Where I circled, you can see bushes. Instead of graying it out outside, they went with an artistic purple for a more just-after-sunset feel. This is just a guess, though. To the left of where I circled, I think those are glass doors, and they just covered up the concrete and made it cozy.

After some staring, that area looked like it might be bushes to me too.
..But..I zoomed in on it, and tried to figure it out, but the WHOLE background of that scene is just COMPLETELY ambiguous to me.
I cannot define it as anything, earnestly.

Well, it's meant to be outdoors. Dens are primarily indoors, aren't they? Both patios and dens are meant for recreation, though, so I can see what you mean. Even spaces that are enclosed by the house, such as an inner courtyard, is known as a patio. Did you know that in Persian, "patio" means "a small, quiet, and private yard"?
