Tacitus

((To Daphne and Kir: I will post later this evening but I am otherwise occupied at the moment. Ya know, school and all.))

((No worries, none of you all is at the Aegis from what I could read so far and there's no real need to reply. Plus, I'd trade you my job for your school classes anytime! 3nodding ))

arrow Aegis - Sleepers Private Quarters

The shower helped refresh the young one, the last bits and pieces of a nightmare that felt all to real being washed down the drain. Taro was now rubbing that damp hair with a dry towel, another towel wrapped around that lean body, while pacing about the room, trying to figure out how to spend the reminder of the day. Soon the towels were discarded on the side of the bed and Taro's arms rode upwards, long fingers ruffling the dirty blonde hair, pushing it away from those big olive color eyes. Putting on some clothes seemed like the first step to take at this point.

For some unexplained reason, going outside didn't appeal to the youngster at all, not after fragments of memory of the day that passed still swam in his mind, but to satisfy the need for fresh air Taro stepped to the window and crached it open just enough for him to suck in a deep breath and release it in a long sigh of pleasure. He closed his eyes lazily, letting the current wash over his face, play with the collar of that shirt he'd settled on wearing ... and listened ... just stood still and listened to the silence veiling this place. Even that other voice inside his head was quiet now and that pleased Taro all too much. The corner of those full lips arched upwards in satisfaction. Those green eyes opened, taking in the view. Fields of gold and silver streched every direction for as far as Taro could see, save for one path snaking through the tall grass toward the house. Pretty view, the young one thought, very relaxing.
((Raven, I'm glad somebody got that. XD))

((Daphne, I was actually planning on having Torment in the shower with a bathing cap and big yellow gloves on cleaning it. XD I just forgot to actually, you know, post it. XD I personally would have found it hilarious had I the time to do it right, but meh.))
((Ha, that's right. Adsartha mentioned the showers being common a long time ago I think but since I wasn't sure anymore, I just skipped that bit sweatdrop Ah well, there'll be other showers, plenty of time for you to 'do it right'))
((Tac. We need something to give us an edge. Preferably non-lethal))

"Yes Sir!" Vallins stood up and saluted the elderly man, holding the position for five seconds before heading off. Heading off in the direction Vorpal and the woman had went.
((And just what would you propose, Kir? And with what funds do you propose we we acquire this edge? Payroll is done automatically and the AOTDCC is always watching to see if any building modules need replaced but there is no way to just make money from nothing. The contract with the AOTDCC is highly specific in that it only replaces the building, garage, and turrets in the event of them being destroyed or damaged. A business like that doesn't give out handouts beyond the agreement forged between the AOTDCC Founder and Tacitus. If Tacitus were around he could arrange an IC meeting if you want to strike up a separate contract but he's not so...))

The elderly man slowly rises and without another word he strides off into the darkness of the night without so much as kevlar or even a gun to protect him from harm.
OoC:

Why not cut down on the mecha and all that other jazz since you rarely use them and implement something that you would use more often, Tac?
((The defenses are in place at all times but are unused in situations where they are not called for. Fending off a magic based attacker generally only requires similar return force. For those that implement tech or mobs (or both) the automated defenses are available. No reason to hit an ex-marine commando with the planet.))
OoC:

....what?

First off, your defenses are way, way overpowered. I'm pretty sure you can cut down 1% and can get the electro-shock weapons for Officer Kiraza or whomever.
((IC the components are ready and waiting with the contract already partially fulfilled. There was no money involved. Think of it as community service. The funds for the GPD are very slim in the aftermath of the retooling away from the Durem compound to the original concept. With the supplier's end of the contract partially fulfilled the GPD cannot commit fraud by changing the terms of the contract.))

((Tell me what about the defenses is overpowered. Oh, we clam up when we're attacked, making it so that we are trapped inside or outside of our facility until the threat has passed. Ooooooh, ten turrets. I'm scurred. Can't teleport in and take prisoners? Oh noes!))

((NEWS FLASH TO ALL GPD ATTACKERS EVER))

((Hey, why don't you do the smart thing and lock us in for once? Get it in lockdown and wait for us to either die or pop up and smash ourselves against what will probably be your reinforced attacking group by the time we get it back above ground. Or, a novel concept, put it down and keep it down so we can't get in and reinforce ourselves? Camp on top of the building with sniper rifles! DO SOMETHING INTELLIGENT! *Lawl, missiles at your armored walls until you come out and fight us and we run away* is not intelligent. *lawl, i set u up da bomb* is not intelligent. *walk in and shoot your receptionist* is not intelligent.))
OoC:

I'm not sure, but maybe it's because you're a police station with all this stuff?

Rumor has it, Edy still watches over this thread, refreshing every five seconds - waiting for someone to attack so he can teleport his fleet in and attack like he did so many moons ago.
((When the populace falls into chaos you do not need police officers on the streets, you need Judges. If anything the GPD is more akin to the Judges than a police station as you might know it today. Do people walk down your street and randomly blow up your house because it looked at them wrong? Do tanks crush your mailbox every morning? Do you suddenly find your friends bursting into flame because some whack job decides fire is fun? No. Stop comparing the GPD to a police station as you know to be true in real life. The escalation of the environment to where all of these things and more are plausible on a daily basis requires a degree of militarization.))

((If Edy watches the GPD then that means he would have forgiven me for being his own personal Judas.))
OoC:

Why not be the Gaian Army then, I think Tanasha is dead and buried, yeah? Let's you have more freedom.

Edy/Darz is all emo now. His profile is him crying that nobody likes him.
((Posterity and the fact that to want to be a gorram army. If I wanted to be in/lead an army I would have done that four years ago! It has an entirely different feel and purpose when compared to a police force that tries to maintain order and actually arrest people. I want a degree of militarization because it is necessary, I don't want to roll out the tanks or ******** with all the technical s**t of who supplies what and what this does and blahblahblah. Its useless garbage outside an established Group setting like the Multiverse on AnimeLeague.))

((And you leave him the ******** alone.))
((But hasn't the GPD always been more than a police department? I remember a constitution that was suppose to be written a long time ago. I haven't seen Edy in ages))
OoC:

You're not really a police force. This is really just a hangout. You should make it a demon hangout for lycan/fox spirits. At least you'll get some new members from Barton, yeah?

Oh no, Tacticus said leave Edy alone. This will totally stop me, should I somehow have the desire to talk to him, from talking to him.
