Story

The Phoenix clan was a flourishing group of people who believed that no matter how many times they fall, they would rise again. They had a great passion for fighting and enjoyed it as the most important aspect of their lives. But in time, they fell to their enemies, becoming nothing more than a memory.

But now, that memory has been recognized once again by a sole individual who wishes to return this once great guild to its former status of glory, the establishment and its reign being rebuilt from scratch, rising from the flames of a past defeat, just like the legendary bird that symbolizes them.

Description/ Defenses

The Empire of Eternal Flame

Deep within a thicket of dark wood, with one single entrance and exit, lies the citadel which the Phoenix clan reign. Though their grasp stretches far and wide over the lands that be, this sole citadel is the heart which beats steadily for the phoenix. A single, long cobbled path will lead you to the large cast iron gates of their citadel. The path starts at the mountain pass and weaves and winds its way through the forest which secludes their nation, for about three miles. About every mile a single eternally lit lantern is kept high among a lamp post along with a sign for direction as well as a brief but concise warning as to what the traveler is getting themselves into. However, the warnings can be very deceiving, especially since the people of the clan are a joyous, jubilant people. All throughout the vast wood are many creatures known and unknown, each serving their own purpose under their own deity. But also, hiding out in the trees are master archers, staying put in in their surroundings to make sure no aggression comes their way. They are truly the first line of defense, counting up to fifty in total. Second line of defense would then be the guards of the town, which there are currently one hundred.

The front gate is marked with a dark, black cast iron gate which holds very Gothic designs with pointed posts and delicate construct. By each side of the gate their is a large stone tower, which is connected to the barrier wall surrounding the citadel, and in each stone tower men clad in crimson, red, and dark orange armor await for a returning caravan or guest. From the ground up, the walls and gate stretch about forty feet into the sky. About every half mile along the fortress wall a similar guard tower can be found protecting the wall from possible intruders.

Inside the fortress walls made of admantine brick, there are two different sections split by a smaller wall. The first section, the section reached upon entering the gates, is the common section. In this section there you can find the home of the villagers, shops, inns, pubs, and other town necesities. Most of the clansmen family members and even some of the lesser ranked clans members will reside in the village. The village hoists many flags representing the Phoenix Clan and they make sure every establishment is decorated with the proper colors; red, orange, and gold. The second half or section inside the fortress walls is strictly for members of the clan. It has a variety of decors ranging from beautiful gardens accompanied by great water fountains to expertly crafted statues and murels.

The castle itself, also made of an admantine alloy, sits high upon a man made hill looking over all the land within the natural barrier surrounding them, the mountains. They can see to the very beginning of the dark wood while also having a clear view of the front gate, incidentally of course. The castle is about ten stories tall with spires and towers stretching higher than thirty stories. Inside there are many lavishly decorated rooms all sporting the clans colors.

The Lands That Be

The Phoenix Clan rests safely inside a natural barrier, rugged mountains. Inside those mountains a traveling patron will have to journey through the forest. However, before such a patron can reach the mountains they must come from [The Land That Be]. There are many regions throughout this diverse land, the Mlk'Han Mountains stretch across the southern lands hosting the home of goblins and dwarves. These moutains also branch off and provide the natural barrier for the Phoenix Clan. To the far north, over vast hilly plains are the The Calm Lands. To the east you can find the Yutikan Desert, a vast and baren mass of scorching heat and mile high dunes. Very little people travel these lands because they are rumored house vile creatures and warriors. To the west you can find the Lerain Plains. These plains are very grassy and have many fresh water lakes with crystal clear water. But no matter what land is transversed, each seems to have its own secrets and mysteries, but all under some significant control of the Phoenix Clan, including having a base in each point which usually has up to ten Phoenix members housed at.

Island of the Nightstalkers

Guild Territory: Nightstalkers Militia

After the defeat of the leader of the Nightstalkers Militia, Verev claimed the island as his own, an island rich with resources that he can use to build his first navy base. This island lies west past the Calm Lands in the vast sea, and acts as an ideal location for him to build a water front for future sieges.

It was just a wonder how much the Phoenix Warriors had did in a two month period. The harbor was now complete, but was always under technical maintenance to further improve it. But for the most part, this was a island made for a military force. The first change was that on the southern strip of land known as New Wave Village. It use to be the place filled with most of the civilization of the isle, and it still was. But instead of huts, the place had moved into the next century of modernization, buildings made of plaster, brick, and stone created, making this very bustling town where civilians and soldiers could call their home. Shops were set up, bars, gyms, restaurants, and the usual things that made a small city a small city. At the heart of the town lied the main base for the island military, the largest and most fortified of the place. Upon it lied the banners and flags of the Phoenix Warrior army, which also decorated the buildings of the city, too, to show the pride and the ownership that this force held.

Crescent Sonata, the western part of the island, underwent quite a change itself. The ruins that were upon it were renewed into better facilities for the Phoenix's Warriors' projects and recreational designs, all exclusive to members of the force. Practically, all non-members of the army were just restricted to New Wave, unless given permission. It was interesting, however, of what the Phoenix Warrior's were able to unearth during construction here, be them lost treasures or something more mystic. It was a good reason why this part of the island was deemed the most secretive, like it was Area 51 of this land.

Crescent Bolero did not go under that much change, other than removing huts in exchange for modern structures. The forest environment was kept intact for the sake of giving the Phoenix Warrior's a more secluded environment for another part of their base, though it is also a natural place to raise animals and other domestic beasts. This was likely for stealth reasons, should an attack come from the north. This was the northern and longest part of the island, so fortifying this strip of land and then giving the illusion of a peaceful forest was the purpose of Crescent Bolero.

And then there is Crescent Minuete, the eastern part of the island. Having so much of a grassland gave just the space the force needed to make it into the location of their construction forces. Warehouses and factories were here to make this place into the industrial scene. Vehicles, weapons, you name it were mostly built here, smoke rising from the occasional smoke stacks. Some was just water vapor, but others were forms of usage of fire and other resources, the pollution rising into the air before disappearing amongst the blue sky.

A harbor was settled at the western, eastern, and the southern part of the islands, filled with the ships that was Phoenix Warrior's navy. Flags topped each ship, both big and small, all being made for the purpose of water combat against some of the best in the world. Their designs looked near Colonial, but they were completely under modern implementations of engines and weapons. The weapons on these ships, however, were more magic-based than technological based, giving what they believe a better advantage over the ages who still like to rely on the super technology of just what they obtain from the earth instead of what they can could also get from the more spiritual part of this planet, which was the mana that constantly flowed amongst it. And this island being what it was, it was filled pretty much a lot of this.

And thus, this was the new base.

The Old Warmaker Grounds

Guild Territory: Warmakers

The Warmakers was a guild that had long been disbanded and forgotten in the history of the guild world, located miles south of the Mlk'Han Mountains. But when Verev went to seize the land, he ran into one sole survivor, Clash. He eventually defeated him, his men then running over the land to convert it into another base for their conquest.

The land of the Warmakers was rebuilt, but in the image of the Phoenix Warrior's pride. Much of the forested areas remained, but not without a modern structure located within them. The mighty prehistoric dinosaurs that lived in this land were tamed with an iron fist, no longer the free animals or the kings of the land that they once were. Instead, they were now mere cattle and military resources to the Phoenix Warrior's. The more gentle dinosaurs were tasked with minor tasks, but the more vicious carnivores of the dinosaur kingdom were given a more on-the-field purpose. They were trained everyday to see their masters as their masters and anyone else as just another feast to rip apart. From the mighty T-Rex to the human-sized vicious velociraptors, this force became known as the Jurassic Death Force, or JDF.

Aside from this new addition to the Warriors, they gained a lot of things from making this land into their own. A sturdy fortress, golems who never ran out of energy, and a few resources to further make new weapons and equipment. If they wanted, they could make this place their new HQ and conquer the world just from it.

She was so lost, having wondered through some plains, encountered a couple goblins along the way and found them to be...well not the greatest of company. Now she stood on a cliff at the mountain side, having climbed up one side, and now was ready to make her way down the other.

But first she would investigate what the mountains hid, and found a forest down below. She frowned, hoping to find a village or something, so she get get more supplies. Not that she was low on food, she knew how to find food in the wild, just needed maybe a new cape and some other odds n ends.

Tugging her black tattered cloak tightly around her, and making sure the hood was firmly on her head. Checking her brown bag, and two little ferret heads poked out. One white, the other black, both looking at her questioningly. "We will stop to rest soon." She said softly, then began to make her way towards the forest. She is sprinting now, wanting to get off the mountain, gracefully and swiftly making her way down.

A hour goes by, and now she treks through the forest.

Running down into the forest will have her past by the dark green leaves of the trees present about her, thick and making little sunlight able to reach the forest floor. Various sounds of nature occurred all about her as she ran through, from birds, to groans, to grunts. Grunts that did not come from your normal type of forest animal. Maybe a bear, but the grunt was too deep to be that normal. The woman passing through was being watched, and by more than one source. It didn't take long for danger to present itself, as an arrow strikes the ground three feet ahead of her as a warning to stop her sprint. The arrow's head struck into the soil, the length of it was dark brown in color, with the tail end colored in dark green. The projectiles were colored in this way to allow them to be harder to see within this terrain.

Assuming the woman stopped, someone leaps down from his hiding place within the trees, dressed in tunic, baggy pants, long boots, forearm bracers, and a hat on the top of his head, all in this camo-like design to make hiding easy within the canopies of the treetops. Even his face was painted over, brown eyes staring toward the woman as the stranger wielded a brown crossbow in his right hand, an arrow ready on the rest. A complex longbow, one of a modern design with an axle system, was settled on his back, along with a quiver of arrows, about thirty nine currently there, number forty struck into the dirt of the ground.

The eyes of this archer scan the woman up and down before he speaks to her in his rather young voice: "Speak! Who are you?"

The arrow worked. Terra stopped abruptly and stared down at the arrow, a displeased look upon her face, but it was hidden by the cloak's hood. She knelt down, and wrapped her right hand around the shaft of the arrow and pulled it out. Actually she found this kinda funny, and a low chuckle escaped from her.

Hearing the thud of someone landing before her, having jumped down from the tree tops, she glanced up. Her eyes of gold glowed faintly from beneath the shadow the hood created over her face. She clenched her hand tightly around the arrow she held. "Was the arrow really necessary?" she asked, her voice calm and soft. Slowly she stood again, and as she did pulled back the hood. Her eyes scanned this man up and down, a amused smile still upon her pale lips. Strands of silver bangs fell before her eyes, a few shorted strands falling to frame her delicate tanned skinned face. "To answer your question, I am just passing through, so really do you need to know my name? I have no weapons, just some supplies for travel in my backpack and a couple ferrets in my brown bag at my side."

The woman squeezes the arrow, but she will find it not crack like she would have figured. That was because the arrows the archer wielded were made of mithril, not the normal wood than normally she ran into. When she held it, he assumed her a threat, so aimed the crossbow at her. "Drop the arrow."

Hearing her explanation, he didn't know whether to accept that as a valid excuse or not.

"You do know that there's a road to the right just a few yards, right? Running through the forest like you were doing isn't taken very lightly here in the land of the Phoenix Warriors. Well, anyway, if you are here just to pass through, then I suggest you continue straight. You will reach the other end of this forest after passing through the Phoenix Warrior's city. I will contact my other partners to let them know that you're on your way."

She was inspecting the arrow, and looked up at him again to hear his demand. Frowning, she let it drop from her hand and to the ground.

"I wasn't running, just a light job. And there is a city?" She asked, a please look on her face. "Great, think I could get some supplies from there? Maybe rest a bit, I didn't believe there would be a city here. Don't worry, unless provoked, I intend to cause to harm to anyone or thing." A innocent smile played across her lips.

The archer merely stared at her before he turns his back to her. He had to keep his business-like stature or he'll ruin his reputation as an archer of Phoenix.

"Go right ahead. Follow the road that I just pointed out to you. You will eventually reach some gates. My comrades will be waiting ahead to let you in."

And with that, he leaps swiftly back into the foliage, seeming to disappear from sight.

She huffed, lifted her hood back up over her head and sent the direction where the stranger instructed her to go.

Still, she found the encounter slightly entertaining, and mused over the man she met as she made her way towards the city. Eventually she did reach stop gates, stopped before them and glanced around.
