Heroes

My heroes are all those who defended our country
They stood strong they all had something to live for
Something to die for
Something to protect
They each risked all
Shots were fired
And many were killed
But their sacrifice was not in vein
Now every wet and cold November
we need pause to remember
all those heroes
who freely gave their lives for our freedom
