Well, here's my story.
I have no dancing experience, and I started a GCSE in performing arts this year.
However I went to my first PA class which involved dance and my class mates were amazed that i had never danced before.
I apparently was a natural..
I knew I was pretty damn flexible but I thought that was the extent of my capabilities..
I have a pretty decent voice..
In my singing lessons my teacher put me straight in at grade 5 in my first year then as my second year approaches is working on grade 8 stuff. (Which is fair good to be fair being that there's only 8 grades)
My acting is my strong point..
Acting is my passion..

So.. what chance do I have getting into the performing business..
a dancer with no training?
an actor who's had no lessons?
a singer with two years of lessons?

not much is my reckoning..
but it thought I'd see what you guys thought..

LOL KAY ;DD

You have as much of a chance as the pretty little ingenues
who've been doing nothing but ballet and voice lessons their whole lives.

Not to say you shouldn't take lessons, though.
They are a big perk. :]

^It's a boy. What should I name him?^

I take unwanted things.
Bright colors are a plus.

I believe in Harvey Dent.
Now let's put a smile on that face.
Why so serious??

You have a good of a chance as the other people.
But the real thing is which one is your passion?
That would effect your eligebility to be hired
and how well you do in one general area.

In the entertainment business, you getting hired comes down to a few factors:

-What work do you have to show for yourself? aka Are you good at what you do? This means that they generally don't care to see if you graduated from the best school in the field or if you're just some random person on the street who is fantastic (though, sometimes school does give a little boost of credit, but that's more for the next point on this list). The point here is, you have to be good at it.

-Who do you know? Yes, this is a field of work, like many fields of work, where when you know someone in it, you are more likely to get a job in the industry, because that person will recommend you when someone they know is looking for someone like you. Basically, the more people you know in the industry, the more opportunities you have for your name to be dropped when a position opens up. So, network if you can. Meet as many people with dreams like yours (they might make it big one day and bring you in), or try to meet people already in the industry who you admire (without going stalker on them).

-Be a good team player. This is a social industry - you don't go off and work on your own with no one around you, so treat every day (even right now) as a day to be cheerful (or at least pleasant). Take a positive attitude with you everywhere you go - get used to doing this now and integrate it into your life. This could make all the difference between your being hired or someone else being taken for a job. And don't make excuses. If something happens in your life (whether you were the cause of it or not), take responsibility for it, because it is your life and you are the one who makes the decisions for it. People tend to gravitate towards leaders, not victims.

-Most importantly, have a passion for it. If you don't, there is no point in pursuing it. But, if this is what you want to do with all your heart then you will succeed (as long as you also believe that you will succeed and you don't give up).

Good luck! And have fun!

Thank you to everyone who's replied.
=D
It's been a great help.
I think I'll try and get myself some proper lessons and concentrate on the acting.
And see where it goes from there I guess
