StormTrooper

The military soldiers unswervingly loyal to the Emperor, stormtroopers represented the most visible extension of Imperial might. They were shock troopers meant to strike with speed and accuracy, putting down insurrections and maintaining order on the farflung worlds of the Empire. Stormtroopers served both the ground-based armies of Palpatine's forces, and the space-based Imperial starfleet.
Stormtrooper training stressed complete indoctrination in the tenets of the New Order, and individuals would obey their officers without question, without regard to the rights of others or even to their own safety.

Stormtroopers abandoned individuality in exchange for their loyalty. They are completely encased in a white armored spacesuit shell, and are armed with blaster pistols or blaster rifles. Their helmets contain comlinks for long-range communications. Officers were denoted with colored shoulder pauldrons. Specific environments called for specially trained and equipped stormtroopers, such as the snowtroopers that besieged the ice world of Hoth and the lightly-armored scout troopers that patrolled the forests of Endor.

Weapon: E11 Carbine, Thermal Detonator, Concussion Grenade, DL44 Blaster.
Armor: StormTrooper Armor. .5cm titanium/kevlar mesh

Storm Commando
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
The dreaded storm commando was the Empire's answer to the increasing victories won by Rebel Alliance guerilla tactics. Rebel successes early in the Galactic Civil War forced the Imperial military to re-examine some of their methodology. While overwhelming numbers and brute force sufficed in many applications, the Empire identified a need for a leaner, more focused fighting force.
Crix Madine, an Imperial Army officer, developed the storm commandos to that end. Though Madine would eventually defect to the Alliance, the storm commando training program continued after his departure. Only the best of the stormtroopers received this intensive training, and storm commandos remained a rare sight by the end of the war. Nonetheless, Rebel SpecForces grew to respect their skills and abilities.

While standard stormtrooper operations are broad in scope, storm commandos are specifically trained for anti-Rebel operations, siege-breaking, extractions and sabotage. A unit of storm commandos can range from four to 40 troopers. Typically, one quarter of these are standard commandos, while a second quarter is an assault team trained for vehicle combat and artillery. Another quarter are experts at sabotage, demolitions and stealth, while the last quarter is tech team devoted to keeping gear functioning or jury-rigging makeshift supplies.

The black storm commando armor is based on the lightweight armor of the stormtrooper scout, but is coated with an advanced polymer called reflec which bends light and sensor energy away from the trooper.

Weapon: T21 Rifle, Thermal Detonator, FWG5 Blaster, Incinderary Grenades.
Armor: 1cm Reflec/Carbon Nanotube mesh.

Scout Trooper
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
The stormtroopers designated as scouts wear lightweight armor that is considerably more flexible than the standard uniform. Much like their infantry counterparts, scout troopers wear a black body glove covered with white armor. Scouts often work in conjunction with light reconnaissance vehicles, such as Imperial speeder bikes. For this reason, they are often referred to as biker scouts.

Weapon: Scout Blaster w/ 5x scope
Armor: .2cm Steel

Radtrooper
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Little known but highly effective arm of the Empire's stormtrooper divisions, Radiation Zone Assault Troopers are specially equipped to operate in one of the deadliest terrain types. A lead-polymer substrate in the modified plastoid armor provides the needed protection to withstand lethal Grade 5 radiation zones for hours at a time.
Though all stormtrooper armor provides some measure of protection against radiation, only the radtrooper suits are proof against extended operations in such environments. The massive spacetrooper armor can also withstand such deadly energies, but these powered suits are too bulky to use in operations within planetary gravities.

The Empire deploys radtroopers into radiation-filled zones that contain assets it wants to claim or defend. Sometimes, these zones are naturally occurring hostile environments. In other scenarios, the Empire purposely floods an area with radiation to pacify resistance. For example, the Empire has been known to employ neutron bombing, which kills or incapacitates a large percentage of the local population, but keeps the infrastructure intact. Radtroopers deploy into neutron bombed areas, sweeping up pockets of resistance that may have survived, as well as securing the location for when the radiation subsides in a few days. Resistance is often minimal, since the intense radiation is effective, but there are hardy lifeforms in the galaxy immune to such extremes, and they are usually tough opponents requiring seasoned troops.

Modern weaponry becomes less reliable in radiation fields of Grade 4 or higher, so radtroopers are typically equipped with vibroblades, force pikes and grenades. Their blaster carbines are more powerful than standard stormtrooper sidearms. All radtroopers receive melee combat and explosives training.

In addition to the standard stormtrooper utility belt, radtroopers carry survival equipment with anti-radiation pills, detoxification hypos, a radiation tent, a water purifier, and a radiation meter. Radtrooper armor also provides proof against biological or chemical attack.

Weapon: E11 Carbine, Vibrolance, Vibroblade.
Armor: See above.

Space Trooper
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
The most heavily armed and armored unit of stormtroopers in the Empire are the Zero-G Assault Troopers, known commonly as spacetroopers. These elite soldiers wear large powered suits of armor that give them the firepower of a light tank. Though standard stormtrooper armor does provide limited protection against hard vacuum, only these soldiers have been extensively trained for combat operations in space.
Spacetroopers are deadly commandos of the highest order, second only to the Imperial Royal Guard. Their primary missions involve the capturing of enemy vessels intact and the pacifying of rebellious crews. Spacetroopers are typically deployed in units of 40 aboard assault shuttles. This platoon of soldiers can overtake capital ships with their determined assaults.

Spacetrooper armor functions as a personal spacecraft and attack vehicle. A spacetrooper wears a standard stormtrooper shell, and then plugs into a larger set of power armor that stands over two meters tall, and is twice as wide across as an unarmored man. For this bulky appearance, spacetroopers are sometimes called "walking tanks."

Powerful weaponry lines the powersuit armor. Paired grenade launchers are shoulder-mounted and magazine-fed, and are capable of launching concussion, stun and gas projectiles. On the right gauntlet is a powerful blaster cannon, while the left gauntlet features a miniature proton torpedo hurler. The gauntlet features laser cutters or rotating sleeves, allowing the spacetrooper to penetrate armored hulls.

Spacetrooper armor is too cumbersome to operate within planetary gravities. A variety of models of spacetrooper armor have been developed over the years, with the latest generation being far more sleek and maneuverable than earlier iterations.

Weapon: Blaster Cannon (Shotgun-esque), 60mm Grenade Launchers, Precision Laser Cutters, Mini-Proton Torpodoe Launcher.
Armor: 6cm Quantum Crystalline

Sandtrooper
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
The Empire encompassed thousands of worlds, with countless climate and terrain challenges. Their stormtrooper ranks reflected this through specialized units trained and equipped to operate in specific environments.
The sandtrooper is a desert terrain stormtrooper equipped with modified armor and gear to better withstand missions in harsh, arid locales like Tatooine. While their armor is superficially similar to that of the standard stormtrooper, advanced cooling systems in both their helmets and suits offer these troopers protection from the relentless heat.

The stormtrooper detachment dispatched by Lord Darth Vader to investigate a crashed escape pod on Tatooine just prior to the Battle of Yavin consisted of sandtroopers. They had heavy weapons, survival gear, and shoulder pauldrons denoting rank

Weapon: Concussion Rifle, DL44 Metal Pistol
Armor: 1" steel.

Sea Trooper
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
When the Empire needed to maintain a presence on the various aquatic worlds in its domain, it employed a specialized branch of Aquatic Assault Stormtroopers, known commonly as seatroopers.
Many of the standard technologies employed by the Imperial military were modified for aquatic use, including specialized aquatic garrisons, custom TIE boats, and powerful AT-AT swimmers. The armor of the seatrooper was based on the lightweight scout trooper design. It is worn over a two-piece environmental body glove that provides protection from uncomfortable temperature extremes, or toxic-water environments.

The armor is more flexible than standard stormtrooper designs, preserving and even increasing a trooper's underwater dexterity. Supplementing a soldier's swimming skills are a back-mounted propulsion unit, and a pair of propulsion boots with snap-down flippers. Since blaster ranges are often adversely affected by underwater use, the seatroopers carried a blaster rifle/speargun hybrid as a standard weapon.

The standard seatrooper utility belt includes high-tension wire, grappling hooks, spare blaster power packs, ion flares, concentrated rations, spare comlink, medpacs, rebreather filters, and a compressed air inflatable bubble tent.

Weapon: Blaster Speargun, Concussion Grenades.
Armor: See above.

Snow Trooper
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Storming through the icy corridors of Echo Base like a heavily-armed blizzard, Imperial snowtroopers stopped at nothing in their effort to conquer the Rebels at Hoth. A specially-trained division of stormtrooper infantry, the snowtroopers wear customized armor well suited to the climate extremes of ice planets such as Hoth. In addition to the hard white armor, their suit incorporates fabric overgarments that help contain heat, and terrain-gripping boots to combat slippery conditions. The Hoth snowtroopers brandished standard blaster rifles, and specialized teams used heavy repeating blasters mounted on tripods.

Weapon: Heavy Blaster Rifle, Las-Minigun
Armor: Cloth, 2cm steel fibre.

Blackhole Troopers
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
For much of the Galactic Civil War, a mysterious agent of Palpatine code-named Blackhole carefully sifted through countless streams of data, distilling it into useful information for Imperial Intelligence. Blackhole had an impressive amount of resources available to him, including an entire Star Destroyer and its complement of troops and fighters. Per his orders, the stormtroopers under his command had their armor cast in black to match his own particular eccentricities. The armor modification had practical benefits as well. The stygian-triprismatic polymer afforded the stormtroopers increased sensor-stealth.

Weapon: T21 Blaster Rifle
Armor: See above.

Dark Troopers
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

The new and improved Dark Trooper's armor is made of a 1cm layer of Reflec to help it stay stealthy, and a 2" underlayer of Quantum Crystalline. The QC layering makes it nigh invurnerable to any kind of hand-held blaster fire. Someone in this armor can even take on an AT-ST with high hopes of winning... If they have the right firepower included.

Along with the armor being tough as ********, it has several vision modes. They are as follows: Thermal imaging, sound measurement, and air density pressure (movement). A comm device is also integrated into the helmet.

As for mounted weaponry, the Dark Trooper's armor have two built-in Proton Torpodoe hurlers in their armor's forearms. Light cannons, such as the newly developed 'rail gun', can be mounted on the shoulders.

The armor also has new built-in technology called 'strength enhancers'. It quadroples the wearer's strength so that they can take the encumberment and recoil of their weaponry on land. These strength enhancers also double the wearer's speed which enables them to dodge blaster bolts.

Only the most elite Imperial Cadets recieve the gruesome training to become Dark Troopers. And few come out....

The Dark Troopers wield new Plasma Rifle-shaped Cannons that are as strong as four shots from an X-Wing's lasers combined. And for sidearms, they wield two FWG5 Pistols. And for explosives, the Dark Troopers wield Disintegration Grenades. These grenades give off substances that disintegrate any organic substances they touch, much like AntiMatter, but less dangerous.
World Devastator
The World Devastators are unique superweapons which were first used by one of Emperor Palpatine clones shortly following the death of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Unlike the Death Star, World Devastators don't destroy planets; they consume them. Incredibly powerful tractor beams disintegrate planetary matter and draw it into huge elemental furnaces. In these furnaces, the planetary matter is broken down into its base elements and fed to the World Devastator's vast internal droid-controlled production facilities. These facilities could create hordes of "TIE/d" droid-piloted TIE fighters, starships, and even Star Destroyers and other World Devastators (ref. SWEGVV).

A World Devastator's internal factories also perform a secondary function; they augment and upgrade the World Devastator itself. As a result, World Devastators are not static; they grow as they consume planets, asteroids, and starships. Each World Devastator's computer core has a unique identity and creates these customized additions and alterations based on its own decisions. The result is that no two "mature" World Devastators are identical, and given enough time a World Devastator could potentially become large enough to dwarf even the largest starships (ref. SWEGVV).

The Silencer-7 was the largest World Devastator at 3,200m long and 1500m tall. It had a crew of 25,000 and it was heavily armed with 125 heavy turbolaser cannons, 200 blaster cannons, 80 proton torpedo tubes, 15 ion cannons, and 15 tractor-beam projectors. During the Battle of Calamari, it demonstrated the ability to consume heavily armed starships as well as planetary matter when it consumed the captured Rebel Star Destroyer Emancipator. However, it was destroyed along with the other World Devastators when the Rebels used a stolen control code to disable the massive war machines (ref. Dark Empire)

In conclusion, the World Devastators were a highly effective weapon because they combined industrial weapons-production facilities with planetary destruction capabilities. Emperor Palpatine discarded them in favour of the Galaxy Gun in Dark Empire 2, but their dual-role functionality makes them highly appropriate for an invasion force into Federation territory where we have neither mining facilities, shipyards, or existing recruitment programs. In such an environment, World Devastators can rapidly build vast droid-controlled fleets by consuming the Federation's worlds. This will allow us to build overpoweringly large fleets in Federation territory at minimal cost and effort to ourselves or our local shipbuilding programs.

Speeder Bike
Most of the speeder bikes are powered by repulsor-lift engines, and were often used as recreational vehicles or simple transports. When the war between the Empire and the Rebellion escalated, several military models were manoeuvrability for the Imperial forces. Because of their high speed (up to 500 km/h), maneuverability and the low maintenance costs, the speeder bikes were used as reconnaissance craft.
The speeder bikes used by the Imperial Scout Troopers, the Aratech 74-Z was armed with a single blaster cannon and light armour plating. The bike was controlled by the vehicles handgrips, and the speed and altitude was adjusted by the foot pedals. On the control panel in front of the driver the sensors, targeting system and firing mechanism are situated.

- Manufacturer: 74-Z Military Speeder Bike
- Length: 3 meter long
- Speed: 500 kilometer per hour, with a maximum altitude of 25 meters
- Crew: 1 pilot, 1 passenger and 3 kilograms of cargo
- Weapons: 1 light blaster cannon
- Shields/Armor: Light armour plating

AT PT
The AT-PT (All Terrain Personal Transport) was an experimental single-person walker design which was originally designed by the Old Republic. It was meant to turn a single soldier into an armed force that could take on and defeat an entire squad of troops. Ultimately, the AT-PT project was cancelled. The majority of the Old Republic's AT-PTs were on the Katana Dreadnaught Fleet, after it was lost the momentum to furthering the AT-PT project was lost as well. Imperial Engineers later used many of its concepts when they were designing the AT-AT and the AT-ST. The AT-PT was intended to be a major component of the Old Republic's ground forces, also they planned to assign platoons of soldiers to AT-PTs, which would give a single platoon the firepower of nearly a company of ground troops; AT-PT platoons were to be equivalent to a light mechanized infantry units, but at a substantially lower cost. Also, with the speed and their extended comlink ranges, the platoon could patrol a far larger area than other comparable ground forces could.
The AT-PT can do impressively well against conventional ground forces. The Project designers developed the walker to be used for open ground, shallow water, jungle, mountain terrain and urban areas. The independently adjusting Leg Suspension System allows this vehicle to scramble over inclines and obstacles that would normally block repulsorlift and treaded vehicles. The Drive Legs can be extended upward for high-speed movement or to give the Pilot a much superior observation position, or the opposite can be done, where the walker is put into a "half crouch" position for superior balance compared to the larger AT-ST. Small side hatches allow access into the AT-PT. The command pod is equipped with a primitive sensor system for navigation and also the pod houses the Main Drive Unit. the scout walker issued to protect and support the ground troops and guard the flank and vulnerable under belly of the AT-AT walkers. An AT-ST can also employ the sharp claws on each foot to slice through barricades and other obstacles.

- Manufacturer: Imperial All Terrain Personal Transport Walker
- Length: 2.9 Meter tall
- Speed: 60 kilometer per hour over even terrain
- Crew: 1 pilot, 1 Trooper in an emergency situation
- Weapons: 1 Nose Mounted Twin Blaster Cannon 1 Chin Mounted Concussion Grenade Launcher
- Shields/Armor: Heavy Armour is virtually impenetrable by small arms fire
- Special Features: None

AT ST
Ihe AT-ST is a relatively lightweight vehicle and a vital component of the Imperial ground forces due to its speed, manoeuvrability and precise weaponry. Each scout walker is manned by a pilot and gunner, who enter the command pod via a small hatch on the topside of the armoured module.
The scout walker issued to protect and support the ground troops and guard the flank and vulnerable under belly of the AT-AT walkers. An AT-ST can also employ the sharp claws on each foot to slice through barricades and other obstacles.

Unfortunately the scout walker has several limitations, the vehicle's gyro balance system is highly susceptible to damage, and its thin legs have difficulty navigating steep terrain. Thus enemy troops have found methods of toppling the AT-ST by using hidden trenches and other traps aimed at the legs.

- Manufacturer: Imperial All Terrain Scout Transport Walker
- Length: 8.6 Meter tall
- Speed: 90 kilometer per hour over even terrain
- Crew: 1 pilot, 1 gunner, and 200 kilograms assorted cargo
- Weapons: 1 twin blaster cannon, 1 light blaster cannon, 1 concussion grenade launcher, 2 durasteel feet with claws
- Shields/Armor: Durasteel alloy armoured hull
- Special Features: None

AT AT
In designing it's primary ground assault vehicles, the Empire knew that fear and superstition would play a big part in destroying the moral of those who might oppose it's ground forces. To this end, Palpatine approved a series of vehicles that resembled, more than anything else, massive beasts that dwarfed any repulsor lifts of crawlers in use by the worlds of the Old Republic. Awesome when on the move, shaking the ground with each step, these walkers in stilled fear into even the most hardened enemy troops.
The Imperial All Terrain Armoured Transport (AT-AT) is a formidable battle field vehicle. Assembled at the Kuat Drive Yards to exacting specifications, the AT-AT is the lagers of the walkers designs, and can perform equally well in desert, forest or snow conditions. Controlled by pilots in the forward "head" section of the vehicle, this impressive metal monster moves along at a rapid and unstoppable rate towards it's target, crushing any thing and everything in its path beneath its massive durasteel feet. The great height from which it is controlled allows the AT-AT crew to see over obstacles that might hamper other vehicles, such as trees or the low buildings that would be encountered during urban battle situations. The AT-AT's head section is connected to the main body by a flexible armoured tunnel resembling a neck, and this flexibility permits the control cockpit to swing from side to side and up and down as if the beast were peering around for its victims

The standard crew consists of an AT-AT Commander, a pilot and a co-pilot, who is primarily responsible for weapons.

Two fixed heavy laser cannons, targeted via head movement, are mounted beneath the "chin" area of the control head. On the cockpit's sides are mounted steerable medium blasters that can be brought to bear by computer-aided targeting. This allows the AT-AT to fire in multiple directions, at multiple targets, at once.

AT-AT walkers load and drop the troops they carry by "kneeling" to allow the use of a ramp in the main body. In this way, battle ready stormtroopers "hit the ground running, weapons drawn, initially shielded from enemy fire by the massive bulk of the walker above and around them. Side-mounted hatches allow personnel to enter or exit the vehicle via the boarding ramps of imperial landing platforms.

- Manufacturer: Imperial All Terrain Armoured Transport
- Length: 16 Meter tall
- Speed: 60 kilometer per hour over even terrain
- Crew: Crew is 3, troop capacity is 40
- Weapons: Weapons Two Heavy laser cannons, two fire-linked medium blasters
- Shields/Armor: Durasteel alloy armoured hull
- Special Features: None

Assault Gunboat
The Assault Gunboat was build by Incom who also made the Lambda class shuttle. It was a craft with hyperdrive technology and excellent shields, but is had poor speed and manoeuvrability. The Gunboat was equipped with ioncannons, because it's main purpose was to disable enemy craft.

- Manufacturer: Incom
- Length: 20 Meter long
- Speed: Dual line ion engines rated at 300 KTU
- Crew: 1 pilot
- Weapons: 2 Ion Cannons, 2 Bak KX5 laser cannons, 4 Concussion Missiles
- Shields/Armor: Quadanium steel armour
- Special Features: Deflector Shield Generator

TIE Tank/Crawler
An unlikely fusing of two vastly different vehicle types, the TIE crawler was a cheap, mass-produced ground combat vehicle that saw some popularity during the Imperial Civil War that left Coruscant in ruins prior to the Emperor's resurrection.
The TIE crawler was the first new design to roll out of the newly liberated Santhe/Sienar Technologies in the uncertain times after the Battle of Endor. The independent-minded Santhe family, owners of Sienar Fleet Systems, had long bristled under the restrictive contracts of the Empire, and saw the opportunity of independence following the Empire's defeat. Santhe tried to remain neutral in the drawn out fighting between the shrinking Empire and the growing New Republic. They still produced TIE fighters for Imperial warlords, but did so on their terms.

In an attempt to break into new markets, the TIE crawler was conceived as a relatively inexpensive to produce and purchase compact assault vehicle (CAV). Its use of recycled componentry and designs helped cut costs and training time.

The TIE crawler -- or century tank, as it is officially known -- looks like a TIE fighter cockpit suspended between two massive tank treads. It can hold only a single person, who acts as pilot and gunner. Driving the tank treads at speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour are twin Santhe SSct power generators. The pilot uses foot controls to adjust the angle of steering and speed, while the hand controls are tied into fire control systems.

The TIE crawler has a pair of medium blaster cannons in the familiar "chin" mounts found on most TIE cockpits. Suspended below the cockpit ball is a retractable light turbolaser that provides the tank with respectable firepower.

Many TIE crawlers saw action in the Imperial Civil War on Coruscant, as squabbling warlords sought to take control of the former Imperial capital. After the fighting in the skies finished and the would-be Imperial conquerors sought to hold the land, many used the inexpensive TIE crawlers in wasteful ground campaigns.

* The Planet-Destroying Superlaser on the Eclipse Star Destroyers is not capable of completely destroying planets. The Death Star's superlaser consisted of eight large superlasers which, when focused into a single beam, was able to destroy planets. The Eclipse has only one of these eight lasers; though, thanks to recent breakthroughs in laser technology, this single laser has two-thirds the power of the Death Star's complete laser. The superlaser are capable of bringing down even the strongest planetary shields, and can level whole continents and sear the planet's surface, but cannot destroy the planet

TIE Fighter
Bursting from Imperial hangar bays in gnat-like clouds are the standard starfighters of the Imperial arsenal -- the Twin Ion Engine craft known as the TIE starfighter.
The single-seater short-range vessel lacks a hyperdrive, and as such requires deployment from launch bases and capital ships. It features two fire-linked laser cannons chin-mounted on the ball-shaped cockpit.

TIE fighters were typically employed en masse to make up for their shortcomings. Speedy and maneuverable, these fighters are nonetheless fragile. Though hard to hit, even a glancing blow can destroy a TIE.

Though TIEs presented a formidable challenge to pirates and civilian craft, the skilled pilots of the Rebel Alliance made short work of them in combat. The Alliance workhorse, the T-65 X-wing starfighter, continually bested the TIE in numerous engagements. As the Galactic Civil War raged on, the standard TIE arsenal was supplemented with more advanced and specialized craft, such as the fearsome TIE interceptor and the dedicated TIE bomber.

Automatic Regurgitation Machine (ARM) Fighter
Soon coming, bizznatches.

TIE Interceptor

A later addition to the TIE starfighter arsenal, the TIE interceptor sports a jagged pair of dagger-like wings, giving it an ultrasleek profile that hints at the blinding speed the fighter possesses. Like the standard TIE, the interceptor has a ball-shaped single-pilot cockpit suspended between a pair of bracing arms. The arms terminate in solar gather panels that power the craft. Unlike the TIE fighter, the interceptor has four powerful laser cannons mounted on the tips of the dagger wings. TIE interceptors figured prominently in the Battle of Endor.

TIE Bomber
Using the standard TIE fighter as a starting point, Imperial engineers designed a dedicated craft to deliver explosive payloads through bombardment. Showing its TIE roots, the TIE bomber's fuselage is bracketed by a pair of solar gather panels. For its increased power requirements, the bomber boasts elongated panels with greater surface areas than the standard starfighter.
The TIE bomber has twin cylindrical hulls between its panels. The starboard cylinder houses the pilot, while the port pod contains the fighter's explosive cargo, which are delivered to their targets via a ventral bomb chute.

Galaxy Gun
The Galaxy Gun is perhaps the ultimate expression of long-distance lethality. It fires unique intelligent projectiles which navigate through hyperspace at incredible speeds (a Galaxy Gun missile can travel through hyperspace from the Deep Core to anywhere in the Outer Rim within a few hours). These projectiles are more than mere missiles; they boast energy shielding, heavy armour, and defensive laser cannons. Upon their re-emergence in realspace they can penetrate planetary shields and strike any target (ref. SWEGWT).

When a Galaxy Gun missile strikes, its particle disintegrator warhead triggers massive nucleonic chain reactions (similar to the NDF chain reactions caused by Federation phasers but on a far more massive scale). At the missile's full power setting, the nucleonic chain reaction can destroy an entire planet in a few seconds (ref. Dark Empire 2). At lower settings, the missiles can destroy precisely metered regions of a planet, space station, or even a vessel. The Galaxy Gun is a planet-destroying superweapon like the Death Star, but it does not need to travel to the target system to inflict its damage; it can be stationed in a heavily defended location and destroy its targets with impunity from long range.

As with the World Devastators, the first Galaxy Gun was destroyed through cowardly Rebel infiltration rather than a direct military confrontation. The Rebel droid R2-D2 infiltrated the Emperor's command ship, the Super Star Destroyer Eclipse-II. The droid seized control of the vessel's navigation system and flew it directly into the Galaxy Gun before anyone could react, and the resulting impact caused the Galaxy Gun to misfire, launching a missile into the planet Byss. The resulting explosion destroyed the Galaxy Gun and much of Emperor Palpatine's fleet (ref. SWE). The Empire languished for years after this defeat, until the time of the Resurgence.

After Emperor Solo restored the Imperial forces to their former glory, he made the construction of a new Galaxy Gun a top priority. The weapon has been deployed already, but its current location is highly classified and cannot be discussed in this document. Although we don't feel it will be necessary, we plan to use the Galaxy Gun to subdue any potential allies of the Federation, should they attempt to interfere with our operations.

Sun Crusher

The SunCrusher was a small six-man ship capable of destroying stars. It was developed by Qwi Xux, a member of Admiral Daala's scientific research team at the Maw Research Facility. It was a remarkable piece of technology; the Sun Crusher was a cone-shaped vessel which flew with its "point" downwards (as perceived by the pilot). A dish-shaped resonance projector was attached to its point, and at its very top was a 360-degree rotating laser cannon. A number of other laser cannons were arrayed slightly lower on the vessel, and the pilot's cockpit windows were just below the top cannon. The ship incorporated two important technical innovations: quantum crystalline armour, and the resonance torpedo (ref. SWEGVV).

The quantum crystalline armour allowed the Sun Crusher to shrug off turbolaser blasts from Star Destroyers and it even allowed it to survive the blast wave of a supernova. Its resonance torpedoes travelled at near-lightspeed and were capable of triggering a chain reaction that would detonate a star (even a low-mass star which would not normally go nova). Although it normally carried up to 6 crewers, it could be effectively controlled by as little as one man (ref. SWEGWT).

The SunCrusher was lost twice. It was cast into the depths of the Yavin gas giant after it was stolen from the Maw Research Facility by Durron and his cohorts, and after Durron went berserk he retrieved it from the depths of Yavin by using the Force. He then went on a homicidal rampage, destroying the entire stellar cluster at the heart of the Cauldron Nebula as well as the Carida system. He eventually flew the Sun Crusher into one of the black holes in the Maw, and it was lost forever (ref. SWE).

In spite of its strengths, the SunCrusher ultimately proved to be a failure and a poor idea. Because it could be controlled by a single person, it had the potential to give a single deranged individual enough power to destroy several star systems (as happened with Kyp Durron). This creates a serious imbalance; the individual piloting the SunCrusher is simply given too much power for any individual (save the Emperor) to handle safely. Because of this, there are no plans to initiate any research programs to develop the SunCrusher technology again.

Though, Emperor Talran has recently re-initiated the Sun Crusher program. So far, one has been developed, though it's been made so that it has to be piloted by a crew of 6.

Conventional Imperial design philosophies would not have produced the TIE defender, but the repeated successes of Alliance starfighter pilots forced the Empire's hand. Developed in absolute secrecy by the higher echelons of the Imperial Navy, the deadly new TIE defender was to be an evolution of TIE technologies in a bold new direction. Though labeled as a 'logical advance,' the defender was the Empire's silent nod of respect to the Rebellion's starfighter forces.
Eschewing the swarming wing maneuvers that were a staple of Imperial combat doctrine, the TIE defender would instead empower a single pilot to operate as a formidable fighting force. Unlike the standard TIE fighter, this model featured sturdy deflector shields and a hyperdrive engine, and packed incredible firepower.

Three sets of angled quadanium solar gather panels cluster around the familiar circular cockpit. Using the latest in Sienar Fleet Systems technologies, a robust I-s4d solar ionization reactor powers the starfighter, while twin P-sz9.7 ion engines provide propulsion at an impressive 40 percent higher yield than the standard TIE/ln.

An SFS F-s5x flight avionics system translates the pilot's instructions into twisting acrobatic maneuvers. A triple array of maneuvering jets on the branching tri-wing assembly allows the TIE defender to tumble through seemingly impossible dives and jinks, outshining the impressive TIE interceptor in sheer agility.

Each wingtip holds powerful weapons. The two lower wings each hold a pair of SFS L-s9.3 laser cannons which can be fired singly or linked. The upper wing carries two Borstel NK-3 ion cannons, while the main hull of the craft supports a pair of M-g-2 general purpose warhead launchers. Enveloping the craft are forward and rear-projecting Novaldex shields, which protect the reinforced titanium hull.

Overseeing the TIE defender project was Admiral Zaarin, an Imperial officer who ultimately proved to be a traitor. The foolhardy Zaarin even had the audacity to strike against the Emperor himself. Ironically, his own starfighter project was employed in a bid to stop him. Colonel Maarek Stele and Lord Darth Vader figured prominently in early TIE defender missions to stop Zaarin.

At more than five times the cost of a standard TIE fighter, the TIE defender proved too expensive to produce in large numbers. Only a handful of these ships were deployed as part of Onyx Squadron during the Battle of Endor. Though now, they're produced in mass quantities.

Armament: x2 Ion cannons, x4 Laser cannons, x2 Warhead launchers.

TIE Dagger

Speed Rating: 180MGLT

Weapons:

4 Single or Fire-linked Laser Cannons

Description: The original TIE Starfighter first entered Imperial service years ago. It has proved to be one of the most effective symbols of the Emperor's power and "foreign policy". Despite its success, the design is aging and inadequate against the latest New Republic starfighters. As a result a replacement for the TIE Starfighter has been produced. The new fighter, code named "Dagger" is similar in concept, but with many improvements.

First, the traditional circular cockpit window on all earlier TIE models has been replaced. The new rectangular, beveled window affords the pilot an unobstructed 180 vertical degree view of space. The new single piece of transparisteel making up the window removes the necessity of structural braces across the window as found on older TIES which obstruct the view.

The profile of the new TIE Starfighter has been reduced. The clunky, massive solar panels on the original have been replaced with smaller, more efficient units similar to what is found on the TIE Interceptor. The wings are also angled outwards to provide a larger field of fire for the four laser cannons.

Finally, perhaps the most innovative new design feature are the swiveling weapons. Each laser is mounted on a swiveling emplacement, and can swivel up to 30 degrees. The angled segments of the wings are also hinged allowing a "variable geometry" firing pattern. These two articulations in the laser system are tied in with the automatic targeting computer which automatically adjusts gun positions to track a target. The result is much higher laser accuracy and fewer wasted shots.

Like its predecessor, the new TIE Dagger lacks shields and hyperdrive. Shields and hyperdrive greatly increase the cost of the fighter and it was decided that they should be left off. This more simplistic design allows for much faster production at a much lower cost, allowing the Empire to deploy millions of the new TIEs in a very short period of time. In addition, the smaller profile of the fighter allows more of these fighters to be packed into the hanger bay of a Star Destroyer. With the new fighters, a Star Destroyer's standard complement has been increased from 72 to about 96 fighters.

Shields/Armor
Forward/Rear projecting Novaldex Shields (20SBD); Titanium hull with Quadranium Steel armored Solar Panels The V38 stealth fighter is a new form of TIE Fighter, developed by Darth Vader during the later years of the Galactic Civil War. It had a central sphere surrounded by three triangular wings, mounted with laser cannons. It had incredible stealth power, evading nearly every known form of sensor. This was due to its uniqe cloaking ability. It was classified by Alliance military leaders as an assault fighter.

Though deadly coming out of its cloak, the element of surprise is the Phantom's only real advantage, because it projects very weak shields.

Cloaking Shields
Imperial cloaking devices use a massive gravitic spatial distortion field to warp the fabric of space-time completely around a cloaked vessel. This makes the vessel effectively invisible since all electromagnetic radiation and matter will be re-directed around the ship. However, the comprehensive nature of this cloak brings with it a major deficiency: since all incoming matter and energy are directed around the vessel, the ship is completely blind. It is impossible to communicate with the vessel, and inside the vessel nothing can be detected on sensors but a black emptiness around the ship (ref. SWEGWT, SWE)

Cloaking devices were mentioned during TESB, and unbenownst to the bridge officers in TESB (who reacted incredulously to the Millenium Falcon's disappearance and said "no ship that small has a cloaking device!" wink , these devices had been miniaturized by the time of ROTJ so that Emperor Palpatine's personal shuttle carried a cloaking device. The existence of this cloaking device was top-secret however, and to the best knowledge of most Imperial officers, the only working model was lost when the second Death Star was destroyed (ref. SWEGWT).

Enter Grand Admiral Thrawn: years after the destruction of the second Death Star, he discovered complete technical plans for functional cloaking devices in one of the Emperor's many secret technology warehouses on Wayland and immediately implemented this technology in his fleet. He deployed cloaked vessels during surgical strikes at Sluis Van and Ukio, and he used cloaked asteroids to blockade Coruscant during his counter-offensive against the New Republic (ref SWEGWT, SWE). After his death, cloaking devices became common equipment on Imperial starships. In Spectre of the Past we see cloaking devices being used routinely on Star Destroyers (note that the Star Destroyer Chimaera actually dropped out of hyperspace while cloaked), and in Rebel Assault 2 we see cloaking devices being used to conceal objects as small as V38 starfighters and as large as the Executor-class Star Destroyer Terror, in orbit around the moon of Imdaar Alpha. Cloaking shields were even used to conceal large docking bases such as the Imdaar Alpha station in Rebel Assault 2, which was quite large as can be seen from the Imperial Star Destroyers docked at its tower. Imperial cloaking shields extend a significant distance away from the vessel, and it is possible to fire through the cloak-shield, as seen in Spectre of the Past:

"Pellaeon took a step closer to the viewport and looked down along the Chimaera's sides. The faint blasts of low-level fire were visible, lancing a short distance out from the Star Destroyer and then disappearing as they penetrated the spherical edge of the Star Destroyer's cloaking shield. Blinded by the very device that was now shielding it from it's opponents' view, the Chimaera was firing wildly in an attempt to destroy those opponents." pg. 4
In conclusion, our cloaking technology is superior to Federation cloaking technology in most aspects. They have only one working model of the Romulan cloaking device and only one unused prototype of the phasing-cloak, while we have cloaking devices already installed on most of our Star Destroyers. Their cloaking devices leave them totally shieldless, while we retain full functionality while cloaked; we can fire weapons, make hyperjumps, use tractor beams, and maintain shields (ref. Vision of the Future). However, they can still see while cloaked, while our sensors are completely blinded (so we must navigate and fire using pre-programmed co-ordinates).

Orbital Nightcloak
The orbital nightclock is a psychologically devastating siege weapon that blocks out all sunlight from the surface of a planet. It consists of hundreds of orbiting satellites, which deploy into a vast network that encircles the planet. The satellites create energy absorption fields which completely prevent EM radiation in the visible, infrared, and ultraviolet spectra from reaching the planet's surface. These fields also block sensors and communications, completely isolating the target world. It is a truly terrifying sight to primitive species who do not understand the technology, and it is profoundly disturbing even for those who do know what it is.

Once the nightcloak is deployed, massive environmental devastation begins. Surface temperatures drop rapidly, with no source of external heating whatsoever. Plant life withers and dies in the absence of sunlight. Within three weeks, the entire planet has been plunged into an ice age. The planet's inhabitants will be forced to huddle in heated structures, and without sensors or communications they will have no way of knowing when (or if) a rescue or reprieve is coming. The nightcloak does not stop ships, but starships attempting to flee the planet have no idea how many starships are in orbit outside, and they will have to fly through the cloak before they know what they are facing. If the blockade fleet is powerful enough to obliterate any exploratory flights, the planet's inhabitants will only know that ships fly through the cloak and never return.

The former Imperial Warlord Zsinj used an orbital nightcloak on Dathomir, but his fleet was attacked by Hapan forces and the hated Luke Skywalker destroyed a large percentage of the nightcloak satellites. Up to ten percent of a nightcloak's satellites can be destroyed before the cloak fails, and current cloak satellites carry defensive auto-targeting laser cannons to defend themselves against starfighters. The nightcloak is an excellent weapon for planetary conquest rather than outright destruction. Superweapons are awe-inspiring and destructive, but there are many in the Imperial command hierarchy who do not believe in the use of superweapons. A weapon of pure psychological terror like the nightcloak is more effective in conquering planetary populations, since it does no damage to the planet that cannot be repaired (ref. SWEGWT).

Construction Droids
Construction droids are massive machines which are used to rapidly construct cities, or renovate existing cities. Many of them are used heavily on Coruscant, moving through the cities and replacing aging structures with gleaming new buildings (ref. Star Wars Illustrated Universe). They were used in the aftermath of the destructive civil wars which devastated Imperial City on Coruscant, and they consumed the wreckage and ruined buildings, feeding the raw materials to elemental furnaces and factories which manufactured vast, gleaming new buildings in their wake (ref. SWE, Star Wars Illustrated Universe).

The operating mechanism of construction droids is not well publicized. They might function in a manner similar to duplicators (ref. Han Solo and the Lost Legacy) which rapid-fabricate components at the molecular level (much like Federation replicators), or they might use an altogether different concept. However, while Federation cultists tend to be fascinated with endless technical discussions of how their technology works, we insist on pointing out that the exact mechanism is entirely irrelevant. The point is that construction droids automatically construct multi-kilometre tall skyscrapers by consuming the elements in existing skyscrapers.

Construction droids have no particular tactical relevance to our planned war with the Federation. They are mentioned only because their existence refutes the nonsensical claims of Federation cultists that we do not possess rapid-fabrication technology like their replicators. They should be able to determine this simply from the existence of molecular duplicators and the fact that we constructed most of DS2 in less than six months (ref. Shadows of the Empire) from raw materials shipped to the Endor construction site, but they tend to require multiple proofs before they accept anything.

Spaarti Cylinders
Spaarti cylinders are a left-over from the Clone Wars. They are used to clone adult human beings. Normally, human beings cloned in less than a year's time tend to suffer from a syndrome known as "clone madness". This syndrome is caused by the effect of the Force upon the growing clone, so a Ysalimiri-shielded cloning cylinder can be used to grow clones to adulthood in as little as one week's time. This process was first described in The Last Command, in which Grand Admiral Thrawn cloned armies of soldiers, and the psychotic Joruus C'Baoth cloned Luke Skywalker.

A related technology is flash-learning and mind imprints, which are required to create clones that are fully functional adults rather than babbling infants in adult bodies. Again, these processes were described in The Last Command, and they involve the extraction of a complete memory print from the subject, followed by the duplication of this print into the clone body.

There are currently 20 of these in the New Imperial ground base, and 10 in the Space Base.

Visual Enhancers
Visual enhancers are an application of optic-filterable transparisteel technology. They are computerized systems built into starfighters and other vessels with transparent cockpits, which improve the visibility of distant objects that would not normally be discernible to the naked eye. This technology was described in X-Wing Rogue Squadron: Iron Fist.

Holo-shrouds
The holo-shroud is a black-market device used for simulating the appearance of another life form. it is small enough to be worn on a user's belt, and it projects a hologram that completely disguises the wearer. Holo-shrouds are often used to disguise assassins or hide criminals from capture, but they carry certain limitations. The most important limitation is that they must project an image which is physically larger than the wearer, or the wearer's body may "show through" in places (ref. SWEGWT).

Vibro Weapons
Vibro-blades are the standard melee enhancement to all bladed weapons in the Empire. Everything from bayonets to daggers, axes, and knuckle-blades is routinely enhanced with a high-frequency vibration generator, which creates short-wavelength vibrations in the blade. These vibrations greatly enhance the pain and injury inflicted by any vibro-enhanced blade (ref. SWEGWT). Vibro-axes were seen in ROTJ, being carried by Jabba the Hutt's Gammorean guards.

BioScanners
Bio-scanners, such as the ubiquitous Athakam/RSMA bioscan system, are simple panel-shaped devices which are normally fitted in hallways or ceilings leading to sensitive areas of starships or buildings. Any entity passing near the scan-panel is automatically scanned for injuries, diseases, species, sex, heartbeat and respiration rate, muscle-tone index, height, weight, body temperature, metabolism anomalies, chemical and hormone levels, and viral infections. Higher-end models can detect cybernetic implants of any kind, energy cells, weapons, and even energy emanations from from hidden micro-transmitters. Standard bio-scanners can distinguish between more than 86,000 different alien species, with extra room in the database for new species as they are encountered (ref. SWEGWT).

These devices are employed in all sensitive installations as a matter of routine protocol, since unlike the Federation, we already have indigenous shape-shifters in our own territory (ref. Star Wars Illustrated Universe) and our security measures have always had to take their existence into account. Dominion infiltration attempts would not be as successful in Imperial territory as they were in Federation territory, thanks to this equipment.
Imperial Rank System
It may not seem like much, but I pulled up ranks for ya Pax.

Imperial Ranks

In the Galactic Empire, personnel are divided into ranks, and these ranks are subdivided into different levels called classes. There are seven ranks, ranks 1-7, with Rank 7 being the highest rank to attain to. With Rank 7 are six classes, 1-6, with Class 1 being the highest. In Ranks 1-6, there are only four classes.

To translate the chart below, find the Navy ranking "High Admiral". After this title is listed in parentheses 6-1. These numbers are that officers rank number and class number, respectively. So a High Admiral (6-1) has a rank of 7 and class of 1. These numbers are important for security access to certain files, etc., and for determining superiority in the vast Imperial forces.

Rank Seven contains the overlords of the Empire, and these are not relegated to a specific branch of the Imperial armed forces (Army, Navy, etc.). The single exception is in Class 2, which is shared by a Grand Admiral in the Navy and a Grand General in the Army. Supreme Moffs, Grand Moffs, and Moffs are not assigned to a specific division, but oversee them all.
