What is the Machine?
The Machine is a primeval artifact anchored in time and space. It has been characteristically known to suddenly spawn random organisms from its enigmatic bowels.
Where is the Machine?
The Machine exists in an infinite number of universes, planes, and time-periods. It has always been. So long as you exist, so does it.
What does the Machine do?
The Machine periodically releases a burst of cosmic energy every few hours. In the wake of this billowing cloud of darkness, arises a new contender.
How does the Machine work?
The Machine is tethered to an infinite number of planes of existence, and is rendered immune to temporal and arcane effects through its omniscient existence. It is bolted into the fabric of physical law, and as such, should be treated as a 'constant', a symbol of infinite in an ever-changing landscape.
Who protects the Machine?
The Machine protects itself and itself alone. It does not protect the beings it produces. It is not hostile, and does not actively engage in conflict. If one seeks to attack the Machine, it will not fight back until a hostile threat is determined. In the event of such a scenario, the Machine will most likely seek escape.
...so what now?
The Machine actively tracks and releases information concerning its creation and displays that information across a gargantuan screen across one of the Machine's 4 sides. The information is broadcast on a universal signal and can appear in universes in the form of a scroll, a television channel, a radio station, or some other mode of communication.
The Broadcasts
The Broadcast is an information based transmission available to every single organism in the known planes and universes and dimensions scattered across the world. It is a legitimate 'hit-list' open to challengers from any world.
And it begins now.
