Aged Cleric

Eva Mary Gaven
User ImageAh April... Rain threatened in the distance. It was close to midnight, and the destined time of the meet. Eva took in a deep breath, and leaned back in the chair that sat just inside of the shadowed window. A few guns had been brought in, and she had them sitting on the table in the middle of the room. The old moth eaten curtains were half closed, and were slightly flowing in the cool breeze of the spring air. She pulled her warmer jacket over her chest a bit more, and she hated wearing her pistol holster, but it was better to be uncomfortable then caught without your weapon. Granted it might not do her any good, but she did practice with it when she had some time scheduled for it.

Her mind drifted to this morning's conversation with her daughter. Eva as per usual made breakfast for her children before she headed off to work. Her daughter had asked her about prom. Her sixteen year old daughter had asked. Her daughter even looked up from the hand held device she was obsessed with, having just earned it back from back talking.

Victoria was six when her father was taken from them. She was a picture of her father in female form. Blond hair, blue eyes, and very attractive. Same small nose, and pale skin. Victoria luckily ha Eva's mind for things, and had a very level head. She was tall, skinny, and instead of taking on dancing, Victoria took on was involved in soccer, volleyball, and basketball. Victoria was kind, and liked in school.

Eva set the food out, and was shocked to hear her daughter say anything at all after receiving her smart phone back. "Prom is coming up, and I was invited to go with by Eric Mettcaf. He is a junior, and all my friends are going. May I please go?" She asked, Eva sat down, and took a sip of OJ.

She thought about the pros and cons of having her going to the right of passage at her sophomore grade. The middle child started to make kissy faces an noises to pester his older sister. "Shut up Don!" She said, making him laugh and feel triumph with his torment succeeding to get under his sisters skin.

Oh Don... He was hell on wheels, and had short curly hair that was as blond as the sun lit fields. Again anther picture of her late husband, but he had her dark eyes. Donald as he hated being called, was thirteen. He is like his sister athletic, and was going to be a ladies man. His favorite past time was to pester his sister, but they both loved each other as strongly as the siblings they were. Victoria was protective over her little brothers, and it showed more so with Don. He was a trouble maker from the get go, but it was all in fun. He however was never bullied or singled out. Don was the class clown, and loved the attention. Not that he did get enough at home. Eva helped them each night if she could with their homework, but did not do the work for them. They had her to help. Their grades showed it.

Now for the youngest, Erin. She was giggling and laughing at her older brother. She thought the world of him. They were buddies, and went everywhere together. She was ten, and had long curly black hair and looked much like her mother. Same dark eyes, same chin, but had the flare that her father possessed. She was dressed in her school uniform as well, and like the other siblings, was well liked, and friendly. But she was more quite then the other two. Erin tended to watch, and listen. She was a natural in school, and was two grades ahead. Sports were not her thing, but she loved to run with her brother in the morning.

That conversation died out, but Eva ended up agreeing to the dance, but a few things had to be taken care of first. One being, her date. She had to meet him first, and she was going to ask for them to be escorted by someone of her picking if she could not do it herself. Hell her daughter was only sixteen. The last condition was Eva got to go dress shopping with her daughter. At first it was a small argument, but Eva promised to be fair as she always was, though Eva knew she would rather have her go to prom in a gunny sack that went all the way down past her knees. But in the end, Eva was sure she would allow her daughter to use her judgment, and pick out what she really wanted. Victoria was a smart, and conservative young woman who respected the way she looked. Something Eva was rather proud of.

A car drove by, pulling her attention back from her morning ritual with her family. She remembered the drive to school, and having the feeling that she was being followed, it was kind of a special day... Well evening, and she felt on edge anyway. Eva looked to her smart phone which had a app that kept the light low, and in a red spectrum, that would be nearly impossible to see if your not looking at it directly. She did not see any of her cameras showing any recording via motion sensor for the last two hours. Cameras were located in several places. One being two flights down, where another was at each entrance.

At this time Eva was by her self alone with only her cameras, binoculars, a few weapons, and her phone. Eva let out a board sigh, and sent a text, to the group across from the 'Speakeasy bar.' It gave the make, model, and if possible color, of the sedan that was driving their way. 'Audi R8, black, 1st pass.' It might be nothing, and could get annoying, but everything needed to be known. It was better that way. Then, Eva's thoughts wondered again to what her boss and the one he was going to ask to join him were doing? The cool spring air smelled sweet as it blew into her small room, and she felt the chill of the air cut threw her jacket. "Burr." She whispered. Eva had not even gotten any orders other then what she was doing now. It was strange, for she normally had a small group of people to move around. It was kind of lonely up here by herself.
