it.

Philip Quast owns my life. He will always be Javert to me. smile Same with Michael Ball. No one can top those too, in my opinion.

Cosette can go suck a c**k, though. Lame character, so I don't usually give a s**t who plays her. xd

Cosette was good in the book, but ppl don't seem to like her in the musical. I do like Cosette, just not as much as Eponine. It also seems that in the book Marius and Cosette were more deeply in love, and in the musical they just weren't as much. Also, Eponine wasn't as in love in the book, or at least didn't show it. Musical: REALLY in love...or so it seems... Just my random opinion...

I hated Cosette in the book too. She was too shallow, and too flighty. Half the chapters with her in them made me wanna punch the book.
i hate the musical

I love the Thénardiers. smile Not in a 'they are so awesome' kind of way; in a 'they serve their purpose in the novel as antagonists' kind of way. biggrin

I don't see how he was an idiot. Sick and twisted, but not stupid.

I mean, he YANKED the fillings out of a corpse's mouth. Not every idiot would even think to LOOK in there, let alone actually take them so forcibly.

I didn't mean idiot as in stupid, i meant it as in he behaved kind of idiotic to me. Normally i wouldn't be risking my daughter's health by having her smash a window (although that was kind of clever, but it's also pretty stupid.) Does that make sense? he's smart, but he only uses it to his advantage, doing some pretty stupid/risky things. I guess that's the best way to put it.

He didn't tell her to smash the window because he's idiotic. He just has no regard for his daughter's life or well-being, or, at the very least, isn't keeping it in mind at that point.
