Sparxi had no idea how long she had been walking, and began to wonder if she had managed to get herself lost. It wasn't like she came to the base everyday. Oh who am I kidding. If I'm lost, I'm sure Gigster can just pull up a map, she thought with a bit of a proud grin. She adjusted the straps of the back, causing Gigster to squeak before calming down and curling up on her shoulder. She smiled gently at her robotic pet, once again gently scratching the top of Gigster's head.

When Sparxi heard another person's voice in the hallway, she paused midstep as her back went cold. Had she been caught already? Had someone found out that she had taken a confidential file when she knew that she had no right to do so? She turned slowly to look at the young man who was walking up towards her, not remembering seeing him before. Gigster uncurled itself and looked at the young man, his head tilting in a quizzical manner.

She listened to him as he continued speaking and introduced himself. Sparxi nodded gently, feeling just a tad bit uneasy about how Vader had come out of nowhere. It took her some time to realize that she had probably been silent since she hadn't introduced herself yet, earning herself an almost nervous cough. "My name's Sparxi. Sparxi Greene," she finally said, smiling gently at Vader. "It's nice to meet you Vader and no... I guess it won't be a problem if you joined me. I mean, I was kinda heading home, but yeah... No problem at all."

She could hear the mechanical chatter, feeling Gigster run over to her other shoulder. She glanced at her pet, poking it in the head before looking back over at Vader. "Sorry, he gets a bit angry when he feels ignored," Sparxi apologized before she continued. "This is Gigster, my pet robotic chipmunk. Don't worry, he's not that bad. He's a complete sweetheart in all honesty. He can be troublesome at times, but... He's the only friend I have..."

Sparxi realized that the direction of the conversation was beginning to get a tad bit depressing. She cleared her throat, another nervous laugh before she started walking again, waving at Vader for him to follow. "I've never seen you around before though," she continued, looking at him. "Have you always worked here? Maybe she had been too quick to assume that someone had already found out, especially since she had never seen him before, but one could never be too careful.

Black Magic Magie Noir

Love me, or hate me...

Wearing a grin that would belong to any child inside of a candy store Magie leaned close, not needing to do much more than whisper to get her point across; as if it were a secret. "Because... Don't you know? We're so much more humane. The Miltary at the very least would give you the most gentle walk to death they could. Any drug cartel, ring, or organization, would not be so kind if you crossed them. Those ******** will kill you for scratching their car at most." The way she crinkled up her nose a bit as she giggled was almost obnoxious it was so forcefully cute. Leaning back her grin smoothed out slowly as tar colored orbs took him in slowly, trying to gauge how far he'd be willing to go to save his life. "In time, yes. It's... Like a tab. If you run it up high enough, there will be some sort of consequence. Usually a refusal of some service. Only here, it's not a service, it's your freedom. Pay off that bill, and you're free as a pretty little bird~"
And put like that, it even made some sense! She was on a roll today. That roll only continued to hear him agree. Smiling brightly it was obvious that it was a look that would be very pretty on a kinder woman. Much as an older aunt would she pinched one of his cheeks. "Good boy. Smart too." Grinning she got to her feet dusting herself off busily. "At the moment there isn't much. It'll all have to get through the paperwork, you understand. However, we should have work for idle hands before midnight at the earliest. At the most you'll have a day or two to get adjusted to life here before hand. Speaking of which~" Here the woman's tone turned from all business to an important woman who was well aware she was doing someone a favor in her actions. A mistress giving a treat.
"You'll have a room all to yourself. If you think YOU'RE different, wait until you see some of the people you'll be sleeping next door to. It's got a nice little bed~" What she didn't mention was that it was small, or that there wasn't much else besides the bed. She also didn't bring up that the bed was just a neatly made little mattress. Hey, it still had sheets! So it still counted as a bed. Grabbing the chair she smiled that mismatched sweet smile of hers as if she didn't intend to hit him repeatedly with that chair if he upset her. "Shall we go, mon cher~?" Batting her lashes it was all but sickly sweet, but the line separating it from simply sweet was a thin one being quickly approached. The woman with her mannerisms alone could redefine what it meant to be two-faced.

I'll still be the end of you.

The silver spoon…
Won’t feed your friends…
‘Cause life tastes bitter when you eat with your hands
Count me in…

Vader blinked quietly. "Home? You don't live here?" He was used to most people he ran into living in the same section as him. Come to think of it, the noble rarely left the common room... He was only ever good at gathering information, but he was sent on missions rarely. When the robotic creature started chattering, Vader had released a quiet (if not unmanly) squeak. Violet eyes stared at the chipmunk like creature with a new found sense of fear. He listened to her words carefully. "I-I see..... Y-You made him?" He tried to keep himself from getting too closer to that little mechanical creature. "Friends? I don't have many of those either..... Almost none in fact." He smiled a bit cheekily, but he was speaking the truth. The most attention he got was when he was being tortured.

"You've never seen me?" He blinked. "Then I have done my job well~ I've only been here a little less than a year, but I know what my duty is.... To work without being seen or noticed~" He sounded far too triumphant for the fact that he was often just ignored even if he wasn't invisible. She hadn't seen him, but it was a wonder how she had never heard him whimpering and cowering down in the corner. "I mostly work along side those gathering intel~" He was the sheep.... The one they sent in disguise, who just stood around while everyone else picked up information from the wires he had on him. He was only there to blend in, and, if s**t hit the fan, take the fall. "What do you do?~ You seem awfully young... far too young for this kind of work...." He himself didn't look a day over seventeen, but he was still a great deal older than her.

And I’ll be the one
To take the knife out of your spine
Because I know that you’ll be the first
To bury the blade deeper into mine

~~~~~ She had successfully made Seril more nervous when she grinned at him; somehow it had an ominous look to it. He got the impression that anything that would cause this woman to be that gleefully happy would be bad news for him. “but-…i...er..okay then.” He was going to say that she did not actually answer his question in any meaningful way but he realized that it did not make any real difference who he was working for when he essentially had a gun pointed at him. “How much service will I need to…no..no never mind. I understand my position...” He realized that they would not be foolish enough to promise him freedom for any set amount of work, and if they did they would likely not honor their agreement. He would be better off just being as obedient as he could for now, maybe even earn the trust of these people enough to either escape or become important enough to their group that they would have to make him a proper member instead of slave labor.
~~~~~He suspected this ‘room’ he was being promised would be little more than a cell, not that he had any intention of complaining. If he played his cards right he would probably be treated better than if he did something stupid. He could probably build himself some sort of makeshift sensor at some point to get a feel for the area he was in. If escape would be too difficult he would just bide his time before escaping or go with the backup plan of trying to get these people to accept him as a member. He was thoroughly convinced that they were some sort of crime syndicate, so crossing them was out of the question. “I thank you for your kindness then, but would you please have your ah?…shadow? Let me stand now, being stuck in this position on the floor is rather painful. “ It also made it quite impossible for him to stand, not that he wanted to say that. It was one thing to feel helpless but quite another to have to say it out loud. It was bad enough that he had to ask her to let go to begin with.

Love me, or hate me...

Slowly Magie was starting to grin. This kid was smart. That was good. It meant that her life was honestly easier. "Good boy. Smart too." She would have ruffled his hair if she weren't holding onto the chair. As she went to push the door open, she paused before twitching a bit. Just because he couldn't hear the laughter in her head didn't mean she couldn't. The true fact of the matter was that the shadow spirit would only do a thing if she felt like it. Fortunately most of the time the spirit was complacent. However there were times when she would deny the gypsy, just to be difficult and remind her who was in charge. Fortunately this wasn't one of those times, and the spirit was quick enough to release it's hold on him. As she shoved the door open she turned to give the boy another grin. "Someone once told me that pain was good for one's character."
If that were the truth it was probably the person she had learned her manners from. The seat she left carelessly beside the door. Someone else could get it for her. Oddly enough there weren't any guards. But then, she had sent them away. She worked alone. And besides, it wasn't like she would need any help. She could handle anything he threw at her. The very second she was sure he was able to, she started walking down the hallways, her arms clasped behind her back. "There are three meals per day. Your basic breakfast lunch and dinner. At the very least some form of meat is supplied. For those who behave well, we do allow occasional trips off base to purchase things such as food goods."
Some of their best behavior wise practically relied on those trips to eat. The good ones never touched the rough slop that those who misbehaved were forced to eat. "We also allow visitation rights if you've proven you can handle such luxuries. But that's a long way away for you. It's like a ladder. You start at the bottom and go up. The higher up the more rewards and privileges you have." Despite common belief Magie actually believed in a dual system. One where negative and positive reinforcement was used to encourage good behavior, and in contrast discourage bad behavior. After all... She wasn't completely against throwing a dog a bone now and again.

I'll still be the end of you.

Sparxi shook her head when Vader asked his question, a small smile on her face. "My brother and I live in an apartment not too far from here. We lived there ever since our parents died. A family friend of ours made sure that we had a place to stay, as well as many other things. But that's a story for another time." She knew that it was better to not tell her entire life story to someone she had just met. He honestly didn't need to know all about her past. Unless he wanted to of course, but considering it was rare, she didn't continue at all.

There was a proud grin on her face when she nodded to let him know that he was right. Out of all the things she had made, by herself or with her brother, Gigster was by far her favorite creation. She listened to Vader's response, surprised that he didn't have anyone to call a friend, but at the same time, the same could be said for her. I guess that's one thing this guy and I have in common already, she thought to herself, before focusing on what else he was saying, Gigster also paying attention as well.

She nodded, listening to him explain his job. So he worked with intel? She had always thought that was an interesting division, but she still loved to work behind the scenes, even though she barely did much of that to begin with. Her brother was still worried about her helping out at times, but he knew she was really insistent, and didn't argue with her much about it. Sparxi looked back at him when he asked her what she did, another small, yet almost proud, grin was on her face before she answered. "I help out with the engineering guys. My brother works with them. My brother and I are the best with computers and such. We kinda got it from our parents. But I don't work here full-time, just sometimes. Although, since I'm done with high school and don't start college until the fall, I have some more time to be here a bit more often. My brother doesn't really like me being around so much, but it's not that bad. It beats staying home and doing nothing."

Sparxi didn't mention how she was also a bit of a hacker, considering it wasn't really his business. She adjusted the straps on her shoulder again, causing Gigster to move frantically and finding another spot of comfort.

Obviously he had not been smart enough not to get caught, though he would like to think it was more because he got cocky then anything else. He did not much take her compliment seriously anyway so he did not respond to it. When the shadow released him he hurried to his feet and stretched slightly then hurried to follow after her. "Those who behave?" He had wondered briefly before if he was the only person they had kidnapped, obviously he was not. "Are the other people here helping you make things as well?" He hoped asking too many questions would not annoy her, he still needed to stay on her good side for now. The food was probably the part that worried him the most at this point. He had gotten rather used to eating fancy food, and going out to eat several times a day. With all the money he had stolen he had plenty to blow on trivial things like that. "So what exactly is it that you want me to make for you." He assumed they wanted weapons or something along those lines, but he could hardly be sure about that.

Love me, or hate me...

There was nothing but business in the way Magie carried herself around the boy. That was all but guaranteed to fade in time. Some small, almost non-existent part of her was ashamed of her behavior; because let's face it, sometimes she was borderline slutty. But that was neither here nor there. "Mhmm. Those who do NOT constantly try to leave. Mostly these are the ones who are voluntary... However, there are some who are not who behave well." She chose not to mention that she often found reasons to make the time of those who didn't behave miserable. In fact she wasn't far from finding an excuse to turn her least favorite naga infertile. Eyes glancing back at him for a moment, she wondered how many questions she would answer, and how many of those would even be answered truthfully. "Some. There are many faucets to any proper facility. As such, there are many different uses for those who call this base home."
The way she said it made them almost sound like tools, not living, breathing individuals. But to her they may as well be. She had all she needed from them, so they were as good as dead to her. It had been said before - and said correctly - that the gypsy only ever found a person interesting if there was something she could gain from them. Glancing back at him once more, she put on a small smile. "My, you're certainly a chatty one, aren't you?" It was said in a condescending way. Of course it was; what other way was she supposed to say it? "I don't think I'll tell you that yet. I would be doing you such a disservice. If you can predict such things you may well get bored here." Which is to say she meant to keep him on his toes. Idle hands are the devil's playthings, and she certainly didn't want to invite mischief.
At least, not on HER watch. That would just make her look bad. She may BE bad... But she didn't want to look it. "I really don't know why you worry about it now. It won't do you much good." Not that she really cared either way. It was mostly just small talk. She wasn't completely without her social graces. She just liked acting like she was now and again. How else was she expected to have fun? Well... There WERE always the more conventional ways. "At first the twists are turns will confuse you here. But in time you'll adjust as everyone does." She had to remind herself to not use the word everything. That would come across as TOO cold.

I'll still be the end of you.

Falluk
&
Rizu

"They say that we're the same..."

"I want to love you..."

The more time that passed the more obvious it was to see that the two naga were near polar opposites. At the very least Rizu could never be more repelled by her own kind. But really, in her opinion he barely qualified as that. Watching him all but sulking she simply shook her head. Was he a child? It would explain the size... About to inquire over just that, the naga instead chose to keep her silence, observing the small back and forth between priest and italian. They really were quite the duo, weren't they? It was rather interesting. Each had their own things to hold above each other. Sometimes one would win, sometimes the other. It seemed - to the female at least - that there was no way to predict who would win.
Blinking as attention was turned back to her, some part of Rizu wished he would have let her suffer alone with her pride in tact. However that part of her was readily drowned out by the part that insisted anything would be better than that mind numbing fear. It left her nodding gently in acceptance. This plan was better than none. Tilting her head a bit, what was to everyone an obvious flirtatious gesture flew right over her head. To her it was just more strange human behavior. And besides that, she was much more interested with what he said next. "....You... Want to learn... About us? I.... Suppose I could..." Had she not been so surprised by the interest in and of itself, she probably wouldn't have agreed. Her agreement, however was NOT something Falluk had wanted to hear. However, when he opened his mouth to protest, he was greeted by Rizu staring at him.
There was something dead, cold, and merciless in that stare. It was enough to encourage the smaller male to hold his own council. Only after she was certain that she wouldn't be contradicted did she dare to so much as blink. When her attention strayed from her less than enjoyable kinsman most of the hostility left her. "We... Should probably leave soon... If we're to be on time..." Truth be told she just wanted to get away from Falluk. Something that he would no doubt figure out later on. But for now the male was left, pressed as close to the concrete walls as was possible. He was starting to worry her prolonged exposure to humans had tainted the female. After all... Why else would she be so cruel?

"How can that be when we're world's apart?"

"..But you won't let me."

Merii T. Garcia

If you play with fire...

It was all Merii could do to keep herself from laughing. She always loved the naga's reactions to planes. Fortunately enough, she'd get enough of that on the ride they were all about to take. She all but winced at how harsh the other woman was to the first of her kind she'd seen in years. It made some dark little corner of her very happy just to get to watch such emotional pain this close up. Only when she was sure it was done did she start whistling in an almost bored manner, all but skipping to the door. It was an innocent enough gesture... Until one recognized an old familiar tune from childhood. If she had been singing there was no doubt she would have been using Rizu and Chester for it. She couldn't help it. Sometimes she had to be a little childish to have a bit of fun.
Leaning against the door she put on her most bored look. "If you two don't hurry up, I'm reciting it. And I'll have you know that not only am I a very good speller, I also have a very graphic imagination." Grinning as sweetly as she knew how she couldn't stop a few stray giggles from slipping out. It wasn't her fault, really. She was just excited to get to start piling up arson charges in Paris. And if this show didn't get on the road, she'd go without any of them and make them all look bad. Then she'd probably giggle when they got in trouble. The mental images alone were amusing enough to make it worth the effort.

You're gonna get burned.

Tipsy Mage

Seril thought that Magie was being maddeningly cryptic with her answers to his questions, he suspected she was doing it just to bother him. "What happens to the one who misbehave anyway..?" Do you really kill them? He believed that they would do it, even if he did not believe this was a real government facility. It had to be some sort of mafia or something.

At first he briefly suspected the woman did not know was much as she was hinting but from they way he was teasing him he now thought she was as in command here as she seemed to be leading him to believe. "I..-ah...yes.." Her annoyance with his questions did not go unnoticed. After she called him chatty he had awkward shut himself up he did not want to get on her bad side after all. No, that wouldn't be enough, he needed to actively be on her good side. His vaguely formulating plans for escape were put on hold for a bit, he needed to behave to earn her trust if he ever wanted to get out of here. He just silently followed behind her, nodding along as she explained things to him. It painted a picture of a bleak place to be, with little to no chance of escape.
