A Vampire Story

The beginning. Our human threesome is on the road, they’ve left the airport, Matt is trying to make a great trip video.

Matt: Matt’s England Vacation Video. Part one, take one.
Gina: Is this really necessary?
Matt: Yes. You never know, this could be my big break.
Drew: Into being a travel agent.
Matt: Just go with it.
Gina: Fine.
Matt: Take two. So, how is England so far?
Gina: We don’t know, because we can’t see it.
Matt: Cmon, Gina. Be more positive.
Drew: We positively can’t see through the rain.
Matt: *sigh* Philistines.
Drew: *laughing* What does that even mean?
Matt: That’s beside the point.
Gina: Which means he doesn’t know.
Matt: Shut up.
*Car sputters and chokes*
Drew: What now?
*pulls over, gets out*
*checks engine*
Gina: Matt, get out and help him!
Matt: You know I’m no good with cars.
*Drew gets back in the car*
Drew: It needs a mechanic.
*All check cell phones*
Gina: I can’t get a signal.
Matt and Drew: Me either.
Drew: I guess we’ll have to walk until we find a place with a phone.
Gina: There’s nothing for miles! And it’s pouring!
Drew: We don’t have a choice…

Matt: Our English adventure begins…
Gina: Walking in the rain isn’t an adventure.
Drew: Chin up. We’re getting exercise.
Gina: While drowning.
Matt: Cheer up, Gina. We’ll be safe and warm before you know it.
Gina: I guess.
*Time lapse*
Drew: it’s starting to get dark.
Matt: My camera has a light if we need it.
Gina: We will when night falls…
*Time lapse*
Drew: Can you see anything yet?
Gina: I see the road and the rain.
Matt: Same here.
*Flash of lightening, Blood Manor gate appears*
Matt: Whoa!
Drew: What the hell?
Gina: Where did that come from?
*Moments of silence pass*
Drew: Well…we found a place. Might as well check it out.
Matt: Uh…Drew…maybe we should talk about this…
Gina: C’mon, Matt, I wanna get out of the rain.
*Group moves forward*
Matt: (whispers) This place is creepy.
Drew: You can talk normally, Matt.
Gina: C’mon, guys. Let’s just get this over with.
*Group reaches gate.*
*Drew walks up and rattles it, trying to open it.*
Drew: It’s locked.
Gina: Oh no…
Matt: Well, I guess we could try to scale it.
*Silence*
Matt: What?
Gina: I’m not scaling that.
Drew: It’s illegal.
Matt: Is it?
Drew: Trespassing.
Gina: *sigh* I guess we’ll have to find another place.
*Group begins to walk away*
*Flash of lightning*
Mary: Hello.
*Gina and Matt scream*
Mary: Sorry.
Drew: It’s fine. Can you help us? Do you live nearby?
Mary: Yes. I live here.
Matt: Here?
Mary: At Blood Manor. It belongs to my family.
Matt: (whispers to Drew) Creepy.
Drew: (whispers to Matt) Shut up.
Gina: Do you have a phone? Our car got stuck a while back.
Mary: You must be cold and you’re clearly soaked. Please, come in.
*Mary opens the gate, without a key. Matt and Drew share a look.*
Gina: Thank you. We’d like that.
*Group walks through gate. Once they pass, it closes on its own…and locks itself.*

Mary: While we’re walking, let’s acquaint ourselves. I’m Mary Blood.
Matt: Matt Hallows
Gina: Gina Hallows
Drew: Drew Marks.
Mary: Brother, sister, and boyfriend?
Drew: Friend.
Gina: Best friend.
Mary: Ah. So, what happened to your car?
Drew: We had a problem with the engine. Radiator, maybe.
Matt: That’s what it looked like.
Drew and Gina: *Small laughs*
Mary: What’s so funny?
Gina: Inside joke.
*Group reaches front double doors. Mary opens them*
Mary: Home sweet home.
MDG: Wow.
Lucas: Mary, where’ve you been?
Mary: Helping some strangers. Their car broke down.
Will: Always the good Samaritan.
*Lucas and Will join the group*
Mary: These are my brothers…
Will: William Blood.
Lucas: Lucas.
Will: It’s very nice to meet you all.
Mary: The phone is in the kitchen. Lucas will show you.
Lucas: My pleasure.
*Group walks off*
Gina: Your house is very nice.
Lucas: Thank you. It’s been in our family for generations.
Matt: How old is it?
Lucas: Around eight hundred years, give or take.
Gina: Wow.
Lucas: *Smiles*
*Lightning, Thunder*
*The group reaches the kitchen*
Drew: Looks like the storm is getting worse.
Lucas: *picks up phone* *Pauses* *replaces phone* Seems like it’s taken out the phone lines.
Drew: *picks up phone* *puts phone down*
Gina: Do you get a signal out here?
Lucas: One of the downfalls of living in a secluded area.
Gina: What are we going to do?
Lucas: Where’s your car?
Drew: It’s about three miles down the road.
Lucas: I’ll have Will bring it here. We might be able to fix it.
Matt: You sure?
Lucas: He’ll be happy to do it. Excuse me.
*Lucas leaves*
Drew: It’s the radiator, there’s no way they can fix it.
Gina: At least they’re trying.
Drew: What’s that supposed to mean?
Gina: Nothing, I’m just saying it’s nice of them to try.
Matt: Guys, break it up.
Gina and Drew: *Silence*
Matt: Think about this. If we can’t get a mechanic, and they can’t fix the car…
Drew: We’re stuck.
Gina: Maybe they will let us stay here till we can get the car fixed.
Drew: Or we can borrow one of theirs, go to the hotel, and send it back.
*Mary enters*
Mary: Lucas and Will went to get your car. Please, warm yourselves in front of the fire.
*M, G, D Leave*
Matt: Said the spider to the fly…
*Matt follows behind*
