United States of America
White House, Washington, D.C.
Oval Office
+++The President received the message via his computer within minutes of the Resolution being passed at the U.N.H.Q., and only seconds after that, Secret Service and his secretary delivered a letter of the formal copy. The President immediately placed a direct call to the Admiral in charge of the 5th Carrier Strike Group, currently operating around Oceania, and delivered the message personally. Of course, he called an emergency meeting to the Situation Room within the next thirty minutes.
+++He'd soon found out that his own personal form of stress relief was to write bills, for whatever reason, and began to compose one about taxing fast-food restaurants for each item on the menu that did not meet government health standards, or something of the like, with variable tax rates. President Kepler didn't finish the bill, however, in time for the meeting at the Situation Room. He worried that with all of the bills he was passing, if the Democrats would spin it that he wasn't paying attention to his own wars.
Situation Room
+++From his seat - a comfortable one - in the Situation Room, however, he was very much on top of things. "Alright, boys, tell me what you have." A formal briefing of the President was delivered in less than five minutes after those words were spoken, and in detail at that. Not surprised at all, was the President, about anything going on, it seemed, including the rumors that Cassius may have been in a civil war.
+++However, the issue at hand was the UN Peacekeeping Force meant to extricate the Cassians and Gaians from the islands. He sighed, unsure what to order. "Tell the Admiral to ask nicely, that, on behalf of the U.N., the Cassians are ordered to leave the islands, and to take their little Gaian friends with them. After that, we wait and see what the Chinese do. Keep all Americans in the area on alert.
+++"And as for Africa?" Lance Kepler asked, wishing to know the state of his little lethal pet project for humanitarian goals, which, in his mind, killed at least three or four birds with one stone, at least one of those birds being the fact that it was the right thing to do.
+++"We've traced back the Janjaweed to a location near Khartoum." They said. "So far, the Sudanese Government knows nothing about our presence. No one does." The current highest ranking General in the Air Force spoke. "We know, for sure, about several vehicles and a few buildings. However, we are, of course, reluctant to bomb the buildings." He clasped his hands in front of him, speaking quite informatively, with a touch of doubt to his voice.
+++"Yes, Mr. President." This time, it was the General from the Army. "At the moment, we all agree it would be best to fly from either Diego Garcia or Tel-Aviv into Sudan with a platoon of Delta Force to raid the houses in the area, as well as destroy the vehicles. All of this to ensure there is no possibility for the Sudanese to argue that we didn't bomb a peaceful residence."
+++That made sense. They couldn't show that the video they had, then it would be evident that the Americans hadn't helped the supply convoy - even though it was blatantly obvious that they couldn't help them, any chance for the world opinion to swing against them, Kepler was sure it would. "From here on out, arm and Archangels we send out there with Small Diameter Bombs and anything else they see fit. CBU-97s, I believe, might make nice weapons. I don't care if we don't have something with which to trace back the Janjaweed to their hideouts, lives of the members of the convoys are the first things I want protected. If the Janjaweed flee, all the better, because then we can kill them as they sleep with a JDAM without having endangered anybody."
Diego Garcia Air Force Base
+++And so it was done. Halfway across the world, the QUE-7 made a quick RTB - as quick as it could, anyway - and was loaded up so heavily that one of it's hardpoints was required to be an extra fuel-tank just so it could use it's jet engines to make the take-off happen and still have full-tanks it they were needed. Six of the hardpoints were AIM-9Xs, two AIM-120Ds, and the remainder being enough SDBs, JDAMs, and CBU-97s to start a small war.
+++To aid them, of course, twelve F/A-22s had to be rerouted to Israel for rapid-response.

Coronado Naval Base, Coronado, California
+++It was no surprise, after having seen the recent news, to many about what was going on. Nearly 150,000 soldiers, 350 tanks, and over a thousand five-hundred various APCs and IFVs were being loaded up onto transports, some with LCACs, some without.
Pope Air Force Base, South Carolina
+++Just as in Coronado, there was no surprise to the 5,000 members of the 82nd Airborne Division as they were loaded up onto the C-17 Globemaster IIIs, sitting on the flightline. They'd all been gathered together for a special occasion - a very short deployment to Hickam followed by a longer deployment in other predictable Pacific locations.
Small town, 20 miles outside of Khartoum, Sudan
+++As two MV-22 Ospreys descended towards their target, passing below 3,000 feet, four F/A-22 Raptors laughed at the Sudanese Air Force for it's absence. 30 minutes later, all aircraft, including the sixteen total 1st SFOD-D Operators, as well as many crates marked "U.N.," along with video evidence from helmet cams of every soldier that those who were killed - everyone in the area, that was - had been a supporter of the Janjaweed in some way. As they left the country, every vehicle outside of the building detonated with a pound of C4 each.

The Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia ( 20301 )
Office of the Secretary of Defense
After siphoning through the various documents and emails received since his last visit to the office, Secretary Curtis was about to leave when a beep when off from the computer's speakers. The beep indictated a new message. Curtis sighed. He vacillated between sitting down for the lone message or moving on to more pressing matters. John plopped down back in the swivel chair and checked his last message. After reading through it, he was pleased with his decision as the message had to do with the conflict with Cassius. He would have to make another errand.
He left his office and walked down the hallway. He had never fully gotten use to the size of the Pentagon...17.5 miles of corridors...6,636,360 sq ft. It was massive. However, being a tenant for years now allowed John to know exactly where everything was. He would always note the size. He made an abrupt right turn and approached his colleague, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs (APSA). If anyone could give him expert knowledge on Cassuis, it would be him.
The Pentagon, Alrington, Virginia ( 20318 )
Joint Chiefs of Staff
Chairman Belmont sat at his desk going over the recent reports of military activity. He placed the report down and leaned back in his chair. Generally speaking, when you retire and take up a job afterwards, it is something you love to do -- a hobby, if you will. It's a way to get a little moe income but have it be a more personal occupation. This is all, of course, if you haven't had this kind of job your whole life. Although, usually you retire later...much later.
Christian never would have seen himself in this position. As he was Brigadiar General, he though t that this was where he would end his career. Then, he was offered this position and the Senate approved. It would have been a sign of disrespect to refuse such a position. It wasn't that he didn't want this job. He "retired" from military life. Now, he took up a job that he enjoys. That is helping to guide his country whcih he loves down the right path and with as many military conflicts arising now, he would have plenty of opportunities to do so.

+++President Kepler watched the news. What would James-Potts do? James-Potts wouldn't agree to the trade agreement with Westmarch... however, Lance Kepler had knew things to consider. Grudges were things that should be thrown out, and if Westmarch wanted to turn over a new leaf, America wouldn't disagree. After all, economic stimulus was a vital thing to a growing economy, and Kepler wanted to do the best he could with what he was given.
+++Accordingly, he petitioned Congress to reopen trade with Westmarch. When he saw the results, he felt slightly sick - the Democrats had put the petition over the edge on agreement - it was just a little over half on each side. Many Republicans, former James-Potts lovers, had disagreed with it, but many Democrats had agreed with it, and Kepler suspected those that hadn't just didn't like any idea a Republican had. Formally, yes, trade was now opened, and President Lance Kepler sent the appropriate messages to Westmarch and many companies that would benefit.

+++The President was still at his desk when the call came in. He needed to get to go and workout sometime soon, but his work was piling up on him. He hoped it would wane soon, but there was only a small hope in sight. "Hello?" He asked as he lifted his phone to his ear, realizing how old it was. He wrote down a note to a Secret Service to pass to someone in the Air Force to requisition a newer phone; one that looked nice. Maybe a shrubbery, too. "This is the President of the United States speaking."
+++Next, to cut down the mightiest tree in the forest with a herring...
Supreme Court Building
+++Quite some ways away from any forest, at a location where there were no European Swallows and therefore no coconuts (in addition to this location on the Eastern Seaboard being a Temperate Zone rather than a Tropical one) , and no African Swallows, for African Swallows being non-migratory, something very special was going on.
+++Inside the building, lo and behold, the Supreme Court was hearing a controversial case, one that could only happen in America. A man on Death Row was arguing that his sentence was too long. He'd have preferred that the whole matter would get over with, as he was guilty of killing at least eight people brutally - one of them murders on tape, no less, then raping one of the others with DNA evidence undoubtedly proving that he'd been the perpetrator - and there was no chance of him getting off without a full pardon, which was unlikely. Thusly, he wanted his sentence shortened. He claimed it was tortuous for someone to have to wait nearly a lifetime for the Death Sentence to be enacted, which was in itself a theoretical death sentence; only in America could it happen.
+++The Court obliged and ruled, as a new standard, that, under special conditions, a speedier and cheaper method of sentencing could be done - undeniable evidence would have to be presented, or at least undeniable to a degree, as well as at least two witnesses, one of whom would be required to be deemed reliable, or five relatively reliable with proof of no conspiracy amongst them. In addition, this would also entail a reduction in costs of committing people to Death Row.
Boeing IDS, St. Louis, Missouri
+++With the supervision of representatives - officers - of each branch of the US Military including the Coast Guard several units of MQ-160 Hummingbirds, formerly known as the A160 Hummingbird by Boeing, were being packed up into semi-trucks. Others could be seen, being built, but for now, each branch was receiving four of the aircraft for initial training, with each receiving another four squadrons - a dozen aircraft per squadron - (excluding the Coast Guard, who would only receive two) over the next month, with various orders being completed over time. They were to compliment, or in some aspects, overdo, the already in-use MQ-8 Fire Scout.

"President Temp Lance Kepler, this is Minister of defense Marco De la Rosa of the Socialist Republic of Vella Verde." The old general was quiet for a second as in the background the shuffling of papers could be heard. Now where did he leave that list... "I am speaking to you because I wish the help of your fine nation. As you know times are troubling. Constant strife riddles our planet and in times like these nations need the best tools to defend themselves with." By now the Minister was up and faxing the list to President Kepler. "I am hoping that you will help in my county's endeavour Presidente." De la Rosa said as he sat back down.
The details below would describe what was wanted. The Vella Verde Air Force wanted their Flankers to be as good as the Sukhoi Su-30MKI of the Indian Air Force or even better. A mix of Vella Verdean and American technology would be used for the upgrade. The upgrade will also make it into a multi-role aircraft but must keep its ability to as an air superiority fighter. It was a heavy order but the Tu-16's were less, all they wanted was for it to gain a radar system and other things so they could use it for maritime patrol.

+++The President listened intently, receiving the fax from his secretary as soon as it was received by the White House staff. He looked it over and thought. "I am not exactly an engineer, Minister, but I believe the first item on this list is perhaps a bit difficult, though not impossible. I'm sure you very well know that Russian and American aircraft are not exactly the best breeders, and our equipment might have difficulty fitting as needed." He clicked his tongue. "I'm sure if we bribed Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman enough, they would be happy to take on the challenge, though. As for the Tupolevs, I'm sure that would be a very minor undertaking by comparison."
Khartoum, Sudan
+++The Sudanese President practically yelled into the microphone. "The Americans have done it again, my friends! Once again, they have stepped onto Muslim soil and killed our women and children. Such violence shall not go unnoticed! Such deaths of innocent peoples shall not go unnoticed!." The rest of the speech was more of the same. The President claimed that innocent Sudanese civilians, including several policemen, had been killed by American raiders, whom had been traced through the 5.56mm shell casings - at least, that they were NATO, and presumed American.
+++All of this brought a smile to Kepler's face, and he ordered that the video tapes of the raid be released to the press as counter-evidence.

"How much would be needed?" De la Rosa asked as he took a quick check of his nation's defense budget. The last thing weapons they bought had been after the Chinese had gotten ah old of Siberia. The Russian's were easily tricked into selling some machinery on the cheap which vastly upgraded their defense industry and thus the great spending sprees of the old days had come to a stop. If they needed anything they could make it which meant the defense budget should of been cut down right? Well Vella Verde didn't exactly work as a perfect democracy, but then again who did? "Money is not a problem..."

Ace Icon Cowboy
((Damn, America is going downhill. What other country would send its mentally disabled to fight in a war?))
((Yeah. Mentally retarded. Here's the kicker for you: I know enough about science and mathematics that I'm going to be a full fledged Nuclear Physicist, working on Reactors for six years of my life, likely as an officer, and am probably going to get a Masters in Aerospace Engineering.
Yeah, mentally retarded.
Not only that, but with my test scores, I automatically qualified for Nuclear Engineering, which few people do.
Standard Sharr Post: "Blah blah blah, mentally retarded, blah blah blah, flaming homosexual."
Get with the program and start being nice and logical. I'm doing it, Veg is doing it, SP, Remir, and Naota - we are all being civil, nice, and all around good people to one another and making sure all combat stays IC. We admit our faults and attempt to fix them, even when only our IC enemies will benefit. We admit our losses, and do try to keep things quite fair.
Seriously. Try it for once, Sharr, or at the very least get creative with your insults or stop attempting to divert attention away from yourself, unless, of course, you have something to hide, neh?))
