Rick took off towards the direction he thought the dungeons would be in, and Ravendor found his way to a large conference room with a really really long table surrounded by high-backed wooden chairs and large portaits of corrupt leaders. In the back of the room was a strategy board that Ravendor went for out of curiosity, but Drek appeared from behind one of the tapestries to argue with him.
Ravendor challenged Drek, and Drek morphed into a very draconic shadow creature thing... hard to explain, suffice to say he's really cool. His face looked like the devil with a bunch of straight horns sticking out the top, and the only bit of clothing that survived the tranformation was his dark assassin trousers.
Ravendor and Drek fought. Rick heard the commotion and sprinted to help Ravendor. Rick scrambled for a katana, which he found on a wall bracket where someone had left it.
Rick and Ravendor both fought the fast and powerful Drek until Rick was tossed aside like a rag doll, and Ravendor was thrown and knocked out cold. Drek was ready for the final blow against Ravendor when Rick got back up and attacked again. He was knocked aside again.
Drek mocked Rick for being so pathetic and worthless, and something about crawling back into his little hole where he belonged so he could enjoy the few precious moments of his life left.
Then, Rick's eyes went white, the katana was engulfed in ethereal energy (actually, the katana was absorbed into his ethereal sphere which helped Rick learn of the sphere's ability to morph into any weapon of his choice), and Rick attacked with greater fury and speed. It was all Drek could do to block the ferocious attack, let alone attack himself.
At some point in the battle, Drek attempted a risky move to try and grab Rick, but Rick completely drained Drek of his energy, shucking it aside and blowing a hole in the wall. Rick defeated Drek, knocking his sword to the ceiling, but Ravendor woke up just in time to keep Rick from actually killing him. As Rick held Drek by the throat ready to thrust his sword into Drek's chest cavity, Ravendor revealed that Drek was his brother.
As Ravendor was explaining to Rick about it, Drek somehow disappeared. Rick and Ravendor followed Drek behind one of the many huge portraits all over the conference room. It led to a hallway with many traps etc, until they came to a dead end. It was a deep red brick wall which Ravendor had to use an ancient flame ability to unlock the door inside it.
Inside, Drek was holding Mekai hostage in a black wedding dress that got tighter every moment that passed. Ravendor attacked Drek as Rick cut Mekai loose.

Rick proceeded to find Mekai's sister in the dungeon whilse Ravendor and Drek made their way back to the conference room where Ravendor eventually impaled Drek on his own sword. The blood moon on this anniversary night of Mekai's dead parents' bond came out, and Mekai transformed into a super powerful vampire being. With this power, she was able to defeat the Beast King before Ravendor had to save her from the crumbling castle. Rick helped Mekai's little sister escape from the castle.

After the event, oracles/avatars arrived to proclaim a prophesy that had been fulfilled only to remind them of others that would soon take place concerning the return of Ravendor and the fox that would restore balance and peace. Already the sickened land was beginning to show life again only moments after the devastation.
Mekai gave rulership to her sister, and then she and Ravendor got married.

Rick went back to help watch over the tribe. After a few years, Rick got word of another evil king in a land far up North, who was torturing a number of beings for information, as well as creating an army of chimeras.
Rick left to do his hero thing.
Rick was able to help free some prisoners before they made it to the castle of the evil Gila King Haaroc, as well as set free a draconic slave, named Zaren, whom Rick decided to take on as an apprentice. Rick brought the prisoners to a ship in a hidden rebel harbor, in which they were able to return to their homeland.
Then, Rick and Zaren found a cave to hide out and train. Deep down inside the cave they found an ancient throne room of sorts with old weapons and equipment. Everything was really old and falling apart, except a select few weapons made from steel which were rusting already. There were a few other documents that would have kept scientists busy for years, but that would have to wait until after the purging of evil.
At this same time, Pedro was a prisoner of Haaroc. The king had recently noticed Pedro's abilities of being able to probe a body for it's complete anatomy just by touching them somewhere AND being able to control the chemistry around him to the extent of being able to make any element or chemical he wanted out of thin air within 5 feet of his body. Pedro was discovered using this ability to heal some escaped slaves and was captured. Pedro waslocked in a dungeon hanging by chains attached to his wrists. Later, he was thrown in a room with a basic bed and table, and the door was locked on the outside with guards outside it.
Pedro was used to refresh corpses of beings that the King had in high regard, such as a goat that was captain of the guard that got his throat slit.
Now, Pedro can't actually bring someone back from the dead, but he CAN repair their organic tissues, get their heart pumping, and get the brain waves flowing. But, they always seem to have something missing. Something that an old bat named Niccian called a "soul."
Niccian, an old, blind, greying fruit bat, was the soul retriever for chimeras and the King's favorite slaves. Not much is known of Niccian. But, he could give a body a soul. It wasn't always its original soul, however.
So, Pedro was also used for creating chimeras, which Niccian added miscellaneous violent spirits into. They became great friends, and learned much from each other.
Rick trained Zaren, using knowledge he had gained in his old dojo about the abilities and powers of dragons. He taught Zaren about acid breath, changing his body physics, like making his arms into daimond, or his tail into stone or wood, and then martial arts, which Zaren seemed to already know fairly well. Rick was afraid of the day that would inevitably come when he would have Zaren defeat King Haaroc and have to become King himself. It was the culture of this land that said the next king was whomever defeated the current one. It would be difficult for Zaran, a former slave, to accept that calling if he should be the one to do so.

At the castle, Pedro and Niccian came to be great companions. Niccian gave Pedro use of his great library for studying, as well as maps of the lower levels of the castle, and much wisdom. Pedro was eventually able to heal Niccian's eyes that had been burned out when Niccian had disobeyed an order from the king.
Pedro failed many times trying to heal the king's elect whom had lost the will to live, and pleaded with Pedro to just let them die. Pedro wouldn't refuse... Pedro was tortured mercilessly. And, every failure after that, he was tortured again. Niccian told Pedro to stop messing around and if they lost the will to live to TAKE their will from them. Pedro refused outright. He decided he would have to escape soon.
Niccian knew that he would attempt an escape, and started making plans for it to be possible for him, as well as plans for his own escape/rescue. He sent a note to whomever was the most powerful being nearby, using a bat that could sense powerful auras in the area, to free Niccian after the inevitable conclusion that it was Niccian's fault. He promised a reward of some sort. Rick accepted and began planning to storm the castle.
(Pedro) ((This is my absolute favorite scene in the whole thing, so I'm going into detail.. it might take more than one post... ))

Pedro was in the healing room, healing one of the general's elite. He happened to be a reptilian. "Please..." He pleaded, reaching up at Pedro from the steel table, Pedro's fog swirling around them. "Please... just let me die... let me go..."
Pedro held onto his the scalie's forehead, probing his body and searching for the errors, but there were none.
Niccian's advice rung in his head.
"Why do you keep failing to heal them?" Niccian said.
"I ... I can't heal them. They've lost the will to live!"
"Then take it from them!"

The reptile died. The fog dissipated, and the balors drug Pedro to the torture chambers where the executioner was waiting with what looked like, and actually worked fairly similar to a cattle prod... only it caused a thousand times more pain.

... ((Details are too gruesome for ... well, for words... ))

Pedro was thrown back into his own cell room. Steam was rising from his fur, and he crawled up onto his bead, groaning from the pain still aching in his bones and flesh. A white flower was placed in his paw as a reminder of his failure.

Pedro eventually made his way to the shower to wash off the residue from the torture, still holding the daisy in his hand. It was amazing to him that daisies even made it this far into the castle without dying from the fumes or chimera creation.

Pedro was sitting on the bed when he dropped the daisy onto a pile of dozens of dead brown daisies at the side of his bed. He held the dagger kit given to him by Niccian, contemplating suicide. But, he would never resort to that. No amount of torture would make him kill himself...

"Why do you keep failing to heal them?" Niccian said.
"I ... I can't heal them. They've lost the will to live!"
"Then take it from them!"

Pedro looked up with anger in his eyes and sheathed the knives.

"Never..."

He looked one last time at the maps, then belted the knives to his waist, putting as many of the small knives and darts on the belt as he could. It was time.
Pedro melted the lock on the door, and went out, closing it silently behind him before darting down the hallway. He ran like he had never run before, then made a right inside one of those doors that have the big metal latch that you push. He went that way to find a set of stairs that spiraled upwards along the wall in the large square room. They went up for probably thirty floors before ending at a secured elevator. Pedro leapt from banister to banister, from one side of the room to the other, leaping at least fifty feet higher each time until he reached the B12th floor, bursting through another one of those doors.
His shoulder was busted from the impact and he stood still for a moment to repair the fractures before continuing. Nearby, he came upon three balors. They were startled by Pedro's sudden appearance, but their training soon kicked in to attack the intruder. They were ready to kill. Unfortunately for them, Pedro was ready before they were, and small metal spheres were created out of thin air and blasted at them before they had time to react.

Up a long sloping hallway, Pedro climbed. Finding a guard here and a balor there, he got rid of them, blasting holes in their chests and heads with the metal spheres propelled by small explosions created in Pedro's palms.
Eventually, he came to a dark rocky hallway where Thrash waited. ((Thrash is a really big green beetle who often has headaches. He guards that hallway and leads down the newbies...)) His exoskeleton was too thick and tough for Pedro's makeshift bullets to penetrate. Thrash tackled Pedro and attempted to bite his head off piece by piece with his long sharp mandibles. Pedro brought his right knee up under the giant beetle, using a bit of help from some chemicals he threw into the muscles of his legs, and tossed the beetle down the rocky slope. Thrash slipped down upside down on his shell screaming and complaining about his headache and the scratches on his newly waxed wings.
Pedro was wounded in the event and had to stop to tend a deep puncture wound in his stomach, as well as a few crushed bones and some flesh torn from his face.

He eventually made it to the hallway with grey cement on one side and glass walls on the other side where you could see the chimeras being finished, souls being inserted into their lifeless husks.
The glass walls lifted suddenly, and the horendous beings groaned as they limped towards him. The engineers came after him with battle axes and maces.
Terror took Pedro before his eyes began to glow red with bloodlust. A toxic fog surrounded him as he spun slicing with his special blades. Finally, the room was filled with the fog. Shrieks and howls of pain and anguish echoed across the hall as the fog turned from a toxic green to a horrendous blood red. Pedro grinned and knelt on one knee slicing away to his sides with the blades. The fog dispersed. The chimeras and engineers were gone. Blood and gore dripped from the walls and ceiling. Piles of rotted flesh and sinew lay in random places. Bones half eaten by acid were strewn down the floors.
Pedro stood as his eyes reverted to their normal yellow color, and a tear fell from his eye as he noticed the carnage he had created. The pain echoed from the walls and Pedro vomited. He leaned against a wall to recuperate only to slip on the bloody refuse.
He ran from the hallway cleaning himself with a white fog. He knelt at the bottom of a set of nearby stairs and wept. He covered his right eye with a paw for a moment, and when he removed it, the fur around it was white, like a white eye patch. It was a reminder to himself now, never to do anything like that again.
He stood, realizing every moment he wasted he could be caught by the guards. He was nearly to the entrance. Just through the hidden door at the top of the stairs and up the elevation lift. After that, through the front doors and he was home free... he was almost there...
Pedro ran up a small stone staircase and pulled a lever that opened a door at a dead end. The wall opened up to a huge cavern filled with thousands of milling chimeras, soldiers, balors, guards, and miscellaneous other beings.
Directly off to the left were the elevation lifts that shot up or down like rockets to get to each level. He remembered the unpleasant sensation of almost just falling when he was brought down the the lower levels after his capture.
Pedro made towards the elevators as silently as possible, but with millions of beings in there, it was inevitable he would be seen. Luckily, the lifts weren't very far away, and he was able to hop on a few heads and land inside one of the lift cages. A guard was waiting for him there. Pedro kicked the guard square in the face as he leapt inside, knocking the guard out backwards. He then grabbed the lever and thrusted it up. The lift rocketed up towards the highest level.

(Discretion is advised.)
Guards bursted into Niccian's quarters and took hold of his grey wrinkled wings. "What is the meaning of this?! How dare you...!"
"By order of King Haaroc himself, you are to by tortured to death for aiding in the escape of ... P.. Ped.. Pedro Foxx..."
"Aiding in...? What escape? When did this happen?"
The guards didn't answer and only dragged him to the torture chambers where the executioner waited.
"You must be special..." The executioner exclaimed in a high pitched nasally voice that had the very essence of sadism to it. "The King specifically asked to wait so he could torture you himself... What an honor..."
Niccian whimpered, then let out a yelp as he was thrust backwords into the execution table.
"Oh dear me... it seems that your wing membranes won't allow the braces to close properly... ... Oh well."
The executioner forced the wrist braces down, crushing through the fleshy membrane of Niccian's wings. Niccian let out a scream of pain as the brace clicked into place.
"Now now, that wasn't SO bad... only three left..." The executioner cackled.
Soon, Pedro made it to the top. He glanced around, making sure noone was there. All he saw were empty hallways to the left and right, and a wide short staircase leading to a set of large, cream color, wooden, double doors directly ahead of him.
He loped up the steps, and burst through the doors to a gigantic lobby which was occupied by four balors. They were apparently very surprised to see him there, because it took them at least ten seconds to respond to his arrival. But, Pedro had already dispatched of one with a well placed metal pellet before they attacked him.
"Hey stop!"
"How'd you even get here?!"
Pedro created a fog of sleeping gas behind him, and the guards fell asleep. The first one hit the floor as Pedro burst through the second set of even larger iron doors.
Lightning struck across the sky and thunder boomed loudly as he raced down the steps. Goblins, Orcs, togs, and other demon vermin shied away from the fox as he loped down the long, wide, cement staircase, and through the streets. Anything that comes OUT of those doors is likely to be very dangerous...
Pedro let loose three throwing daggers up towards the gate guards. Two of them hit directly in the center of their backs, while the last knife hit a lever which opened the lift gates and made the big iron bridge loose from the crevice in the cliff were it rested.
The bridge slid slowly at first, almost straight out, but slightly downwards, until it hit the other side of the short canyon separating the magma island castle from the mainland. A loud crash shook the area, sounding for miles. Tree's shook, and pieces of the mountain were still crumbling down to the moat of magma as Pedro crossed quickly.
As he made it to the other side, he turned around and whispered, "Thank you... Niccian..." Then, he fled into the dark evening, never to be seen in that land again...
It's so horrible it borders on comedy.
((Back to summary mode))

Earlier, before Pedro attempted to escape, Rick and Zaren recieved a message from a bat about an opportune time to raid the castle and slay the evil king. So, they prepared and went up to the castle.
When Rick and Zaren arrived, the dust was still settling from the large drawbridge. They ran across and entered the castle.
Inside, they raced through the corridors, following a map that Niccian had sent with the bat. They found and rescued Niccian, who was weak from the pain of the bonds forced through his wings.
They rescued him, and made it to the entrance of the castle when Haaroc himself showed up. Zaren fought the king and defeated him just barely. The castle began to crash into the volcano from the last attack by Zaren reaching a vital generator and starting a chain reaction of explosions.
Rick and Zaren were able to make it out alive with Niccian in tow as well as a small group of balors and guards. As soon as they were clear, they immediately pledged loyalty to their new King Zaren. Zaren wasn't happy about it at first and was even on the verge of suicide. However, Niccian and Rick were able to talk him into it, claiming he would be a great leader.
