This roleplay takes place in the realm of futuristic science fiction, and is meant for Literate to Advanced Literate roleplayers only.

The world has ended. There is no longer any denying that. Human beings have been eradicated, or pushed from their home world. Now their last hope resides upon Guardian Angel, an Asteroid-turned-space-station where the last of humanity's technology and military has managed to hold on.

Some decades ago now, strange creatures burst forth seemingly from nowhere, and spread like a plague of locusts across the world. City after city fell to the onslaught of this alien force, which seemed to reproduce more quickly for every attempt made to exterminate it, each new wave, changing- adapting- becoming more complex and more fierce with every new push, the cities and their people being crushed underfoot of these giant monsters. Worse still is the fate of those killed in the struggle as they are stored as food... or eaten on the spot.

Towards the end of the appearance of this threat, mankind's greatest minds were able to enact a plan to remove the last of humanity from the clutches of these foul beasts, and retreat to the stars. Aided by The Steel Soldiers- a group of elite pilots donning what can only be described as mech suits- they managed to delay their inevitable destruction. Now the fate of the world rests on the Pilots of the Sixth Division, and those brave souls who Fight alongside them...


Welcome to the Satellite Station Guardian Angel, by all rights a military installment. Those who serve aboard are by their presence expected to adhere to a military lifestyle including combat drills and training. Further, insubordination or any actions which may jeopardize the safety and well-being of the crew on board the ship will be met with the strictest of punishments...

Okay, I don't have many rules (EPIC LIE!) but I would like you to follow all of them. If not, your profile will be removed and you will not be responded to in the RP. You will also be put on the Black List.


Literacy:
I expect good grammar and spelling from you. Does this mean that you can't make a single mistake? Absolutely not. I just don't want to read through chat speak, straining my eyes as I do so. Also, you need to at least post five sentences. No one likes one liners, since it's nearly impossible to reply to those. I should know. If you aren't as literate, please feel free to take it slow with your posts. You shouldn't need to rush to stay in a Role Play. That being said, please be sure to post as often as you are able. There is no need to keep other people waiting around for long amounts of time without forewarning all of us in the OOC.

At the end of this post will be a profile format in code. Please fill it out in your own topic, and PM me the link so I can look it over. If accepted, I will PM you a message back saying so. If not accepted, I will PM you a message saying what needs to be fixed to be allowed entry. Title your reservations "Reporting for Duty," and your profiles "The War Begins."


Respect:
Surely you should know by now that everyone should be treated with respect. I don't want anyone to be ignored on this roleplay. Don't go god-moding either. No one likes that. Also, if you plan on joining because you think another character is 'hot' then I will not accept you. But if I do accept you and you make it clear all your interested in is 'the really ROMANTIC romance' (you all know what I mean), then you will have your profile deleted. Romance, however, is encouraged.


Posting:
First things first, don't quote someone else's post UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. It just makes everything seem... Ew. If you want to get their attention, quote just their name in a spoiler box at the bottom of your post. Next, make your posts pretty. Use a good posting format. I just don't want boring old black by itself. Does this mean I don't even want to see someone use the black font color? No. I like black, but it's boring by itself. Last, don't double post. I hate it when someone does that. Just hate it. NO OOC CHAT HERE. >.< It goes in the OOC Thread. Everyone should subscribe to it so we can all stay caught up.


Other:
-No cybering.
-Romance is highly encouraged!
-Fighting is highly encouraged, seeing as this RP is based on war, just no killing PC's unless I am informed and the other person knows. Can you use this if you don't like your character? Absolutely. But it must be some kind of accident of some sort involving the other person. Like training goes wrong and you fall off a cliff... That could work... If you do this and do not plan to make another character, you will be placed on my black list.
-No more than 2 characters a person.
-Post at least one time when your on. We want active RPers. If you have to be gone for a period of time, inform the roleplay members via the OOC Chat room.
-Not all characters can be related to one another. Exceptions will only be made if the other sibling is played by another person and their Bio is reasonable.

Dangerously skilled on the battlefield, Gideon's chance of promotion has passed him on several occasions for his brash and reckless tactics that endanger himself and his squad. While he continues to claim they were "calculated risks" command has Gideon on a "black list" of sorts for his lack of concern in well being.

❝ While perhaps not the most interesting individual on the satellite station, she is certainly one of the more important pieces to it. An artificial intelligence program given a humanoid form, Raem helps to run the facility and aid in it maintenance. In order to do this, she developed an android to insert herself in when she is needed in places she can't simply get to through the electrical systems. Otherwise, she watches from the core of the computer network, making sure to learn as much as possible while making sure the humans residing there can continue to do so without harm. How much longer that will last with the aliens though, no one really knows. On top of that, Raem as of late has been trying to simulate human emotion to make others more comfortable when associating with her. This has recently brought her into question about her efficiency but she swears that it is only a program made to help her speak with other sentient beings.

❝ Characterized by an intense conviction, Adene has time and time again proven herself as a valuable pilot. Outside of the confines of military standing, she is quite an exuberant woman and will often indulge herself in clothing and other carefree luxuries. ❝ Once a prominent member of the science team, aiding it with experience and expertise, Alma lost her position about five years ago to an accident that had changed her life forever. While it is not widely known throughout Guardian Angel, a select few groups were aware of the changes her body that were taking place. Due to this, she lost her position as the lead of science's assistant and took up a new position as medic. People often give her distance and as such, not much is said about her. If anything, people ask "Why see her?" or "There are other people you could ask." Typically, these are the individuals who know about her situation and the creature she simply refers to as Hydra.

MechanicWill

❝ Most think that Will's active, OCD-like, attitude translates to not caring for anything but work, which is incorrect. Overall he wears his heart on his sleeve, and will talk with anyone about anything, anytime. He cares more about other's than even his best work. He smokes too much, drinks way to much, and experiments with different drugs on occasion, but you won't find better hands in the business. Though he has his faults, and swears way too much, he can't abide the lord's name being taken in vain. No matter what he is doing, he will always have his cross around his neck, and he can't abide mistreatment of women... its ungentlemanly. As a child he grew up poor, so he made his brother's and sisters birthday and holiday presents, usually from odds and ends. Will could make anything! He hasn't stopped since, his toys just got bigger, and way more expensive.

- Description of Races and Ranks -

Races

Human: Consists of males and females. A hardy race with a knack for ingenuity when needed.

Xenomorph: An alien lifeform that was once human, mutated by the genetic material of an otherworlder. Holds most human characteristics that have been altered in some form, and are capable of touting firearms, as well as spreading their "gift" to other humans through touch. They form a society in the ruins of the human cities.

Tunnelbider: A large, bug-like creature that may have been mutated from roaches or other exoskeletal insects of Earth. Burrows into tunnels to sleep or eat. Capable of traveling over 30 miles per hour in short bursts. Highly dangerous if caught off-guard.

Slayers: The top race of the alien life forms, top of the food chain. Are to be avoided at all costs, as their claws can rend through Mech defenses. Are thought to be mutated forms of the big cats such as lions and tigers.

Buzzards: A huge creature with a beak-like head and insectoid wings. Eats carcasses and other waste, but will kill for meals. Capable of long-range flight exceeding 60 miles per hour. Extremely dangerous, even when in a Mech Suit. Do not approach unarmed.

Darts: Small creatures that travel in swarms, they follow the Tunnelbiders and eat what the bigger bugs don't. Relatively harmless as a single unit, dangerous in swarms.

Leechers: Arguably the most dangerous alien life form to humankind. Quick to breed and quick to attack, these little bugs attach to hosts at the spinal cord, paralyzing their victim before laying their eggs within the host, which hatch into larvae-like creatures and devour them from the inside out. Do not approach.

Harvester: Most likely mutated from some species of tarantula or the like. These xenomorphs travel in pairs and scavenge the surface world for food, feeding off of carrion, both human and xeno alike. Their size and strength of their jaws and exoskeleton make them formidable opponents, engage with caution.

Lurker: Mutated from trapdoor spiders and orbweavers. The Lurker's do not openly hunt on the surface, instead they lie in wait underneath the ground. When prey gets close enough, they burst forth from the ground and ambush the confused target. Their abdomen is where they store their acidic venom, able to melt through the toughest metal humans can produce. When slain, a Lurker's abdomen will explode in a volatile reaction.

Devourer: Reports of a Devourer's size has ranged from anywhere between fifteen feet, to half a mile long. These centipede mutants compete against Tunnelbiders for food, though they are solitary hunters, rather than traveling with packs of Darts. Unlike Tunnelbiders, Devourers can travel at high speeds underground and above ground for long periods of time: one was clocked above ground at roughly 70mph. Their fierce jaws and tentacles can rip and tear through most metal. Engage with extreme caution.

Spawn: It has been witnessed from afar the effects of Leecher birth, while morbid and grotesque for certain: it seems that these newly birthed monsters continue on the evolutionary cycle. These monstrosities have been dubbed as "spawn" are the aftermath of leecher larvae that have finished their meal of their former host. Once 'evolved' into this new form, the spawn will eat anything and everything nearby before retreating underground, most likely to reproduce and creature more Leechers? This is still unknown.

Rots: Evolution gone horribly wrong, yet mutation succeeding. This mass of flesh has a voracious appetite that does not fit one for it's small size. More of an annoyance than any other xeno, these shock troopers seem to think a suicide run is the best option. Because of their size, any form of dispatching them resolves in them exploding in a gory reaction. Their innards then stain whatever they touch, resulting in a sticky substance akin to tar. Large packs of Rots are to be taken from afar, as it has been witnessed that enough of this 'tar' and a mech will cease to function, leaving the pilot stranded against an army of blood thirsty monsters.

Primes: One of the two mammals that was able to be mutated by the xenomorph DNA. Primates such as gorillas mixed with insectoid DNA, resulting in a exoskeleton protecting all vital organs and spinal cord. Primes are extremely territorial and ferocious, travelling in packs of at five up to twelve. Their size and strength rivals that of our strongest mechs. Incredibly fast and strong, it is ill-advised to ever engage against even one Prime, for they are ever rarely alone. It has been hypothesized that Primes are slowly learning, though this theory has been mocked and laughed at by all serious researchers at the Academy.

General: ( 1 of 1 ) Head of the military, and provides leadership for all aboard the Guardian Angel.

Science Lead: ( 1 of 1 ) Head of the Scientific Department, and provides leadership for those employed in the scientific research and development.

Munitions Expert: ( 1 of 1 ) Part of the Sixth Division Steel Soldiers. Specializes in weaponry of all kinds. Reports to the General.

Demolitions Expert: ( 1 of 1 ) Part of the Sixth Division Steel Soldiers. Specializes in explosives and heavy artillery. Reports to the Science Lead.

Scout: ( 1 of 1 ) Part of the Sixth Division Steel Soldiers. Specializes in stealth and recon, with training in ranged weaponry as well as hand-to-hand combat. Reports to the General.

Medic: ( 1 of 1 ) Part of the Sixth Division Steel Soldiers. Specializes in medical pursuits and keeping others alive, with training in ranged weaponry as well as hand-to-hand combat. Reports to the Science Lead.

Mechanic: ( 1 of 1 ) Part of the Sixth Division Steel Soldiers. Specializes in repair of vehicles, flight suits, and spacecraft, with training in ranged weaponry as well as hand-to-hand combat. Reports to the Science Lead.

Soldier: ( 2 of 2 ) All other soldiers under the General's command. Extensive knowledge of weaponry and hand-to-hand combat. When not fighting or training, they generally perform maintenance on Guardian Angel.
