In a world where being different makes you a target, it’s all you can do sometimes to survive. The world has gone to hell since World War III ended in 2053. A maniacal government group has succeeded where so many others have failed and actually taken over the world. People obey their will, their laws, or you die. Seems simple right? Wrong.
It’s not easy to follow the laws made by a man no one has ever seen. It’s even harder to fight against them, fight for a freedom that hasn’t been around for over a hundred years. There is a choice people have had to make. They can either continue to go about their lives; blindly following a system of rules that make it so that any difference you may possess will get you locked up or killed, or you can fight.
The definition of different is having thoughts or powers that the government can’t control. The government has no problem if you were born with special abilities as long as they have control over how you use them.
In this role-play, taking place in what had once been New York, you are either part of the problem i.e. the government, or the solution.
Government: The people who work in the government are in three groups. You can be an Assassin who follows the orders given them blindly. Their job is to find the people the government deems too different or too dangerous to live. You can be a Government Solider, who find, detain and bring in anyone who is using their power for their own means. They bring them in so the Specialists can use their talents to convert, collar or destroy the different. The Specialists deal in torture, if that torture leads to death, then oh well.
The people who are part of three groups as well. There is the Organized Rebellion. These are the people who are part of the rebellion who fight the soldiers, sneak into government facilities to get information and are doing anything else they can think of in order to restore freedom to the people. Lone Guns use their powers and their minds to work as a vigilante might. Only the criminals they are after are the ones that rule our world. Finally, we have the Gutless, who have no cause to fight for. They don’t care about either side, just about themselves and the freedom they wish to keep. They will do anything to do so, even pretend to work for a side before double crossing them they are out for number one.
