Christopher sighed, as he poured out the last drop of his concoction,
and watched as a ten foot boulder, turned into pure gold. " Well that's going
to be heavy to move.." He sighed, fumbling through his table for a pick axe.
" Time to start chipping." Clank, clank, clank. The boulder started deteriorating,
and soon it was turned into a pile of golden rocks. Christopher put each of
them into a wheel barrel, and pushed it out the door. Upon opening the door,
a long green puff of the putrid chemicals went outside. Immediately, his
flowers he had been planting for about a month, wilted. " s**t." He sighed, as
he slowly picked up the wheel barrow, and drove into the store. " Hello Mister
Charleston." He smiled, as he unloaded the gold onto the desk. " How much
would this all be?" He asked hesitantly. " About, a thousand coins flat?" Mr.
Charleston shrugged, with about 5% off from the gold being still not melted
into bars. " I guess I'll take that" Christopher reached for his money pouch,
carefully tugging the tip of it, because if he touched any other part, his fingers
would disintegrate. " Mmm. I see you've put a fine hex on that, " Mr Charleston
inquired, as he dumped the coins into the pouch. " Have a nice day Chris! " He
waved, as Christopher took his leave

Her Side of The Story

The shop was crowded today and it was perhaps because of the coming Festival. And that means there's more work for her and for everyone else to do.
"Falleryn, dear, can you please hand me a bag of potpourri? They're in the upper shelves."
Madam Esmeralda, one of the elder healers, kept her from getting distracted.
"Oh, certainly Madam," Falleryn answered. She reached for the upper shelves which are covered with thick layers of dust.
"This festival's got everyone in a nerve wreck," the old lady said with exhaustion in her face.
"Yes, but it does sounds fun from what I've heard," Falleryn said stroking her long silvery blue hair and watching her two pet parakeets, Kairi and Meiru, perched on a tree nearby. "But, I wonder, what is the festival for, Madam?"
"It is in the honor of a princess who is betrothed to our prince," Madam Esmeralda said, now heating the potpourri which gave a rather pungent fragrance in the air. "That reminds me, his Royal Highness wants to give her a welcoming present but he doesn't know just what to give her."
"Well, flowers always makes me happy," Falleryn suggested, "and I have the most beautiful flowers that I'm sure even the Queen of Darkness wouldn't be able to refuse."
"Excellent," Madam Esmeralda exclaimed happily, "Why don't you go deliver them to the palace yourself?"
Falleryn hurriedly went to the garden, picked the rarest and most lovely flowers and arranged them in a bouquet.
She then headed to the Grand Palace of Pathur where she finds everyone quite busy with the preparations. She approached one of the servants who are tending over the details.
"Excuse me, but where can I place these?" Falleryn asked.
"Oh, those shall be placed over there," the lead servant said. She indicated a glass table with an eccentric vase placed on top.
"Oh, are these the gifts I will present to the Princess?"
A young man, probably a few years older than her, entered the room. He had light blond hair and eyes as green as the forests of Pathur. He had an air of Royalty though he wasn't wearing a crown yet he was clad in fine clothes only the wealthy can afford to wear.
"Your Highness," the lead servant said and he bowed. Following his lead, Falleryn also curtsied.
"A good day to you, Your Highness," Falleryn said.
"And a good day to you, too," the Prince said. "So, these are the presents for the Princess?"
"Yes, Your Highness," the servant said.
"They look wonderful," the Prince said examining them, his green eyes shining brightly with happiness. "And these flowers, they look extraordinary. I'm certain she'll like them."
"I am too," Falleryn said.

Making your life impossible...
..is part of my everyday job

"Wearing a flower on the head is even weirder,I'll say"

Mayu wanted to kill Kai.Can't he keep his mouth shut for at least a second?! The demon race had a more advanced hearing, and even if Kai mummbled for himself, the woman sure heard that.Mayu turned to glare at Kai,mentally yelling at him to shut up.
She bowed in front of the woman as well,as it was impolite not to answer to her bow.
" We would like some simple clothes, for the both of us,if you may." She smiled, clearly showing the woman that she won't give out any details concerning their story.

"Something that won't seem suspicious" -added Kai.

The woman stared at the two, then retired in a room in the back to get the clothing.
Mayu glared at Kai. "How many times did I tell you retard to keep your mouth closed?! Don't go on making people suspect us! We have to act and look just like the people in Mirth! We don't know who stole the amulet! Why are you.."
Mayu gasped.Slowly, she turned her eyes to the girl on her right. Crap, she forgot that the girl was still here! She smiled, and turned with her back to Kai.

"Kai...I think we should repay our guide for helping us out.Why don't you get some gold out of my small drawstring at my back?"

Kai looked at her confused. " There's nothing at your back."
Mayu frowned. "Good joke. Now get those gold coins out."
Kai grabbed her dress, turning it so that Mayu could see the back of her dress, and at the same time, making her "eek!" as he revealed her bottom to the world.
Indeed,there was nothing there.

.Mayu froze in horror, remembering the centaur in the market.

So it was planned! That centaur robbed her!
Kai understood her look. "Don't tell me..At that time.."

The owner of the shop returned with the clothes. She stopped, staring confused at Kai.He was still holding Mayu's dress up.
"Eeer..If the lady needs some help undressing..Maybe it will be more convenient if I helped.."
She stared at their horrified faces. "Is..something wrong?"
Mayu gulped. Kai let her dress down, and inhaled a deep breath of air.He smiled, and Mayu could recognize what kind of smile was that. He's switching to "prince charming" mode!
"Dear madam, could I speak to you in private?"
Mayu grabbed his hand."What.."
He removed his hand from hers, smiling at her. Then he grabbed the woman by her hip,and they both retired in the room at the back.

Mayu sighed, turning to the girl at her right.
"I'm really sorry for this.But you helped us,and I promised a reward,so here.."
She took off a ring from her right hand,a beautiful blue stone passed down from her ancestors.Mayu really didn't need it's magical powers, since she was a mage from the start, but she wasn't quite sure what kind of magic does it held. She never used it,so she wouldn't know, but she hoped it will be of use to the girl.
"It's magic, even though I don't know what powers does it have. But I'm sure that if you want money, you'll sell this at a high price."
She put the ring on one of her fingers. She was slim, just like Mayu, and it was perfect on her finger. The stone sparkled when it touched the skin of the girl.
"By the way,you didn't tell me your name. I'm Mayu."

At the same time,Kai came out of the room, smiling triumphantly, followed by the young woman.
Mayu couldn't help but giggle at her flushed face.
"Let's get dressed,shall we?" Kai winked,passing her a dark-green dress.

It didn't take her long to maneuver through the crowd, but it did take her a while to actually find the shop. Jun was pretty dang short, and all the buildings made this place look like giant country to her. How in the heavens name Jun was the daughter of an elf and still this short, she did not know. However, she soon found the store she had been looking for. 'Fai's Clothing Emporium' loomed ahead of her, and she ran forward, eager to speak with the woman that ran the store. Keeping her money close, she shoved her way through a crowd of creatures, praying that no one followed her, nor held a grudge for her unfeminine action of shoving them aside. When she reached the store, to her dismay, she found a 'Sorry, We're closed.' sign hanging from the door. "Oh, of all the luck!" The young girl sighed. "I must make it back in time for the festival! Miss Emma will be worried if I don't!" That shop was probably the only shop in the whole of Mirth that was closed!

She checked when the shop would open, which would be in two hours. She didn't have that kind of time, so she began to look for another shop. It was hell getting through the crowd, especially since she was going against the flow. As she shoved her way through, using her size to her advantage, she noticed people staring at her. Or rather, her money. She held the bag even closer, ears folding to her head. Why, oh why, were people so infuriatingly greedy!? Squeezing through a gap in a group of Dark Elves, Jun found herself rounding a corner. She nearly slammed into a cenataur with a bag of money, but she managed to swerve around them. However, her tail wasn't as lucky. "Yeowch!" The young girl hissed, her tail swinging in front of her protectively. A few tears gathered in her eyes as she checked the shops near her. A well-known shop would be best... but none of the shops seemed that well known... With a sigh, the girl found a nearby alleyway and hid there, watching the crowd. She was having a very off day, and soon, she would start screaming at the next thing to slam into her, or to even touch her tail!

She took a deep breath, let it out in a sigh, and ran her hand through her hair. "Oh dear. I do so hope Miss Emma and... Er... Faellyn? Are doing better than I am." She would wait a minute before setting out again. Maybe she'll be able to find a decent shop? Or maybe she just wasn't looking hard enough.

- And that is how I was raised -
User Image A hand full of claws reached out longingly to the fleeing fairy as her wings carried her away from ghastly creature she'd encountered. She hadn't been the first to run away from the shadowy manifestation and somewhere in the back of his mind, he knew she wouldn't be the last. But was just a hound of the Wild Chase and instinct told him to chase. Kopie's legs moved uncertainly forward, propelling him after the terrified soul who's only fault was that she ran from him. The uncanny blackness that hovered about the shadow trailed behind him and faded like thin smoke.

The chase did not last long, every time she'd looked back the hound was closer than before until eventually she felt pressure at her back and the petite balance many a fairy possessed leave her. She tumbled down a steep bank and rested at foot of it with a loud thud. Kopie looked down at the fairy, now unconscious, from the summit of the bank. He slid down and came to stop beside her studying her and noticing something about her back. He rolled her over, less than gently, and looked at her red stains in her clothes; blood. His head tilted curiously, he'd never seen blood, not even while running with the Wild Hunt. It wouldn't register to him that he'd caused the lacerations because he'd never used his claws or teeth offensively or defensively. His ears perked at the sound of voices calling out a name close by. A sudden wave of guilt hit the hound and he quickly dashed away, fading onto the spectral plane, leaving a small haze of darkness in his wake.

Christopher ran down the streets, and back into his house. He started packing for another trip.
" Time to go back to Togath, those glacier's are really worth the effort to alchemize them.
A thousand dollars would pay for a round trip, with luxuries, and maybe even a carriage.
Christopher smiled, as he turned the alchemist's house sign from Open, to Closed. As he
grabbed his bags, he took the key to the store, and put a hex on every window, and the
door so it would be ensured that the place was not robbed. He paid a visit to Mister
Charleston, and paid him a farewell, and entrusted him with the key to the house, in case
of an emergency, which would unlikely happen. A few hours later, he found himself on the
road to Togath, covered in fine furs, in a carriage with two horses and a driver. Note to

User ImageKopie continued to run from the scene, despite not being able to be seen. Guilt, like many emotions, was not something he was familiar with all he knew was the feeling of negativity it gave him. He looked back as he dashed away and soon falling victim to a fate similar to the fairy's. He tumbled over the edge of cliff. Below him was black abyss, all phantasms knew what it was. Oblivion, an eternity of nothing in every direction, inescapable once the spirit fell too far.

Kopie reached out as the space around his paw distorted, desperately hoping to catch hold of something in the material realm. Suddenly, the ghoul was yanked to a stop as his claws dug into something hard. His impending doom seemed to fall away from around him as he pasted back into the material realm. Kopie looked back to see what was once his spectral surrounds fade away like an fast evaporating puddle.

Unsurprisingly, he was in a completely different place. The spectral realm was like that though. Once you passed into it and moved around the material realm seemed to move at breakneck speeds. Do to planet it rotation, it wasn't at all rare for beings to cross over to the plane, not move and the go back only to find themselves in a completely different spot they had entered in.

Kopie looked up to see a bright blue sky, definitely not the forest he'd just left. He looked around more spotted a large bustling town no too far away. There was then a loud screech as Kopie slid downward. Kopie looked around swiftly before sliding down again and slipping backwards through the air before crashing to ground. The spirit hound looked about, he'd latched on to a roof of what looked to be a shop. His ears perked up, upon hearing the door opening and somebody exiting the building, swearing. Quickly, he crawled into a bush and watched the demon come around the corner to investigate where Kopie had fallen and knocked over trash cans. He'd seen few like him in the forest before, the large horns adorned with bells and chains reminding the haunt of those he'd "met" in the forest of Pathur.

Elvira stood before the mirror as she finished clasping the last of the buckles of her thick, hooded cloak. She examined herself to make sure she was well prepared for her long journey. ‘The world should fear for what is about to come…’ She smirked and grabbed her bag, filled already with the necessary items needed for her mission and left her bedroom.

She stood before her front door, taking in the stillness of her surroundings. She looked up at the moon, still high in the black, cold night sky. A howl echoed in the not to far distance and she set off into the woods, taking the howl as a signal for her to begin her journey. She quickly made her way down the small, nearly non-existent path into the forest and nearly disappeared within the shadows of the trees and the unknown.

It did not take her long to re-appear near the broken gates of the corrupted city of Kratos, stepping forward through the gate and into the ruined and dangerous streets. Usually for a human, the streets are very dangerous, and it would be very difficult to navigate oneself without getting caught by a demon or a vampire – sometimes even both. But Elvira was a special case. She did not fear the creatures of the land in fact she embraced them. No one took her seriously when she first appeared, but after killing a group of demons from being cornered, no one messed with her.

She disappeared within the shadow of a ruined building and re-reappeared at the entrance of the black market place. It was bustling with activity, filled with every creature of the land. She drifted through, not once approached by anyone in fear of being hexed, cursed or even worse.

Elvira approached the large gate that separated Kratos with the rest of the world and drifted through the crowd, past the doors and onto the path that would lead her to her much needed treasure.

Chaya watched the shopkeeper get the clothes at the back of the room and stared at the ceiling, nervous as she was left alone with the two human like creatures. She didn't mean the eavesdrop, but the lady in red suddenly talked very loud. 'We have to act and look just like the people in Mirth! We don't know who stole the amulet! Why are you..'She said, but stopped and turned around, looking at Chaya and smiled. Chaya smiled back. A stolen amulet? She thought, Who are these people? But she quickly shook of that thought: she just wanted the reward she hoped to get. But what if this man and woman were not to trust at all and actually two bad guys? Two thieves hoping to find shelter within the busy streets of Mirth?
When the lady started about the promised reward Chaya put on best smile and waited for the coins. When the man with the blond hair searched for the coin bag which used to be strapped
on her bag, and it not find it, it pulled up her dress and she screamed. But she quickly froze, like she remembered something. Apparently her companion understood her look, but Chaya watched them in confusion,
At the same time the Demon woman came back from the room in the back of the story, holding clothes in her hands. She stared at the woman in red. 'Eeer..If the lady needs some help undressing..Maybe it will be more convenient if I helped.' She said, while Chaya giggled softly, but then looked at their faces and knew something wasn't right, 'Is..something wrong?'
The next moment, the man took the Demon vendor into the room of the back of the store and Chaya held her breath. What was going on? She thought and looked up at woman. 'I'm really sorry for this. But you helped us,and I promised a reward,so here..' She lady said. She took of the ring from her right hand and she put it on Chaya's finger who stared at it: it was beautiful and according to the woman in front of her it had powers. Magical powers or not, Chaya was enchanted by the blueish glow that radiated of the stone. 'It's pretty,' She mumbled and looked up and hesitated a bit before telling her name: she had tried very much to avoid telling her name, but now she couldn't just evade the question,'I'm Chaya Firmwood.'
She bowed slightly, and continued staring at the floor,' But why would you give me your ring?' Chaya said, 'It's looks so very important.. I thank you very much for giving me this, but are you sure?'
Chaya stared at the stone on her finger and smiled as the Mayu's companion returned with the Demon vendor.

All it takes is one lullaby,

Lucy bent over her work table, completely immersed in the bell she was making. She carefully folded up the leaves of the sheet metal that would eventually create the bell's shape, and dropped a small steel ball into it. Like closing up the petals of a flower, she finished off the sleigh bell. Lifting the small wonder to her ear, she shook it. As the tiny jingle rang out, she smiled to herself and placed the bell in a dish with other similar sized ones.

She continued this until the dish was full, then slid off her stool and walked into the front of the shop. Her eyes traced along the shelves - stocked with bowls of varying designs, shapes, colours and sizes of bells - looking for the right match to the ones in her dish. It was a slow procedure, as the woman who owned the shop had a bizarre way of sorting the bells, so that it took Lucy quite a while before she located the correct bowl. She poured the bells in with the rest - this was her favourite part - and listened to the rush of the metal jingling, before retreating into the back room to repeat the process.

User Image Kopie watched the demon from the bushes, tilting his head curiously as he grumbled and looked around for a culprit. The hound was well hidden in the bushes and silent as could be, though. Unless the shop owner came looking for him, he wouldn't spot Kopie. Talking lowly to himself, the demon began to pick up the containers and garbage that had been housed inside them. He kicked a few food scraps into the bushes too annoyed with dilema and certain some animal would find a nice meal in them.

Kopie moved out of the way as an apple core came rolling into his hiding place. The curious specter looked at the eaten fruit with a ignorant wonder. As a Cŵn Awnn, he knew little to nothing of the world he was on. He was aware of death, fear, instinct and his own longing to be something more than just a hunting dog of the spectral plane. Kopie reached out to touch the core when another exclamation rung, causing Kopie to snap his head to the demon. He was looking up at the roof, and for good reason. Three long deep grooves had been carved into the roof, an expensive damage.

Kopie looked at his claws, he didn't understand the anger of the male demon, but slowly pieced together that the gashes in the roof were the consequence of Kopie blindly reaching across planes as he did. Guilt slowly seeped back into the spirit, but this time he could not run without being caught. He waited and watched the demon as he looked around the bushes more diligently now, cursing as he went along. Kopie's fate was sealed.

All it takes is one lullaby,

Lucy yawned, pulling the overhead lamp closer to her work table as the sky slowly darkened outside. She was exhausted - not that making bells was a difficult task, in fact, it was quite the opposite. The repetition of the job was what bored her, the continuous pattern she fell into grew tiring. "Only a few more..", she murmured to herself.

She was in the midst of folding up the sides of the smallest bells that the shop carried; so miniscule that her head was practically resting on her hands so she could see what she was doing . Everything was intricate. If Lucy applied any more pressure in her fingers than she did now, the metal could easily bend too far, thus leaving her to unfold and reflatten the metal to avoid creases before starting over. But as her eyes blinked more frequently and for longer periods of time, her head found comfort on her arms, and Lucy nodded off to sleep underneath the dull lamp.

Mayu chuckled at the girls. She had a very unususal name, for a demon. "Well, first of all,it's because I can't pay you with money right now.And second,it seems like the ring likes you.See the sparkles inside the stone? It's happy to be on your finger."
Kai let out a small sigh. She was giving one of the most beautiful rings, and powerfull,to a complete stranger." Here's your dress. You can go change now."
Mayu stared suspiciously at him, then leaned closer to whisper in his ear. "What did you do? I hope you didn't tell her who we are..and.." She looked at the woman's face. " What the hell is with that flushed face? You sure took your time in there"
Kai chuckled, leaning close to her ear as well. " My lady,I don't think that you want to hear in what way I make a girl to look like this." He looked at Mayu's serious face, and couldn't help to laugh. "Don't give me that look.I just told her the truth, that's all.I told her that we lost our money, and she agreed to give us the clothes..In exchange for something"

"And that something would be.."

"Your dress,miledy."

He made a small bow, smiling innocently. He liked how things were turning out.And to think he didn't want to come here in the first place.Oh,he wouldn't miss tormenting her like this.It was her favourite dress, manufactured in Saur when her mother was still alive, and it wasn't your average fabric.
Mayu grabbed the piece of cloth form Kai's hands in a violent manner, remembering to pay him back for this later.Darn damn it,to exchange such a marvelous dress for a poor dirty piece of cloth. "Aren't you going to change?" Her voice was cold and furious at the same time.
Kai grinned. "No,why should I lower myself to this? We'll pretend that I'm a king and you're my servant, and we just came here on business matters."
Mayu grabbed his hair again, dragging him in the dressing room. She threw him a pair of pants and a shirt, while entering another room to change.

Her Side of The Story

User Image

On her way back, Falleryn noticed that there's nothing else the town can talk about but the festival. She gathered that apparently the Princess will be arriving with a ship made of gold that was made to float on water.
That would truly be a wonderful sight to see, Falleryn thought to herself.
She found the shop to be empty. The people must already have their fill of potions for the day. The silence is deafening and realizing she couldn't stand it, she decided to play her flute. Falleryn always played a haunting melody that she herself don't know where she heard from. It had always been stuck in her head along with all those memories of her past she can barely remember.
Kairi and Meiru are now singing along to the tune. They don't sing like the other birds in Pathur and Falleryn liked that about them.
"So it is you," a young boy slightly taller than her had stepped out of the shadows. She thought he was hiding there for a dramatic effect. Sage's dark gray eyes are glinting though he didn't seem happy and of course, as always, he isn't wearing a smile.
Falleryn stopped playing her flute at once and at the same time her parakeets stopped their singing.
"Why do you play such a lonely song?" Sage asked.
"Oh," Falleryn said looking down at her flute and gave it a tight grip. "It's the only song I want to play."
"So, I've heard you went to see the Prince," Sage said. "How did it go? Did his Royal Highness liked the flower?"
"Yes, as a matter of fact, he did liked the flowers," Falleryn said.
"I'm talking about you," Sage said. "Did he like you?"
"What? Well, I don't know, do I?" Falleryn said. "Why don't you go ask him?"
"If only I can," Sage said. "And you, did you like him?"
"Sure, he was really nice to me," Falleryn answered. "Or maybe it was just the flowers' effect on him."
"Silly girl," Sage said, "don't you know that you yourself have that effect on people?"
"Me? Really?" Falleryn said in a disbelieving tone. "But I guess it doesn't work on you. You're cold towards me like you are with everyone else. Such a shame."
The silver moon caught Falleryn's attention. She drew back the curtains of the windows to have a better look. She noticed that even though it is shining brightly, the skies are still dim and the clouds as gray as ever.
Falleryn''s eyes filled with sadness and Sage must have seen this for he also looked out of the window to see what's bothering her.
"The skies have always been like that, you know," Sage said trying to ease her worry but failing terribly. Then again, he's not exactly the guy you'd go to if you're seeking for comfort.
"But it's going to ruin the festival," Falleryn said.
"Why do you bother? It's not like you'll be invited to the parties," Sage said.
"Still, it isn't common to have festivities around here," Falleryn said. "Did you know that it has been fifty years since the last festival? I don't want to wait that long."
"Those dark skies won't ruin anything," Sage said with a reassuring voice.
