At the bottom of the staircase he paused for a brief moment to scan the room. It was no surprise to him anymore to find it empty. He didn't think much of it either, simply assuming that their schedules were opposite. Or, better said, that other people were on a schedule while he had nothing better to do than be a sloth ... and tick off Red. He started walking again.

Fumbling in his right pocket as he walked, he pulled out a tiny wireless earphone which he promptly inserted in his ear then shoved his hand back in the pocket. The click that followed announced the start of the digital voice recording. The familiar voice flooded his ears, reporting the previous day's 'noticeable' happenings, a necessary practice for someone with memory blackouts. His hand came out again to push open the kitchen door, revealing the object of his interest - the fridge.

Please have edible food inside!he silently prayed as he reached out to open the fridge's door. Bacon and eggs, bacon and eggs his thoughts roared and to answer them, his stomach gave another fierce growl.

((The usual lame BUMP ))

((Hey, I know you have more than one character involved with the GPD.))

((I pretty much whittled all of my characters down to just Joker.

But, forget the island, my RP got sent to the Recycle Bin.))

So he ate in silence, listening to the tape. The genderless voice droned smoothly on for about a quarter of an hour before a well-known name and a date marked the end of the recording. The tape clicked to a stop. Taro took another swig of orange juice to wash down the lingering taste of scrambled eggs, and then finally got to his feet. There was something recorded on that tape that stirred his thoughts. He rewound it, then played the words once more while he carried the dishes into the sink to wash them. It was only polite to clean after oneself, especially if one was a guest in another's house. Even if the one has hardly ever seen another.

He dried his hands on the side of his jeans, because looking for a kitchen towel was too much effort for someone like Taro. Then, on his way out of the kitchen, he clicked the 'Record' button and made his own contribution to the daily report.

He had to change into something more adequate for a bike ride, then finally took off, kicking up a cloud of dust for extra dramatic effect.
((Notice: The Aegis is going to be slightly different for the time being. As the rest stop is nowhere near the storefront or warehouses for the other incarnation of the Aegis it should have no effect, but it is merely a mention. The rest stop uses the AnimeLeague incarnation of Torment where the older Aegis uses the Gaian incarnation of Torment. I may just merge the two as it really doesn't matter anymore, but I've got plans for the old Torment...))

The Azure Phoenix had long left the storefront with an impossibly large contingent of Venificus reproductions and Fleshlings. He had taken with him 4 Venificus Mark 003 Overlords, 100 Venificus Mark 032 Worker Drones, and 400 Fleshlings for use in clearing and construction. These were not headed to their normal destination as the modular pieces were left in their warehouses. This was not something Torment had rebuild so many times before but someplace new, though most likely a location he had been at least once before.

From each of the warehouses a rush of wind and flame exited from the many exits as the now largely empty shells began to unfold. The roofs peeled back and a brilliant jet of flame reached up into the sky and carried with it a device of artifice and ether. Once they were airborne each trailed wings of azure flame as each fire bird began to run surveilance on the surrounding areas. In two hours one more from each warehouse would be launched. This would start an endless cycle that would eventually deliver daily reports of global activities to their creator.

He was ready to enter the active scene once more.

With a brilliant flash The Azure Phoenix returned to the storefront that housed the majority of his tools and raw materials for the next task at hand. He was unconcerned with the fact that his large scale launch of so many drones would no doubt draw attention to his resumed activities. If anyone came to investigate any of his facilities they would find only their own demise at the hands of the mechanical and biological machinations within. Running through equations and calculations in his head he swiftly moved inside and back to his workbench.

Utilizing a stylus composed entirely of a soft blue light he began drawing up schematics in the third dimension. He started with the basic frame, a human skeleton sculpted to perfection with a balance of size and weight. He began adding eldritch etchings and metallic alloys to increase strength even further without increasing overall weight to a significant degree. His plans involved generating much higher strength and as such the skeletal system would need to be powerful indeed. However, he ensured that it would be immune to magnetic interference and control by magical sources. Even his own masterpiece Turey Izmir, the last remaining Apocalypse Walker, would be unable to alter the bone structure with all his power.

By now a myriad of disks were floating around the man as he worked on what seemed to be merely a pile of raw materials. Each disk held a different vantage point from the skies. One disk was receiving from a Venificus mk 037 Aerial Drone deployed over Barton Town where it was currently cataloging. Another disk showed a strange isle some distance away while another was receiving telemetry from a drone passing through mountains and over a vale that screamed of interest.

He didn't even look up.

Lines of azure power extended out from his fingertips as he held both hands over the raw materials. The light trickled down until it nearly touched the elements gathered whereby each tendril pulled back slightly. Power mounted for a moment before each lanced down into the many piles and assorted containers. With a slight sigh the pile melted away into a shimmering pool of mostly organic ooze. From within rose a fully formed human skeleton with broad shoulders. The bone itself seemed to have a silvery blue tint with lines of azure power gleaming at several locations set as pre-defined break points. Stress upon the bone would be taken up until many hundreds of time the human limit before one of these break points released safely and cleanly. No more pesky bone shards in your lungs!
arrow Aegis, rest stop

The roaring died along with the acceleration as soon as the rest stop came into view. The rider allowed the momentum to send the bike rolling silently down the road for some distance before hitting the breaks abruptly. The machine was clearly made for speed - its rider sitting forward, shielded behind plexy glass- and did not like to be forced into a halt. It protested as its thick wheels locked, leaving behind substantial rubber marks as the tires scraped the path of its dusty coat, spraying collected pebbles to the sides.

One foot fitted properly with a black leather lace up biker-boot peeking from underneath the hem of a pair of equally black leather chaps was lowered to act as a prop for the bike and its rider. The other foot remained thrown across, falling into the foot hold near one of the exhaust engines. The rider straightened somewhat, one gloved hand moving away from the grip in order to release the strap assembly, remove the helmet and hook it on the free handlebar. Sunshine blended with her spiked blonde hair, causing her newly acquired highlights to glisten an unusual blood red color.

The same gloved hand that previously removed the helmet now sneaked into one of the leather jacket’s many pockets to retrieve a packet of cigarettes. '' ******** long way for a pack of smokes...'' Red commented, lifting the packet to her lips and extracting one of the cigarettes before placing the thing back. And since there's no smoke without a fire, she proceeded in patting the front of her jacket until she discovered the lighter. A quick flicker of orange and blue light, and the cigarette lit up. Red took a deep drag, olive green eyes closing for a moment in delight, then opening once more as the smoke was exhaled. To kill time while she had her f**, she gazed ahead through one of the building's windows facing her way, trying to see if she'll catch any movement inside now.

((That would be out of his way, I am hoping. ))
The Master Artificer had not paused his work from the moment he returned. His need for food, water, and sleep were being sustained only by the boundless fires of his Soul Forge. With a gleaming silver-blue hammer in hand he stood over the same skeleton he had built earlier. Organs lay within the spaces, held together by membranes and fields of azure light while he prepared the bones for muscles, ligaments, and tendons. The glorious machine of the human body was beginning to come together but he was still concerned about the strength of the bones compared to the powerful muscles and energy that would infuse this body.

It seemed that it was the first breath that he had taken in days. His chest screamed at the expansion and his lungs cried in pain. The pain fled as a surge of spiritual power mounted within him and fled from his body in a surge with a single hammer stroke upon the body's ribcage. One after the other his blows fell on the skeleton but instead of damaging them it did quite the opposite. Each strike flooded it with spiritual energy, leaving behind a silvery blue sheen where the the bone had been strengthened tenfold.
The man had skin. If anyone knew the body that now lay there they would certainly claim that it was that of Lord Rasarai. The one major exception was that Torment had seen fit to remove the genitalia as the man had not specified whether he wanted any or not and it made the artificer giggle inside at the thought of delivering it to him as such. In addition there were some minor cosmetic changes such as flawless skin and better hair but those were merely an end result of his breed of sculpting flesh. With a flick of his wrist he willed the body into the air, grasping onto errant strands of soulstuff still tied to the bones. Each and every bone was alight with power from the moment he reached out, shining through the Lord's flesh like mere paper. Torment focused for a moment and the light began to grow in intensity as more and more power flooded into the skeleton. It was a static energy that would serve no purpose save to emulate the sheer volume of energy that the Lord would be utilizing. He shifted the spectrum slightly and runes of eldritch power blazed across the flesh at the sudden change. He felt his own power being suppressed even as he shifted the spectrum back to appease the wards. With a nod he scaled back the power present within the body, shifting it back into a usable form and executing an expertly crafted teleport.
