The bridge had been finished. He walked across it, as it was now down over the ditch/soon-to-be moat, and then entered the gatehouse. He first cranked a lever, the pulleys and levers inside the bridge itself creaking as the thing rose surprisingly fast and slammed into the side of the gatehouse, a bit of dust falling from the ceiling. He then pulled down hard on two levers to the right of the bridge lever, both gates to the gatehouse slamming down as the steel spikes on the front of them went into their corresponding holes in the ground and locked tightly. He then shot them back up just as quickly.

He went and tacked a message to a bulletin inside the gatehouse.

Need help from a Gaian fire department in filling the moat with water. Request help if you get the chance.

Following this was another little note, scrawled on the bulletin board beneath the upper post.
