Sonnet Time! :D

So for a writing club I'm in, we wrote sonnets in honor of Shakespeare's birthday, which was yesterday. Tell me what you think!

Across the heavens, through the night
The moon's lustrous face radiates
A silver glow, a chill respite
As cricket-song reverberates.

I cast my gaze on open air;
By shooting stars I am entranced,
Comets, clouds, and space they share,
Concealed by day, 'mong stars they dance.

Below, the city rudely groans
A melody of gray desire
In soul-less, aharmonic tones;
It overshadows the stars' choir.

In the city song of decay,
The moon's clear voice withers away.

I like this a lot, really. I like all the diction you used, it's wonderful. The only thing that off puts me is the rhyming, but probably because I come to hate rhymes. They grew boring. But your's is very good. I like it. Well written.

Thank you! The rhyming was sort of forced as it was a sonnet, and I'm not used to writing rhyming poetry.
