"What? So you're saying this brother of yours could challenge Kinza?" Lee reflected on Kinza's sizable control over the elements, which is what made him such a fantastic airship pilot. "Hey, don't get me wrong. Fortuna can wipe out those pirates alone if she wanted to," While skeptical, he spoke highly of his leader. "But I was hoping that maybe instead you guys could use a little diplomacy. Honor among thieves, right?"
Though the Moerae Clan were well affiliated with of the loosely-knit, barely-scraping-legal Gambino pirate alliance, Lee knew not the ways of the sea-faring buccaneer. He was a thief reserved for terra firma, despite all the traveling he was accustomed to. Piracy was a different story; it had a whole bunch of codes and rules he wasn't familiar with.
"Well... if you really think you need the other pirate lords, I'll talk to Kallias about 'em." Lee agreed to, begrudgingly, whilst glaring down Mel and Jo. "You just make sure you keep an eye on these ladies, mate. And tell 'em to stay outta my way!" He barked at the two women, being Neon's most ill-tempered cousin. "Listen, I may admit that lapdog of a cousin of mine is law now, but that doesn't mean I gotta trust these vixens."
He put a hand out to Jessie the pirate. "Go beam yourself over to Frosty the Snowman and get him over here, and I'll get the word on where the rest of your pirate-buddies are. You can count on it. Savvy?"

Lee Enfield arrived shortly by Jesse's side to inspect the message in paint. At first he might've thought it was Neon's work, but his cousin wasn't versed in elvish, as far as he knew.
"What's that, elvish?" Lee asked, removing his cap to scrub his red hair. Before Hawk could give him the look, he explained, "Hey, I can't read it, you're still gonna hafta tell me what it says. And I sure as hell know Leon can't have wrote it." He eyed Jesse suspiciously, spotting that sparkle in his scarlet eye. He was intrigued.
Fishing into his wallet, he offered Sy a small wad of cash. "Don't tell nobody we was here, we understood?" He told the stranger, before cocking a brow at Jesse. "Now what made you change your mind all the sudden, Cap'n?" He asked, pointing at the elvish message. "What's it say?" Lee, unlike his cousin Fortuna, was less likely to take a leap of faith, but something in Hawk's eye almost made him want to...
Making a gesture, he silently agreed to Jesse's proposition and started walking the other way. Meanwhile, he'd begin typing an anonymous message into his mobile...

Lily was new here and didnt know anyone so she just sat in the recruiters office and waited to see where she would be going . She had heard about this pirate and that they needed more crew there but had never seen him before either
[GMHQ - Recruiting office - Cobblepot's Office]
The recruiter walked into the office, scanning over a clipboard with roughly ten pages of small print attached to it. He was thin and gaunt, around the age of forty. He had light grey hair that was combed back, and short but straight beard that was well groomed. Dull green eyes peered out from above it. He was dressed in a uniform that screamed presentation over usefulness, adorned with badges and knee high boots. He was clearly not someone who went into the field anymore, but attended meetings and filled out the massive piles of paper work thrown his way.

From a distance, he looked humorless, emotionless, and perhaps even cruel like someone that would scrutinize and fuss over every detail and sentence people to weeks of hard labor for a single fault.

But he cracked a warm smile and that facade fell away quickly, and he suddenly looked like a kindly, tired old grampa as his prim and proper stance fell away into a slumped shoulders and a slow walk over to the desk. Clearly his leg had previously suffered some kind of damage. He looked like he might have needed a cane but was currently unaided. "So, Your records say you've had experience in military settings before. Hm." He looked thoughtfully at the page, before sitting down at the desk she was seated in front of. "I trust these records are accurate, but just the same, some light training might be a good start for you so that we can properly gauge your abilities before sending you headfirst into the field." He laid the clipboard down, turning his gaze over to her face. He looked her dead in the eyes as he was trained to do with everyone in casual cases. " Truthfully, We've not had a full blown war since the G-bot invasion a few years ago. We've mostly been tending to domestic disturbances. There's a hostile take over happening in Aekea right now and an uprising on the Gambino Isles. Providing your training runs go well, that is where your first duties will take place."

He pulled out something beneath the papers and slid it across the desk. It was an ID card with the name "Lily Rose" on it. "Report to the training grounds east of here, and ask for Sergeant Dawn Burnaby. Tell her your name and badge number, and that Cobblepot sent you. She'll get you set up, and she'll tend to your training. Any questions?" He smiled again, inviting questions.

She nodded her head as he spoke and hoped that this meant that she was one of them now. She was a little nervous and wanted to get things done . " Where is this person that I need to talk to ? " she politely asked him as she sat there listening to everything that he had to say to her.

[GMHQ - Recruiting office - Cobblepot's Office]
He smiled again. "On second thought, I'll just escort you over there." He fumbled around under his desk and indeed produced a cane. It was a long metal stick with Johnny Gambino's head on the end. A gift for ten years of service. Or maybe it was twenty, he had forgotten.

[Gambino Base - Training Grounds]
Cobblepot and the new recruit made their way from the recruitments offices and scurried their way to the training grounds - a dusty cement top that hadn't looked like it'd been swept in years. But, nonetheless, the prospects, as she called them, were all out there either jogging in squads or polishing rifles. Small stuff.

Dawn emerged from the barracks from the side, the door flung open as the string of freshly awoken soldiers came marching out. She wore a black beret, a brass GM emblem stitched onto the side of it, a black blazer with golden buttons, sharp blue tie and a black pencil skirt. Her eyes, a wicked green color complimenting her strawberry red wavy hair, shoulder length.

As she walked, the men and women behind her followed closely. Dawn's eyes shifted to the Cobblepot, then to the new recruit. She took in a deep breath, then slowly let out a sigh as she turned to her troops, heels clicking on the concrete.

"Split."

And the recruits split into two lines both facing the front, where the two stood. "Cobblepot," she smiled warmly, making her way over to the two before turning to the new recruit.

With a rather emotionless stare, she put her hands behind her back and stood straight, strict, strong. "And you are?" She adjusted her glasses, quirking an eyebrow and waiting for a response.

*Four steps, the cloaked cloak shrouded figure froze in mid step as Jessie hailed him, looking for all the world as though someone had reached out a physically restrained his movement but for the abruptness with which he stopped as his name was called. Four steps, facing away as he had been the fanged scowl that creased the pale sharp features hidden within the shade of the deep drawn cowl...four steps...he had gotten four steps and been spotted. As filled with frustration at having allowed himself to be spotted out as he was Sy turned, crossing the distance through the crowd, some of which all but scrambled out of his way as though perhaps on some dim level they could sense that blocking his path might well spell their own doom as well it might have at that moment as he came to stand before Jessie at last.

His lips parted to speak the words died upon his tongue as the pirate captain, friend of the one he called Teacher, after his own fashion, one of the few of this plane let alone of any other in the infinite spiral of the multiverse to have walked the halls of the place said Teacher called home...began to speak before him. As he was adressed, again by name aloud here in the public eye he felt his anger boil, the pressure of his presence nothing at all human though accepting again who he was...WHAT he was...such a thing was far from surprising the facade of the well hidden blue grey eyes below the cowls shade burned away by the crimson fire that even then glowed in baleful radiance within their depths, standing out as clearly as a spotlight in the dead of night as the man asked his aid. Truth told it would have been possible, nigh perhaps even a trivial thing for him to render aid but that was not the point in the matter. This was not his place in which to meddle he had in fact taken to great lengths to avoid dabbling yet here he was. Fanged mouth open to speak these very words again he was cut short that baleful glare turning from Jessie to Lee. Dropping to the proffered hand holding the wadded crumple of currency.*

"If any need to forget who it is they have seen here this day it is perhaps my good fellows the two of you"

*The words were less perhaps spoken as so much as hissed, the menace in its tone almost a thing palpable in sensation. He had come to deliver a message, nothing more and nothing less and now here he was in the public eye of this world bartering words, being offered a bribe, a pittance as Jessie perhaps alone save for Osiris knew to himself. From within the heavy fall of the thick cloak, its black surface upon inspection this close looking to be of no weave of fabric identifiable to this plane a hand lifted into view, the fingers long cleverly dexterous in appearance almost spidery in thinness the flesh covering it as pale almost as parchment, the air above the proffered hand...flickered...that was perhaps the closest one might come to describing what they had seen afterwards if asked...reality itself seeming to distort for the barest of moments the empty air above the palm having been filled...where the hand had emerged empty a small but rather dense statute now rested upon the upturned palm. Carved in the likeness of a curled and sleeping dragon the statue glimmered and gleamed in the manner only a thing cast of pure and solid gold could, each scale inlaid in small but precocious stones outlining every finely sculpted detail, a trinket though one worth twice and then again a rich man might earn in two or more years of hard labor and savings...there in one moment...and then as the air flickered once more in the oddly disquieting way it had before above his palm...gone again leaving the pale hand empty. A simple showing but then and again enough to speak that such a bribe was less incentive and more insult than anyone might have cared to guess. This accomplished those baleful eyes once more turned to Jessie as Sy spoke once more*

" I am Lily Rose and I am new here . I hope that we can get things moving along so that I can help out with the latest skirmish that is happening?" she replied and stood tall and upright as she talked to the other recruiter.

"Rather... casual... for a recruit. Typically, you would snap your heels together and salute to a superior officer. I read your file... you have military experience, no?" she sighed as she tilted her head.

"I've been told, with the background that you have, we should be getting you acclimated and familiar as soon as possible. Follow me, please." As they began walking, she turned and stopped again, looking at Cobblepot.

"What's this, the retired director of paperwork and trafficking responsibilities is gracing us with his presence? Ha!" she scoffed at her own joke. "If you would like to join us, sir, please follow the recruits to the mezzanine."

She turned to the 2 rows of new recruits. "About face," the men and women turned accordingly, "show Director Cobblepot to the observatory. Ms. Rose, on me, please."

They made their way into the training facility, fresh recruits and cobble atop the auditorium like staging as Dawn and Lily entered the room from one end. The floors were solid concrete, not much bigger than a basketball court. A few stains looking like oil and maybe blood speckled the ground. Dawn reached for her clipboard.

"Alright, let's begin," her voice boomed, the doors at the other end of the stage slid opened and three soldiers in fatigues, Kevlar and goggles emerged from the back room. Blocks of concrete rose from the floor, providing 6 foot tall cover - the blocks randomly placed, but enough for each side to be fairly balanced with protection.

A cart of weapons were wheeled out to Lily - grenades, pistol, SMGs, fully auto, mini machine guns, etc.

"Pick wisely, you have your choice of two. Each are loaded with paint bullets, nonlethal, but for your safety, please put these on," she handed her goggles. "The bullets travel as fast and as accurately as the real thing."

Dawn pointed to the other end, with the cover before her, seeing the other soldiers from where they stood was impossible. The concrete blocks, now forming walls, had created an artificial maze like stage.

"Your objective is simple. Infiltrate and retrieve the flag at the other end of the field. Take out the guards or sneak passed, either way is acceptable. Got it? Good."

"Alright, Lily, show me something impressive." She sketched something on her clipboard and waiting to see what weapons she would choose.

::He smirked watching Lee work. Handing money over to Sy, did Sy even care about money in the same sense that the people of this world did? He wasn't even sure anymore.::

"I' be a form o' Elvish, Drow to be exac'. The language o' the Dark Elves."

::Jessie put his hand on his chin and rubbed it a bit before clearing his throat.::

"For the mos' par' i' be a message from Palin, lettin' me know he hear' me call. The message be pretty cryptic. Bu' he is askin' to mee' me a' the begin'. Where i' all began, our friendship. Tha' was on me ship, the O. Which means he may be there waitin' fer me."

::He looked over to Sy, to see if he was going to help out in any way.::

"So ye see mate, I can' be goin' if I be neede'. If Palin is here, he is much better a' enchantments an' should be able to mel' Fang's icey prison with ease. Any questions mate?"

::Jessie rolled his eyes. Long ago when he first met Sy, Sy was a bit of a pain in the behind. It looks like, even after all this time the demon for lack of a better term was nothing more then the same thing. Signing he looked over to Lee with his cash and waved it away. Clearing his throat Jessie spoke words to Sy, words that he had not spoken in a long time. He was surprised that they still flowed so well off of his tongue. Yet it felt great to speak his native language again. Anyone standing near by could tell Jessie was being stern, he wasn't giving a command, but he was defiantly standing up to Sy. Sy was not his to command, but neither was he for Sy to command. He simply asked the student of his brother to help if he could. Yet all he needed to simply say was no. Instead Sy showed that he was upset. At this current moment the area Hawk was meant to control was in civil unrest. He didn't give a damn about someone's anger and feeling because one person or another had no knowledge of the man. He would not stand for it.::

::After that, Jessie then turned his focus onto Lee. How to explain all of this now. He would just have to keep it simple for now. Sy may very well one day be the end of him, however at this point, he would not be. With luck, Palin would be able to keep a leash on the lad for a while longer. For now though he would need to find his first mate.::

Savvy?"

"You know where to look for him, though what help he could be in removing an enchantment is dubious...you know this already Hawk...remember time here is not on your side...and please...the next time you catch sight of me standing in the crowd unless you want to deal with the collateral of what drawing attention to me will bring...a bit of discretion"

*The change in the man's...if well he could have even been thought of in such a limited term...tone was nothing short of unsettling. The almost seething irritation and sibilant hiss of rage gone as though they had never been...the words were calm, almost friendly as of one bantering with an old friend not seen for a long time. One could never be quite sure what direction Sy Bloodwrath would go...Jessie had a more fair inkling than others. Turning he lifted a hand into the air as he set his stride away arm waving lazily from side to side in a lazy farewell.

Gaian's....this ripe and relatively untapped hub world populated by these soft...pliant creatures. It was well and good he spent no more time here than necessity bid...the nature of his being screaming against all of his willpower to tap into this plane...to feast and bend it to his whim...but Sy was slave to no one...no thing in high heavens above or pits below could claim itself his master and even that damned elf was granted the respect only that he had earned....no best he not linger on for the call of the land was strong, a beating pulse in a vulnerable vein ready to be tapped. Cast in the shade of his cowl his tongue ran out slowly teasing along the gleaming length of his fangs...some might have called him vampire and while true he wore the guise he was as no paltry walker of the night had ever been nor could hope to be...some could call him demon perhaps a bit closer to the mark...but none here would know save perhaps if the pirate elf his Teacher and old friend had attached himself to decided to break confidence beyond what was safe...but that was a matter for another time. Reaching the mouth of an alleyway he paused...cocking his head to the side as though hearing something only audible to himself listening close before nodding a single time stepping forward into the shadows cast by the buildings sides...and abruptly vanishing from view as though he had been nothing but a trick of the eye*

((Annnnd... Cutting over to Luna. =p ))

((*catches* I'm up!))

She looked over the weapons that she was given to work with and finally came to the decision to pick the mini machine gun. She then looked over at Dawn and was wondering what to do next but kinda felt like that would be easy so she put her goggles on and noticed the training area was surrounded by walls and she kinda wasnt sure how to get around them .

((Hey Catlady... Imma call you CL! CL... you should probably reread my post, I stated the objective of the exercise pretty clearly, I think, but if you have questions, feel free to ask. Also, the character you are interacting with at the moment is Dawn, not Luna. Let me know if you're having trouble with my post and we could work through it. After you're done reading my post, I would ask you to tweak your post just a tad so it makes sense to the situation.

Example: there are blocks between your character and the 3 other soldiers. 6 feet tall and impossible to see where your opponents are from where our characters are standing. Plus, the mission here is to retrieve the flag from the other end of the basketball-sized arena that you're in. Cool?

I look forward to reading your new post!))

It didn't take Hawk's advise for Lee to deposit his cash back into his wallet. The thief scowled sourly at the venomous superiority this elitist snake was spitting. While he as well not not versed in elvish, especially this dialect, it didn't take a multilinguist to detect snide remarks and combative expressions.
"I think your boy just tried to threaten me, Hawk," Lee replied crossly, once "Sy" had made himself scarce. Nodding in agreement to Jessie's proposition, he had up and finished his text, burying his phone back into his trousers. "Are all of your informants vamps? And assholes? >_>" Lee questioned, but this business was never short of its sleezy getaround-knowitalls. Speaking of which...
"Oh! By the by, I got my cousin working on tracking down your VIPs..." Lee said, walking Hawk back to their car, paying little mind to Mel and Jo. "She's runs the informants around this town - if it's happened, chance are, she heard it first. I hope that ship 'a yours has good signal?" As he escorted himself back into his vehicle, and gave the chauffeur the update, he waved goodbye to the girls.
"Au revoir, ladies! We got a flight to make! Good luck thawing your TV dinner!" And off they went...
( GUYS! I'm so sorry I missed you all this Christmas! D8 Merry Christmas, GMers! I've been so busy with work and CHRISTMAS. x_____x How was your holiday? ^____^ Mine was swell! I got a Lego Movie tee, a ceramic Yoda mug, a gift card to the movies, and a KRAMPUS TEE SHIRT.

Why is Krampus not Gaia canon yet.

That said, what did you guys get for Christmas? xD If you celebrate! In any other case, genuinely how was your holiday? ^-^ )
( Guys, let's be real. Isle de Gambino would make a perfect setting for the next Far Cry. x'D )
