Saturina's blessing (brief scene)

Against the vibrant mosaic floor, wooden heels’ clicked continuously on, bound for the vast, sunlit chamber which dominated clearly the very center of the temple. Into the warm light, the lone figure emerged; a woman of twenty-three years’ of age. She strode with long, pale legs, calmly into the vast chamber. Before her amber eyes, stood tall the statue of a statue of marble, in the image of the patron Goddess of Esnium, Saturina Optima. On the woman’s tall neck, bounced ever so slightly a necklace of pearl and sapphire as she slowed her pace. Sunlight which fell from the vaulted glass ceiling, landed gingerly upon freckled cheeks, and seemed to set ablaze her bunned auburn hair. In the presence of divinity, the awed woman smoothed her white, silk robe, and dipped her hands into the cool rose-water pool around the statue's feet. At their entrance, the pool rippled around her hands, moreso as she drew her hands from the pool, cupping water to her lips, and began a silent prayer.
