Rules
Have Fun!
We are here to enjoy ourselves and so should you!
Respect Yourself and Others:
By that I mean create a character that reflects part of you or is the opposite, but be respectful of other people's characters. DO NOT post for them. They should be allowed to react or not however they choose. Only you truly know how your character will react.
Number of Characters Allowed:
All players are limited to two (2) different characters unless approved by Mods. It is much better to have 1-2 really good and descriptive posts per day than a dozen weak ones. Exceptions are given for many reasons though it usually is because somebody is running a quest and feels it would be handled the best by having separate accounts for major villains, etc.
You may ?retire? a PC account and play another if you would like. The MODS need to be notified, if this is the case. Retirement can be as simple as posting that they are out in the wilderness somewhere giving them an easy reentrance, it can be more permanent such as their death, or something in between such as being enslaved deep in an obsidian mine where it would take some effort to return.
OOC Notes:
The only OOC (out of character) notes allowed in the roleplaying forums are SL (storyline), GM (, and a note saying if you are going to leave that topic and enter a new one (like if your character is going from the main sky city to the collossum)
No Copyright Violations:
Nothing can be used that somebody, other than you or Character, can claim as their copyright, trademark, or whatever. Everything here needs to be original work
Balance Your Character:
Your character cannot become too powerful. They must have weaknesses and get wounded or having things not go their way now and again.
NO GOD MODING
Character Descriptions:
Before you can begin posting in character, you need to post a description of your character and it's location. The sample questions don?t have to be directly answered, but something should be written for each section.
Appearance: What does your character look like? What are they wearing?
Race: What race is your character?
Class/Occupation: Are they a warrior, mage, merchant, peasant, etc?
Goal: What are they trying to accomplish in both the short and long term?
Personality Traits: What is their personality like?
History: Where did they come from? What was their childhood like? Who are their friends/enemies? Where do they live? How wealthy are they?
Miscellaneous: What other information should we know about your character?
Character strengths and flaws. (do not count as flaws unless they are extreme. A flaw is something that can't be controlled by your character (missing limb, uncontrollable reaction to a certain stimulus, etc...). In other words, he has no choice but to do X or Y, a weakness is something controllable (extreme dislike of chocolate, hates wearing red). Being human is not now, nor will it ever be a flaw in DR. It's a human world and human beings live there, so being human is "normal" everything else is flawed.
No Auto Attacks:
You may not post anything that connects with the other player and does them physical harm or alters them in any way.
You may make physical contact, if it in itself does no real harm, though you must stop and let them respond before changing anything about them.
For example, actions such as grabbing a wrist, tackling, bear hugging, pulling, etc is ok. You can assume that the action was at least started, but you must let them respond to any damage inflicted. Here is a short example:
The ferocious orc grabbed the blonde?s wrist and pulled with all of his might in an attempt to smash her against the face of the cliff that loomed overhead.
The orc was able to automatically grab her wrist, but now has to wait to see if she was indeed smashed into the rocks, or if she was able to stop herself in some way.
If the other person doesn't post after your attack for a period of 48 hours (without that player notifying a mod that they will be gone), you can ask any mod that isn't directly involved in the fight to rule on the outcome of your attack. If all mods are out pm them. If there is a dispute, pm them.
Allowed Races:
Humans:
Common. All varieties, races, cultures, etc. Humans are the most common race in Rpg's.
Others:
Desert Elf (most common)
High Elf (fairly rare)
Wood Elf (very rare)
Half Elves (extremely rare)
Demons
Vampires
(Desert Dwarves)
Mountain Dwarves
Orcs
Shape Shifters:
Extremely rare, but people like to play them. There appears to be a race called the Xa'Cri(were-cats). There may also be werewolves somewhere. You are not allowed to make up a character that can mimic the appearance of others, only change shape into another animal.
You are allowed to make up new races, but please run it by One of the Owners.. before introducing it.
