shot down by crossfire
who's right and who's wrong
doesn't even matter
he's feeling, she's feeling
blame is lost within chatter.

He said she doesn't care
she said he doesn't mind
and we're just listening
where's a word that's kind?
No taking sides we say
it hasn't been that long
the toll seems much to pay
yet we're still so wrong.

I'm glad to see such promising work on just my first visit to the poetry part of Gaia! I am proud to say, these all merrit special appreciation, but yours is quite well written--the best I've seen so far. Confusing, but still clear in a way that one understands the confusion, if you know what I'm saying...@.@ Or not... "Crossfire," was an interesting word choice, and a good one at that. I see nothing wrong except the meter is just ever so slightly off toward the end. If you can mend that bit, it will make for a beautiful piece! Keep writting!
