Third Gate.
As the object was on its way to the Vindicator in the ground transport, Massive Third gate energy spikes began to shot out from the object.
Five portals opened up around the Vindicator and its escorts.Each portal ripping apart time and space between realities and dimensions between Third Gate and Real Space.Rushing out of the portals 3 Third Gate light Cruisers, 1 Heavy Cruiser, and 1 Death Dealer appeared.All 5 Third Gate ships immediately open fire at the Imperium with frontal weapons and heavy projectile turrets loaded with basic projectile rounds.
Along the sides of the Death Dealer 200 ship killer missiles along with 40 Third gate energy saturation missiles and 2 Third gate Pure ones missiles.All 40 Third Gate energy saturation missiles and the two pure ones missiles headed right for the Vindicator.
Two more Third Gate portals opened up behind the Vindicator as hundreds of Third gate type 1 and 2 Omega X fighters came threw swarming the Imperium trying to cut off all possible escapes.
On the command bridge of the Death Dealer Roshamaku Juggernaut form stood there watching as everything began to unfold.He looked off to his said and quickly said"Make sure the Third Gate Pure ones missiles hit the ship shields.Once everything is in place we will bored the ship and take the Third Gate fragment back"he then looked back and under a lower and dark whisper"So the leader of the Imperium wants to take something that even the ancient ones have forsaken and forgotten on this world to hide it from us.Let see how the ruthless dictator does against the forces of death and fear itself". "General Alert, all hands to combat stations. Admiral Davis to Command." An announcement was made over the internal coms .
Admiral Davis heard the alert from within his quarters and quickly made his way to Command.
Outside, the Third Gate ships began to fire on the Imperium vessels. Weapons fire pounded on the shields. Hundreds of drones were launched in defense and began to intercept any missiles and fighters that came within attack range. Next waves of fighters and assault craft were launched. The Escorts with the Vindicator returned fire, disruptor bursts and missiles lashed out towards the enemy ships.
Admiral Davis arrived at Command and saw the Third Gate fleet outside. The massive Command cruiser shook a bit as weapons fire continued to impact on the shields.
"Admiral, we have multiple Third Gate vessels all around us." The ships Captain reported.
Admiral Davis simple nodded, he moved to his spot and continued to watch the fighting.
"Make sure the craft carrying the fragment gets onboard safely." Admiral Davis ordered.
The landing craft with the fragment onboard was on final approach, a few Third gate fighters made moves at it, but where engaged by drones as they swooped down and fired a furry of energy bursts at them. The Vindicators hanger bay opened up and a few drones moved in to cover the landing craft. The craft quickly entered the bay and the doors sealed right back up.
"Landing craft aboard Admiral." The Captain reported.
Outside, one of the light cruisers escorting the Vindicator was now taking heavy damage from the Third Gate vessels. The shields were failing and weapons fire was now getting through and hitting the armor plating. Explosions appeared all over the hull, after a few more rounds the hull was breached. Several spots bodies of crew members began to float out into space due to decompression. Two Assault cruisers unleashed a full barrage of missiles and AP cannon rounds at the main Third Gate force in front of the Imperium fleet.
"Fire main cannons directly ahead, we need a path to escape." Admiral Davis ordered.
The main cannons, two modified Giga cannons began to charge up. During the energy build. the forward gun array on the Vindicator opened fire, firing AP rounds and disruptor bolts into the Third Gate forces. A single Heavy cruiser was holding off the aft threats, it continued to fire missiles and AP rounds at them, it also got into firing position of its main guns and Polaron Energy lanced out towards one of the Third Gate cruisers.
The Vindicators Giga cannons were at charge and two red beams lanced out in the middle of the Third Gate fleet.

The Bastion had taken massive damage to all systems. The huge hull breaches were weaken the hull integrity of the ship. hull stress alarms were sounded all over the Command deck.
"Commander, we need to evacuate the Bastion." The operations officer reported.
Commander Ketias agreed, he could feel the ship slowly begin to break apart.
"Agreed Lieutenant, get the evacuation order to all crew. Make sure none of them have weapons." Commander Ketias ordered.
After a few minutes an announcement was made over the internal coms.
"Attention all hands, evacuation order has been given. Make way to the nearest escape pod or landing craft. All personnel must be unarmed when leaving the ship. Anyone caught take a weapon will be shot on sight. I repeat, all hands evacuate."
Within minutes escape pods began to detach from the Bastion, a few landing craft also made there way out from the hangers. Just as one craft left, a massive explosion ripped through the engineering section. The hull was starting to give way, secondary explosions soon followed. The Bastion had only minutes left before the hull broke apart. Commander Ketias and what was left of the bridge staff made it to one of the escape pods. They all quickly got in and activated the launch program. The hatch sealed up and explosive bolts gave way, detaching the pod from the ship. Micro thrusters began to move the pod away from the Bastion.
Two more explosions ripped apart the command area, the massive breach on the starboard side continued to get larger, and larger. Finally two larger explosions tore the Command cruiser into four pieces, smaller explosions began to break up the larger pieces into smaller chunks. The Bastion was destroyed. Ketias exhaled and relaxed a bit in the pods safety harness. The pods would await pick up from the Dammerüng.
