Prologe
The sound of tires crunching clods of red stone and clay of the road. The sound of snoring comes from my little brother who sits in the back. Letting out a deep sigh I look out the window to see nothing but trees. "How long will it take for us to get there mom?" Shrugging she anounces. "Not to much longer. This was a second house your grandfather left in his will. No one really knew about it not even your father."
Sitting in the driver seat was a scruffy unshaven man with short brown hair his skin was slightly tanner from working outside. While my mother on the other hand had long hair that poofed on the bangs. "We are only going to this place to fix it up and then we will head back home." Said my father as he sworved quickly. The car jerked and woke my brother who huffed opened his eyes and looked around. "Geeze dad you trying to kill us?"
My brother, Matthew, was much younger then I was yet much larger then me also. His shaggy black hair matched his black t-shirt. We all laughed except for my father. "If I would had hit that turtle it would have dented the transmission and we would have been stuck on the side of the road." My mothers hand reached out and lightly touched his shoulder. "I bet you could fix it. You can fix anything." My mother gave a wink.
Making belching sounds me and my brother tease them both. "We dont need to see or hear anything about fixing anything." I said glaring then looking back outside. Taking a corner the trees part to show a large two story house with five windows on the second floor and four along the bottem. The porch was large with white collums that hold up the roof. The home looked built long ago amost alot older then my grandfather was. Vines seemed to strange the sides of the house even choke up the collums.
Wow seemed to be the only word anyone apperently knew. "Who would want a house like this? It must have about a billion leaks." My brother blirted out. Out of the corner of my eye I could see my father roll his eyes. Going from clay to pebble the car bounced and swayed from side to side. "Oh man im going to throw up." I said with a light grawl. "Shut up Mark or Im going to throw up too." My brother yelled at me hitting the back of my chair. Turning to throw a punch my mother yelled. "Both of you be quite."
As the car came to a stop in front of the house. Jumping out first I race to the door. My brother on the other hand pushed the seat away to get out of the car almost triping over his own feet. "Carful you might start a landslide." Laughing I went to open the door to find the door open quickly sending me to the ground inside. Falling onto my arm I grumbled a ouch feeling a sharp pain. Raising my head I saw a woman on the stairs glaring daggers down at me.
Her hair was long and so blond it seemed to burn like the raise of the sun. Her blue eyes glared down at me without a hint of worry for him. As my mother came running inside the blond haired woman was no longer there. "Mark are you ok?" She grabed me and held me close. "I think I sprained my arm." Looking at it it was slightly red. "Oh my baby come and lay down we will get everything." Giving her a nod she helped me to my feet.
Getting over to the couch I floped down. "Carful." I said as my mother held my arm. The sound of a loud bang heard from the door as my dad droped a large suit case. "Come get this Mark." My mother turned and said. "He hurt his arm leave him alone." With a sigh he walked over and said. "Let me see." Grabbing my arm roughly I let out a hiss of protest. "Move your fingers." Wiggling my fingers it feels like my pinky and ring finger felt numb. "I cant feel my two fingers." Pointing at the two fingers my dad sighed.
Chapter 1
With my arm in a make shift sling I sit back and watch my family bring items from the car to the house. Even as I watched them my mind wondered to the image of the blond haired beauty that stood on the stairs. Making up my mind I stood up and began to explore. Heading up stairs the wooden steps began to creek as the wood rubed against the nails. Passing by a painting of some flowers in a vase the wall paper looked like it was fading.
Getting to the last step I let out a huff. "Geeze one to many. Might need to ask for a bed on the bottem floor." Being on the second floor I could see a few doors and a addic pull cord. Walking under the pull cord I can hear somthing hit the foor above. Reaching up with my good arm I quickly pull on the string and allow the steps to fall.
Running up the six steps to the addic I look around. "Who is up here?" Nothing or no one answered. I fully got up and into the attic so I could get a good looked around. Moving a few boxes I noticed nothing was odd. Except that there was a white powder that seemed to be around the wood in few places but I thought it was just roach or rat poisen. Walking over a white line I felt a shiver run up my spine. "Get out of my room!" With my eyes wide open I could see the woman standing before me.
Stumbling backward I fall onto my butt. My foot brushed against one of the piles of white dust breaking the continuation of it. A wall of light appeared where I had just been. As the wall of light dimed it revealed a secret room just inside the make shift barrior. Ther was a bed, a dresser, and a few other dolls. All was cept vary nicely kept clean. Standing there in a transparent state in the middle of the room was the blond with a darker glare then before.
"You just destroyed my room you a**!" She said gliding toward me with a great speed. I held up my hurt arm and good one to block anything that is coming. She stoped just inchs from me. "Im about to make your life hell." She had a wicked smile on her face and moved away. "Im sorry." I said looking up at her.
The girl just glared down at me from mid-air. "Why are you and your family here? This is my familys home." The girl says crossing her arms.-Lowering my arms I let the sling hold my hurt arm and my other is behind me keeping me straight up. "My parents bought this home." For a moment the eyes of the transparent girl grew soft and sad like she was being left behind.
Suddenly she phased out of view. When she was unable to be seen. I sighed and layed back against the ground. The wooden planks under me felt like they were shaking as someone came up the stairs. My worried mother poped her heads up out from the hole. "Mark are you ok?" Slowly standing up I looked toward my mother. "Yah im fine." She looked past me and smiled. "Seems you found your bed for the night." Quickly shaking my head I said. "No! I dont want to sleep up here." My mother laughed and said. "Is my oldest scared of the dark?" With a huff I walked past my mother and headed back down stairs to sit on the couch.
