Simon Rike
"If you want to know more, I can tell you plenty." Simon said with a slightly happier tone to it. Having not been haunted again today, he was in a slightly better mood to talk. He hated the rebels for what they had done to him, but he certainly wasn't shy from speaking of them. To him, he was just informing others of either their horrid ways, or giving practical information on how to combat them. What tactics do they normally use, what are common mechs seen on the field, etc... Considering how new most of these pilots are, they could certainly use a few pointers before their first fight. You never know when they'll attack.
As if on que, the emergency alarm started blaring, the loud klaxon could be heard through every nook and cranny of the ship.
"All hands to level 1 battle stations, all pilots to their mechs, I repeat: All hands to level 1 battle stations, all pilots to their mechs, prepare for combat." The message didn't even get halfway before Simon switched to Corporal mode.
"Mechs now!" Was all Simon got out before he effectively annihilated the metal spoon in his hand. Springing into action, he launched himself from the table and lunged across two others, nearly taking out one of the other crew members as they scrambled to get out of their chairs.
"Make a damn hole!" Simon roared as he charged through the hallways. If a recruit or private had said it, it would have been dismissed instantly, but dismiss an nco's or officers order and your really gonna be in the shitter. It's a good thing they could hear over the alarm as Simon's speed increased exponentially as the new hole in the crowd formed. He needed to reach those hangars as soon as possible, not only was he needed in battle, but as an nco he'd be expected to be on scene first. His pace was nearly stopped when a few more shock waves impacted the ship, but careful maneuvering kept him at top speed. Through the crowds he could just make out Reiji far ahead of him as he turned a corner heading to the Mech bay. Simon was no pushover in speed, but there was a reason that man was called "lightning edge", he seemed to clear the through the crowds like it was an art form.
Simon paused for half a second as he entered the hangar, he could see mechanics and engineering scrambling to prep the mechs for combat, loading munitions and prepping the systems. In the short distance he spotted his mech, S21"Cross" was the Shutzwald he had chosen to be his mech as it stood motionless in it's restrains, without another thought he bolted through the catwalks and frameworks that made up the paths to and around the mechs.
"Private, ensign, S21 now!" Simon yelled trying to get his voice through all of the commotion. Luckily the mechanics heard his or order and were immediately on his mech getting the preparations finished. Simon wasted no time getting himself into the cockpit and starting the systems up, he'd been through this more times than he could tell and in many different mechs. By now, it was second nature.
The second the engines and systems booted up and the mechanics gave him and OK, Simon lunged forward through the freshly opened hangar doors, Reiji right beside him.
"Rike suited up and ready, making my way out now sir." Simon said as the coms message came through. Once he was through the massive reinforced door, the mass battle developed instantly before him.
Smoke, fire, and explosions spewed from the wreckage of the Antares, a massive cracked tore through the middle of the ship as though the ship had split in half when it crashed to the ground. Mechs, vehicles, and personnel surrounded the ship trying to clean up the mess and get all wounded or capable personal out of the wreckage. There was a small perimeter of Liegregs
(large shield units) protecting the support teams. They must have been from the base itself as they were the first on the scene, though it was clear they were on the defensive. To the far east of the crash, heavy fire rained down from the rebel force, though their units or size could be made out through the smoke that hid their attack. Artillery was continually bombarding the downed ship, as well as our own at the moment. All of this and much more flooded Simon's mind as he processed all the was shown before him. Without another moment Simon jumped down from the hanger and crashed down onto a helipad atop a nearby building. His blood pumped and adrenaline coursed through Simon as he entered the fray, hes been away from combat for awhile, but everything was all too familiar.
