Anyone own an Electric Cello?

So one of my life goals has always been to own a cello and learn how to play it, and I'm finally able to afford one. I found these amazing electric cellos online that look like badass Kingdom Hearts weapons, but I was wondering if it's the best choice to learn the instrument with. I've played percussion, piano, and I'm a singer, so I can read music and have advanced knowledge of music theory. I just wanted to hear some opinions.

not a cellist myself ( a harpist, actually) but 3 out of 4 siblings play cello, so i figure i'm qualified to say "go for it!" just be ready to explain that no, you're not bringing a gun in the coffeehouse, it's a cello. have fun!
